00:00 This goes up, like that, to Emmert Universal Machinist Vice, and these were developed around 1910, 1912.
00:08 The jaws are three different jaw systems.
00:12 So you have this set you can use, you can switch it around to this set of jaws, or you
00:19 can switch it around to this set.
00:21 These would go over these pins, and then you could grab material on an angle.
00:29 You can put a groove down it, where you can grab a bar through here, or a tapered pin.
00:34 You can grab this place, loosen this, and this then changes to a vertical system.
00:43 So you can have this in any position you want.
00:47 This goes up, like that.
00:50 And then you have vertical aggression, so you can have stuff in here.
00:53 If you want to do sawing, you can grab material and hold it out horizontally.
00:58 So you can position it anywhere you want, and it's a pretty sturdy vise.
01:02 They came in five different sizes.
01:04 They had one-inch jaw, two-inch, three-inch, four-inch, and six-inch jaws.

01:14 This is the three-inch model.
01:17 This has all the same features, and the swivel base as well.
