00:00Sefton's Rimrose Valley Country Park is set to receive more than £167,000 to preserve
00:08its heritage. The National Lottery Heritage Fund has awarded the money to Rimrose Valley
00:13friends. The project comes as the park marks 25 years since officially opening. It will
00:20support conservation work, including efforts to improve habitats affected by invasive species.
00:25Local people, volunteers and schools will be invited to take part. Artists will gather
00:31memories and sounds from the valley through walks and oral histories. That material will
00:36then become an audio trail and part of a new digital archive. New signage is planned alongside
00:42improvements to infrastructure.
