00:00Guinea's media regulator has issued a formal warning to French broadcaster France 24,
00:06accusing it of using an inappropriate term to describe President Mahmoudou Doubouya.
00:11The High Authority for Communication said the Channel Act deliberately referred to Doubouya
00:16as a push's precedent during a September 14 broadcast.
00:21Doubouya seized power in a 2021 military coup before being elected president in December
00:272025 in a vote that was held without significant opposition.
00:31The regulator said France 24 had ignored what is called the presidency's legitimacy from
00:37the ballot box and ordered the broadcaster to make editorial corrections across its digital
00:42platforms.
00:43The authority warned it would impose sanctions if the Channel repeats what it described as
00:49an offence.
00:51France 24 had not immediately responded to a request for comment.
00:57The regulator also withdrew the press accreditation of a Jeune Afrique correspondent accusing him
01:03of professional misconduct.
