00:04before the couple publicly announced their split. According to records obtained by Page Six,
00:09Richson filed divorce paperwork in Williamson County, Tennessee in December 2025. However,
00:14the couple waited until September 12th to reveal they were going their separate ways,
00:18sharing a joint statement on Instagram. After 20 years together, Cat and I have decided to end our
00:23marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way, they wrote. The couple said they
00:28grew up together, built a life and family together, and are raising their three sons,
00:33Calum, Eden, and Amory, who they say will always be the center of our world.
00:37Richson and Catherine also said they still have love and respect for one another,
00:41adding that nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us. They said they want to give each
00:45other room to grow into the people they are becoming, while focusing on friendship, grace,
00:50and becoming the strongest co-parents they can be. The couple also asked for privacy and compassion,
00:55particularly for their children. Richson and Catherine tied the knot in May 2006 after meeting
01:00while doing ballet together in high school. During a 2002 Today interview, Richson recalled
01:06that Catherine would bring him cookies, saying, of course I fell in love. In 2021, the couple marked
01:11their 15th wedding anniversary with throwback photos from their wedding. Richson reflected on the highs
01:17and lows they had experienced together, writing that despite it all, they were still holding hands.
