00:11This is important, ladies and gentlemen. What we are looking at is the head of Meta India, who is also
00:16the MD, has reached the NCPCR premises in Delhi.
00:21The organization basically had issued a notice to Meta on the CSEM advertisements.
00:26This is the child sexual, exploitative and abuse material that had been reported about. It had raised an alarm.
00:33More explanation will be sought from Meta today on the issue of the advertisements and basically whether it's in terms
00:39of revenue to get more traction, how can it not be checked?

00:50Aishwarya, tell me more. How do you think the organization is going to take any sort of steps on it?
00:57What do you think is Meta India's response? Where does the full IT regulation bit come in here?
01:04Well, you know, Pooja, we have seen how the Indian government time and again has been telling Meta that you
01:08need to follow the Indian rules.
01:09That is something that is very, very clear from day one. If you want to work in India, you need
01:13to follow the rules.
01:14The FIR has also to be launched. Now, this is something that we are seeing how the Indian government time
01:20and again has been speaking about.
01:22They are saying that an FIR in the area where that particular incident has taken place, in that area the
01:28FIR now needs to be launched.
01:30What is Meta doing to make sure that these kind of provisions are made in place and how are they
01:35curbing this kind of content?
01:36That's the big question which will now need to be answered. The government, in fact, also has been asking Meta
01:41to make sure that on their own,
01:43they need to make sure that there are checks and balances which are now put in place.
01:47A detailed instruction, in fact, let me tell you, had been given to Meta.
01:51They had responded almost with many, many pages of their response last week.
01:56But the NCPCR believes that there are some more questions that Meta now needs to answer.
02:00And they also now need to make sure that what comes under the Home Ministry, the IC4, that is something
02:06which looks at content on social media.
02:08Meta now on itself needs to make sure that they submit their reports under the IC4.
02:13So that is also something which we will see being discussed very keenly today.
