"ANG HINAHANAP PO NG ATING BAYAN AY HUSTISYA MULA SA SENADO,"

Retired Supreme Court justice Artemio V. Panganiban tells the senator-judges on Wednesday, Sept. 17, that the people are expecting justice from the Senate impeachment court, as it proceeds with its hearing with the amici curiae on the matter of the impeachment trial vote threshold.

Panganiban also claimed that it seems that the questions asked, and answers expected by senator-judges are based on their own points of view. (Video courtesy of Senate of the Philippines)

00:00President, Officer, just one comment.
00:04Of course, Chief Justice, CJ Panganiwan.
00:06It seems to me, Your Honours, that your questions as well as the answers you seek are from the point
00:15of view of the senators.
00:18I would like to say that in my part that I'm talking about justice for our people.
00:25Yes.
00:26Justice for our people.
00:28What do our people expect from you?
00:32It's not legalism.
00:33It's not judicial conduct.
00:37It is justice for our people.
01:28In other words, your honors, I speak from the point of view of those of our people, not from the
01:36point of view of the judges.
