00:00President Trump went on the offensive Tuesday against his three conservative picks for the
00:04nation's highest court, alleging in a Truth Social post that Justices Amy Coney Barrett,
00:09Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh were, quote, not the people I interviewed, and were, quote,
00:15a shell of their original selves. The Truth Social blow-up came after the three Trump-appointed
00:21justices joined their liberal colleagues in barring the U.S. Postal Service from implementing
00:26new restrictions on mail-in voting, a significant blow to Trump's controversial effort to crack down
00:31on alleged fraud ahead of the contentious midterm elections. Only Justices Clarence Thomas and
00:37Samuel Alito, appointees of George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, respectively, sided with Trump,
00:43who asked the high court to stay a lower court decision in joining the new mail-in voting
00:48regulation. The Supreme Court has really let our country down. Certain justices are petrified of
00:53these crazed and depraved Democrats and are totally unable to show the courage necessary
00:58to save our America, Trump wrote. This Supreme Court is bullied and cajoled by the radical left
01:04into making decisions that have set America back at least 100 years. Trump signed an executive order
01:10in March calling on the U.S. Postal Service to tighten rules around absentee ballots, ostensibly to
01:16reduce fraud. The new regulations, finalized on August 26, would have required states to adopt a
01:22uniform envelope style for mail-in ballots and submit a list of eligible voters. 24 states and
01:28the government of Washington, D.C. sued to block the order. In his concurring opinion, Kavanaugh
01:34expressed concern about the short window of time for the rules to be implemented ahead of the
01:38midterms. Alito, joined by Thomas, argued in a dissent that Trump's new regulation likely was lawful,
01:44arguing that the plaintiffs and courts, quote, bear a substantial share of the blame for the rule's
01:49timing. This isn't the only time Trump's SCOTUS nominees have ruled against the president on
01:54major cases. In February, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that Trump couldn't use emergency powers to
02:00impose sweeping tariffs on foreign imports. As part of a major tariff push, Trump had used the
02:06International Emergency Economic Powers Act to apply broad, across-the-board levies, including a
02:1210% baseline rate and additional tariffs on America's three biggest trading partners over the
02:17shipping of fentanyl to the United States. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the majority opinion,
02:23squashing one of the president's marquee policies, and was joined by the court's three liberal justices
02:28and Trump-appointed conservative justices Barrett and Gorsuch. Trump briefly tore into the Supreme
02:33Court during his State of the Union address, calling their decision, quote, unfortunate. So despite the
02:39disappointing ruling, these powerful countries saving, it's saving our country the kind of money we're
02:46taking in. In June, Trump was dealt another blow when the Supreme Court smacked down the president's
02:51executive order denying birthright citizenship to children of illegal immigrants and tourists in a
02:575-4 ruling. Writing for the majority, Roberts rejected the, quote, dramatically revisionist view of
03:03the 14th Amendment and was joined by Barrett and the court's three liberal justices. Kavanaugh found that
03:08Trump's order did not violate the 14th Amendment, but did violate federal law from the 1940s and 1950s.
03:15Trump pushed hard for SCOTUS to uphold his executive order, even though the administration had not been
03:20expected to prevail. Trump even made history with his tenacity, becoming the first ever sitting U.S.
03:26president to attend Supreme Court oral arguments when justices heard the case in April. Trump bashed the
03:32decision during an Oval Office press meeting and signed two more orders to rein in further tourism.
03:38I thought we were going to win it at the Supreme Court. Unfortunately, we had a bad decision,
03:42very unfair decision. Our country suffers because of it, and we're ending it a different way.
03:47Supreme Court, you don't want to do so on this one. If you did a four rule,
03:47you should be the one of the most important things in the United States. You can be for
03:48the fourth rule, so that the Supreme Court or the Indian Department of the National
03:48Club of the National Schoolroom, and there is you. You can do it at all this one. If you're going
