00:00Initially, I kept my Parkinson's diagnosis a secret.
00:03I worried that it would affect my work and my relationships with audiences,
00:08but they lacked if they knew I was sick.
00:11And then I was stunned by the support I got.
00:13The support from all of you,
00:15who were so uplifting and just made me feel like I keep doing this.
00:22I hadn't lost, but I do.
00:23And that you couldn't take it away from me.
00:25And it's because you stood up for me.
00:27And I appreciate it.
00:37I understood that accepting Parkinson's didn't mean I had to surrender to it.
00:42It just meant doing what I could for everyone living with this disease.
00:45So I set up to advocate for patients' needs and raise money.
00:49And to propel us towards a cure.
00:52I found brilliant people to lead the effort.
01:00And vowed to fund the best science in the world.
