00:00My position on this is that this new technology, more than the fact that it's involved in the mass killing,
00:05it's involved in creating the justification for things that should not be justified.
00:10It's involved in selling the killing to the Western world.
00:14AI relies on data, so there is a direct connection between AI and mass surveillance,
00:20because when an army like Israel, which is controlling Gaza, the telecommunication infrastructure,
00:25they can estimate how many people will be killed in each house if they want.
00:28This is called the NASA, estimate.
00:30You can pretty much bomb anywhere you want.
00:32You can bomb any building you want, and then using your vast mass surveillance apparatus,
00:37you can manufacture some kind of justification.
00:40Wherever you bomb, whoever you kill, if a journalist comes to you and says,
00:44well, why did you do that?
00:46You can find something in your data, because you have infinite data,
00:49and you have AI that is able to create things out of it.
00:52The atmosphere is so revenge-fed and so genocidal, in a sense.
00:56You think maybe if it's a human in the loop, it's even worse.
00:58You are sitting in a room, you're in front of a screen, you see people as dots,
01:03you call them NASA, collateral damage.
01:05And then AI creates another layer of removal,
01:07because now you're not even able to fully explain why an individual was selected to be killed or not killed.
01:15We also show in our film that, on the other hand,
01:17these intelligence officers are listening with their headphones into apartments
01:20and hearing a baby crying and hearing family talking.
01:23The system is built on bombing families inside homes.
01:26They know that this is happening.
01:28So they can't also say, oh, we are relying on AI and we didn't know.
01:31So I think both of these things are true at the same time.
