00:02Bronze bodies searching for gold.
00:04I never thought that I'd join, like, do a bodybuilding,
00:09because I know how hard it is.
00:10But I was talking to one member, and then she said,
00:14Anna, we need to support Darwin, we need more athletes,
00:17we are the only stage who doesn't have the bodybuilding show.
00:21And then I said, OK, I'll do it.
00:24The Darwin-based mother making her stage debut
00:27with just 14 weeks of preparation,
00:30half the time most dedicate to their transformation.
00:33From weighing macronutrients to training and learning to pose,
00:37her new hobby has become a lifestyle.
00:40The harder part is to find time to do the workout.
00:44Usually the strength part takes, like, 30, 45 minutes,
00:47but as I didn't have much time to prep myself,
00:50I had to do a lot of cardio,
00:52so it was, like, one now and 30 minutes cardio a day,
00:55seven days a week.
00:57But it's not just about looking the part.
01:00We want to show our children that we can do something,
01:05you know, not just boys' sports,
01:08and mum can do that.
01:10For almost a decade, a lack of professional trainers
01:13has forced Darwin's bodybuilders into state to compete.
01:17Now, in its second year, organisers hope shows like this one
01:21can help revive the local sporting scene.
01:24It's really good to have this competition
01:26because it allows our competitors to, especially first-timers,
01:30to get up on stage, practise some posing,
01:33and then they can travel interstate for nationals
01:35and have that preparation.
01:37They don't have the expense of flights and accommodation.
01:39They can actually just compete here in the NT.
01:42And while nationals may be further down the track,
01:45these competitors are looking forward to one thing.
01:48What are you going to eat after this?
01:50Oh, I think a carbonara.
01:53Oh, with a lot of sauce on the top.
01:56Savouring success.
01:57Never quit.
01:58Nevertheless, yes,
01:59I think you may want to identify-
