00:00Okay, so the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles, both teams changing things up a little bit in the offseason. Washington
00:06simply hoping, Joe, that the injuries that they had to their quarterback and some of their other skill position players
00:12was the reason why they went from two years ago being the darling of the NFL to this past season
00:17being the opposite of that.
00:19A lot of people poking fun at Jane Daniels for wanting his number retire. That was really the story of
00:23their offseason more than anything else. Philadelphia Eagles and Howie Roseman, Joe, they're always a solid team. They're always a
00:30team that's going to be in the playoff mix and probably a team that's always going to be in the
00:33Super Bowl mix.
00:34They decided to part ways with AJ Brown, just simply saying to themselves, we'll put Devonta Smith there. We think
00:40that he can do a lot of the same damage that he did previously. Jalen Hurts, always an underrated quarterback
00:45in the NFL as well. And boy, the point spread is certainly telling you that maybe this is one of
00:50those games that has blowout written all over it, because generally a division game to start a season, you don't
00:56see teams laying five or six points, but Philadelphia is today.
00:59You don't, but I'm actually oddly confident in the Eagles in this one. The reason is one of the strengths
01:05of the Eagles to that defensive front and the glaring weakness right now with that tonsil injury out for the
01:10year on the commander side is that offensive line. They, the, all the reports are, this is a hot mess.
01:16The offensive line looks like Swiss cheese. That's not good for the Jaden Daniels health of staying upright. You've got
01:22some weather in this game too, or some soggy fields and some issues there with some rain here on the
01:26East coast of things.
01:28Look, I think the Eagles certainly have a lot to prove without AJ Brown. Maybe they go out there with
01:32a little bit of a, just kind of a feeling of, okay, now we can just go play. We don't
01:35have any other distractions. I think you see a lot of Saquon Barkley in this game.
01:39I think you hammer the under on Ja'Cory Krosky Merritt in the rushing total here. I think there's going
01:43to be a long day for them. A lot of third and longs, him not on the field necessarily. You
01:48might see some more Rashad White potentially as well.
01:50Uh, to me, because of the mix, because of the circumstance, because the offensive line versus that defensive line, you
01:56win football games in the trenches. And right now, like I said, the biggest asset of the Eagles is facing
02:01basically the biggest deficit of the commanders.
02:04And I don't think when those two things match up, it's a good thing for the commanders or this five
02:08and a half commanders looking for a big bounce back season was not the season.
02:13They wanted being knocked out before the end of the season without even a chance to make the playoffs.
