00:09come September 12th, while the summit definitely was the focus of attention,

00:32who has, in fact, been at the helm of affairs when we speak of the West Asia war.
00:37It's Iran's president, Masood Paseshkia, that we're speaking about,
00:41who came out in his exclusive candid conversation with India Today
00:45to express how Iran's ties with India has only been deepening in the recent times.
00:52He's underlined that the two countries share historic ties with strong cultural links.
00:57He's also said that his relationship with Prime Minister Modi on a one-on-one basis

01:06Speaking on his bilateral with the Prime Minister just a day before that had taken place,
01:11Paseshkia has noted that the two leaders discussed Indian investment at length in Chabar,
01:16adding that Tehran is ready to further expand the trade ties that already exist with India.
01:21He's also, in fact, gone ahead to speak on the mission of BRICS,
01:25saying the grouping's intention is to break totalitarianism
01:29and challenge what he describes as U.S.'s unilateralism,
01:33in fact, a point that he made while addressing a press conference in Tehran
01:39right before he left for the BRICS summit.
01:42He stressed that the BRICS nations must work together to support one another
01:46and counter the unilateral pressure that has been underway for quite some time
01:52in the geopolitical landscape.

02:09What was the focal point of the discussion?
02:17I would like to say that our relation with the Honourable Prime Minister of India
02:24since the time that I took office
02:27is increasingly getting better on a daily basis.
02:31And, in fact, because of that deep cultural relations that we had with each other,
02:39the two countries of Iran and India enjoy a long history in, actually, within several millennia.
02:49And this is not something which would change during time.
02:52And, naturally, we are trying to improve these relations on a daily basis
03:00and base it on the deeply rooted culture.
03:05And we would be able to build a new structure upon that
03:10and help each other in order to counter the totalitarianism,
03:17which is developing in the world, and help out each other.
03:20President, sir, you also addressed the Business Economic Forum.
03:25How viable is Iran for investors to look at Iran?
03:31Because at a time when you're looking at sanctions,
03:34they're not international sanctions, they're US sanctions,
03:37they're country-based sanctions, no country should be honouring them.
03:40But, nonetheless, amid those sanctions,
03:43how can Indian businesses work in Iran or with Iran?
03:48You see, the objective of BRICS and what we have come here for
03:56is that regarding the trend which has begun by the US
04:02and, you know, actually it sanctions any country its wishes,
04:08on the other hand, the BRICS intention is to break this kind of totalitarianism.
04:15That is why BRICS was developed and we're supposed to change the type of interactions
04:21and the type of trade and cooperation regardless of –
04:27and independent from the fact that one country may be, you know,
04:32at whim to sanction other countries.
04:35So we are here to help each other and to support each other
04:41so that this unilateralism can be fought against.
04:46And this is the objective of this summit meeting with great countries of the world
04:54like China, India and Russia.
04:57So we are here and we try to derail America from this unilateralism.
05:04This is the mission and responsibility of this summit that we have to fulfil.

05:16President, sir, during the discussion that we had with each other,
05:23overall we talked about various orientations and approaches.
05:29India can invest there.
05:33Currently, it has some investments and it is underway.

05:45We can have a kind of partnership or cooperation with each other.
05:51So we can – I mean, regarding various issues,
05:54we can have a network of interactions.
05:56So we are ready and in all those choices,
