00:00Just picking up on what you said about pre-season and creating challenges,
00:04can you give us an example of, did you sort of deliberately sanitize the flight for example?
00:13We cannot get that done yet, but just delayed the meals, delayed the transports,
00:20took a different route.
00:22We've done many things, made the dressing room hotter, more difficult, more challenging, less beds.
00:29Those kind of things that I think, in my opinion, are, because we're going to have to adapt to different
00:33contexts
00:33and we will try to anticipate it and create the best possible conditions.
00:39But then when there is not that element of surprise or stress on match day, I think it's important.
00:44And just on Decker Rice, he's obviously a small sample size this season,
00:49but he's playing, it seems, a bit deeper and a bit more like when he first came as a number
00:54six.
00:55Is that a deliberate thing to change his position?
00:58Perhaps linked to last year and how many games he played and the amount of miles he covered?
01:03He continues to cover the miles, but in a different role.
01:07It's just to, I think, to create the right synergies in and around the team
01:10and to put his qualities to the service of the team,
01:14especially in the way the opponents are behaving against us, which I think is really important.
01:19And Declan can do it. You put him in a different role, he will do it.
01:22But at the moment, I think he feels really comfortable doing what he's doing.
01:26He's played with different partners in midfield and will continue to adapt his game in relation to the needs of
01:32the team.
01:33He said on Wednesday that he's ready to play in those 65 games this season.
01:38Do you share that? Do you want him to do that or do you want to relieve the load a
01:42little bit?
01:44Ready? I think he can be ready.
01:46I think it's the quality of those minutes of those games and the need that the team should have to
01:51do that.
01:52And I think we need to be very smart to understand and to try to get the best out of
01:57him,
01:58but especially the quality that we need in the minutes that he plays.
02:02I was just going to ask you about the kind of style of play, really, this season.
02:07The second goal on Sunday was out as well.
02:10The performance the other night, you created more than four XG.
02:14The Italian champions were just over a year ago, less than 0.5.
02:19Is that something natural that you dominate in games?
02:24Is that because players have come back or how do you see it?
02:27How much are you actually enjoying yourself to get these kind of goals?
02:31Obviously, we have to continue to evolve and improve in certain areas
02:35and that's an area that we have put a lot of emphasis as well.
02:39Now that we have a lot of players back, the opportunities and the synergies that we create
02:46with the team are much stronger and we're going to continue to be like that.
02:51That's always the intention.
02:52Sometimes it's the level of the opponents, sometimes it's the level of our execution
02:56that has to increase as well to be much more efficient and dominant throughout the games
03:00and we'll continue to do that.
03:02Did you enjoy it personally?
03:03Because you were always involved in Stardust teams, you were that sort of player yourself.
03:08Was that always your target?
03:10It is always...
03:11It's not just a win, but a win with players.
03:13Yes, for sure.
03:14I think it's for players but just making sure that what happens on that pitch is what we want
03:19and having that dominating and control and threat mind.
03:27And I like a lot of what I've seen so far from the team.
03:31Ed?
03:32Go ahead.
03:32Hi, Michael.
03:33Just following on from the sort of workload question about Declan,
03:36more generally about the whole team.
03:38You had so many players that were involved in the late stages of the World Cup.
03:41You didn't have that long of a break.
03:44Have you got concerns about that over the course of the long season?
03:48Is that going to come into your thinking when you're picking the team?
03:52Yeah, obviously we are very aware of the load
03:56and it's not just physical load, it's the cognitive load as well of every player
04:00and that's why every player has an individual plan
04:03and that we manage not only with the minutes that we play
04:06but as well with the amount of meetings and travel
04:09and the demands that we put in certain positions that require more information.
04:13We need to be very much aware of that.
04:16Let's see the amount of options that we have as well to make the right choices.
04:19Hopefully we have and if that's the case,
04:22obviously I think the decision will be better.
04:25And the international break is assuming you win over three weeks now.
04:30I mean, what are your thoughts on that?
04:31It's probably not ideal given that you're having had such a good start,
04:33it's even quite slow your momentum now.
04:35On the other hand, maybe some players could have a bit of a rest.
04:39Well, let's see how many players we have available.
04:42Obviously it's a different one.
04:44Before we used to say that three in a row was too much,
04:46now we're going to have two,
04:47so let's add up to something new.
04:50We'll try to make it good.
04:52And finally, Josh from the side.
04:54Hi.
04:56You just said that your contract is getting closer to being drawn up
05:01and signed for an extension.
05:03I know you're probably not going to tell me that you're going to put that in,
05:09but I also wanted to know when you first came to Arsenal,
05:12did you expect to be coming in a side of the Bayern State for this long,
05:17especially having played under Arsene Wenger and him being here for so long?
05:22Well, when I just joined,
05:24probably the only thing that I was thinking is,
05:26what do I do today?
05:27And I was big enough, especially when I didn't have any experience
05:31to manage any team at any level.
05:33So then you take the job day by day,
05:36and obviously it's been a few years now,
05:40which I'm really happy and grateful for.
05:43And yeah, let's see what happens for the future.
05:46And you've obviously won the league title now,
05:49but it looks like you're going to sign a new contract.
05:52What are you looking at going forward,
05:55and how long can you see yourself being here?
05:58Day by day.
05:59Obviously, we have to have a mid-long-term vision,
06:05which is to build the best club in the world.
06:07I think that has to be, without any question of a doubt,
06:10what we have to do.
06:11But in order to achieve that,
06:12there are a lot of things that you have to do daily
06:14to take you and give you the probability to achieving that.
06:18And then you have to rely so much on people.
06:20First of all, our owners and the fantastic motivation
06:26and ambition that they have to take this club to that point.
06:30And then, yeah, the level of connection that you built
06:32within the staff, within the players,
06:35and especially our supporters to create the right environment,
06:38the right ecosystem around it.
06:40Everybody align with the same ambition to daily try to achieve it.
06:46Okay, well, thanks very much.
