00:10I always say that for me they are one of the best ranked clubs in Europe.
00:15Really smart how they do that, really good at hiring the best people,
00:19the best professionals, great processes in place,
00:22and the consequence to that has been everything that they've done
00:25in the last few years as a club and as a team.
00:28So it's not a coincidence and when you have people like that
00:31you have to look to those places if you want to bring people
00:34that are better than you and bring different expertise to the club
00:37to help you bring success.
00:40Is there anything specifically that Brentford do that you looked at?
00:44Maybe a few years ago when you first came here and you thought
00:46that's what Arsenal need more of?
00:48Yeah, in terms of the structure that they had at the club
00:51and some people that I knew and I follow and the way they recruited,
00:54when they recruited, how they recruited, when they sold,
00:57and by players as well.
00:59Very interesting the profile of that, what they did with the academy,
01:03certain decisions that they made in the past as well
01:05and then understand what they've done afterwards as well.
01:09Really, really smart people.
01:10And last summer they lost their head coach central midfielder to you,
01:16Brian Burmo, the goalkeeper, and they're actually better than they were.
01:21Unbelievable.
01:21As a manager, how do you look at Keith Andrews and think the challenge he faced coming in there?
01:26As a manager, as a club, that means that the foundations are so strong
01:29and the culture is so strong and the way they want to play
01:34and the things that they put emphasis into to win games are very, very clear.
01:41If not, you're not able to do that.
01:43Simon.
01:43Hi, Miguel. Just a couple for me.
01:45Chris, last you went on Thiago having a brilliant season up front for Brentford.
01:49What do you make of him as a striker and how tough an opponent is he to deal with?
01:53Well, I think individually they have so many players that are doing an incredible season
01:58and it's not a coincidence, again, because it's not one or two.
02:02You're talking about the striking in this case, but there are a lot that they've been doing that.
02:07That's great to the players, the managers, and the belief that they have in what they do.
02:12Keith was a set-piece coach.
02:15We've seen, obviously yourself, with clubs all over the Premier League,
02:18the kind of rise of the set-piece coaches and particularly who they are on the spot.
02:22Do you think we're going to see more of that set-piece coaches going on to be number ones?
02:26And on that, do you ever worry about someone looking at Niko and thinking
02:29he might not be a bad manager?
02:33I don't know. I think that's more related to the desire that somebody has to fulfil his
02:42football career if he wants to go in one direction or another one.
02:47So I think that's something very, very personal.
02:49And finally to Gary.
02:50Can I ask you about David Breyer?
02:54Mm-hm.
02:55What are the differences you see from him in training?
02:58What does he do differently in training as opposed to maybe when he first arrived
03:02where there was a little bit of discussion about him and Aaron,
03:05and now he just seems to be the saves he's making,
03:08and then crucial saves at crucial times in games?
03:12In terms of training, not really.
03:15Probably, you know, we have evolved and he has evolved as well.
03:18I think you need to find your place, your role,
03:21and you need to be confident with that.
03:23And I think that's something that happens gradually
03:26when you come to a big club like Arsenal and with Aaron
03:29and how much we liked and respected Aaron.
03:32It's not easy to do it.
03:34So he needed some time to do that.
03:36But I think it was quite an immediate impact that David had in the team.
03:40And then obviously he evolved as the team evolved
03:42with the necessities that we have as a team to be better.
03:46Okay, good.
03:48Good.
03:48That's all.
03:49Thank you, guys.
03:52Good luck.
03:56Sorry, I missed that.
03:57Good luck.
