00:00This isn't your typical wine country trip. Thanks to an extinct volcano, this region in
00:03British Columbia, Canada has some of the most agriculturally rich soil in the world that's
00:07perfect for winemaking. Start off by checking into Hotel El Dorado in Kelowna. While in Kelowna,
00:11Canada's first UNESCO creative city of gastronomy, I headed to some of their most acclaimed vineyards
00:16and their restaurants. Mission Hill Family Estate is the first Canadian winery on the
00:20world's 50 best vineyards list and I got to sample some of their best breads straight from
00:24the source. At Cedar Creek, I learned exactly where each culinary offering was sourced on
00:28the property. I loved getting to slow down at Quail's Gate and enjoy a delicious five-course
00:32meal, each paired with one of their sustainably sourced wine. You also can't visit BC without
00:36getting outside, but since this is wine country, I decided to do a laid-back e-bike ride. On the
00:40Kettle Valley Rail Trail, you'll stop by the little tunnel for the views and ride through beautiful
00:45vineyards along the lake. I had a final dinner at Elma, a modern Turkish restaurant whose dishes are
00:49crafted with more fresh and flavorful local ingredients. From the chef to sommeliers to
00:53locals, everyone here is so warm, friendly, and passionate about this region. I can't recommend
00:58visiting valleys and vineyards enough.
