00:36So it's not like we go out and socialise and go to the pub or anything like that.
00:40Everyone goes home to their families.
00:44And, you know, before you know it, you've done ten episodes.

00:47Now, I feel like with Tom Hardy, we've got, I was given kind of Sam Carmichael if he didn't get
00:53the divorce.
00:54Do you know what I mean? He is not happy. He's not having a good time.
00:58So, I was wondering, with this kind of journey of being very volatile and violent,
01:03what drew you to this character? Why was it him you wanted to portray?
01:07Guy Ritchie.
01:09Guy sent me a script. It wasn't called the Mobland. It wasn't called Mobland.
01:15He sent me a script and Ronan Bennett was the writer.
01:20Ronan created it with Guy.
01:23And I said, yeah, I'm in.
01:25Ellen and I had been working on Thursday Murder Club.
01:29She said, have you read it? I said, yeah.
01:31Can I do it? I said, yeah, I want to do it.
01:33I want to come back to London. I want to work in London.
01:36She read it. She said, okay, I'm in.
01:43My mom's 94. She's here. I have my son Christopher here.
01:48I have friends here, good mates here.
01:51I started my career as an actor on the stage.
01:55Repertory theater, BBC costume drama, West End.
02:00So, you know, I've been an actor since I was 80.
02:04And with that, I mean, loyalty is like a crucial currency in Mobland.
02:10So, with someone with your, you know, lifetime of experience working in an industry of film and TV,
02:15what's the kind of currency that you would say is in the film and TV industry?
02:18What kind of what?
02:19Like the currency. You've got loyalty in Mobland.
02:22That is something that's so vital.
02:24But when it comes to Hollywood, when it comes to film and TV,
02:27what's that like vital resource to stay alive?
02:30I never think about myself being in Hollywood.
02:32I'm just a working actor.
02:34I just happened to, you know, I went to L.A. back in 1982.
02:38And it gave me my career.
02:40I had a TV show.
02:42So, I never think, I never, I go to work on films.
02:46And I go home to my family.
02:48I work for my family.
02:50I work to educate my children.
02:53And to build good homes and good lives for them.
02:56And I'm blessed with loving what I do.
03:01And having some bit of talent to do it.
03:04And patience.
03:05Yeah, lots of patience.
