00:12mom when we didn't have much use for having it around. But it sat in the barn on a family

00:18where he now has retired for the last 17 years. So this is 17 years of barn debris. If I'm

00:23mistaken, your dad actually took this to the initial screening of Back to the Future. He had
00:29me do that. Oh, you were the one that took it? Yeah. The movie had just come out and it
00:33was playing here in town in Crystal Lake at what is now a performing arts center. And
00:37Back to the Future was playing so I took a date during college. When we came out we were pretty
00:41sheepish because a lot of people were gathered around this car. And it had been bought brand
00:45new from the dealership? Yep. Wow. So it's been a one family car its whole entire life. It has. It's
00:49gone to the Back to the Future showing. I mean, this is quite a special car with clearly a lot
00:54of memories. But then when we found out after this conversation with Mike completely caught
00:58us off guard. His dad who originally owned this car was diagnosed with cancer and passed
01:02away on Christmas day in 1986. Leaving this DeLorean as the only car their family had. Sadly
01:08his mom couldn't afford to get another car for the family and they were stuck driving it all
01:13the way up until 1992 when she sold it to the uncle. So we're going to surprise her with
01:18it at the end of this video and we need to make it look perfect.
01:59Mike was not giving up on this engine. And after looking through all the wires, he found
02:04one that it looks like mice chewed through. And after fixing it, we have Spark. So the DeLorean
02:09runs under its own power. And now we can tell the owners that this engine is salvageable.
