World Champions France beat Spain 2-1 in the Quarter Finals. Portugal beat surprise qualifiers Turkey 2-0.

00:00France haven't lost to Portugal for 25 years and with their regular back four of Turan, Blanc, Desailly and Lizarrazu,

00:11But it's a midfield player who takes the plaudits tonight because the French captain Didier Deschamps of Chelsea becomes the

00:55Portugal haven't conceded a goal in this tournament since Steve McManaman made it 2-0 to England in Eindhoven over

01:02That's 342 minutes of football. And they've already stolen a march on the French by arriving at the stadium early
01:09and claiming the home dressing room, which was supposed to go to France.
01:13As it happens, Portugal will be playing at home in four years' time when they host the next European Championship.

01:26France are playing in their chain strip of all-white, and they're being watched, among others, by President Chirac.
