00:00I love seeing Eric Repair show up. How did that come about?
00:04That was a function of us having a great relationship with the estate
00:08and me realizing that we had a role in the film for the person who admits Bourdain into cooking school.
00:17I thought, oh, I wonder if this is too cute, like to have a cameo from somebody who not only
00:23is in this world
00:24but had a relationship with him, and it's so funny.
00:27I should have a better canned answer for exactly how that happened.
00:30But all I remember is Eric showing up on set.
00:34I'm with Dom, and he and I go to meet him in his trailer.
00:37And I just talked about this, us wondering, okay, are we going to talk about Anthony Bourdain?
00:40Are we going to talk about their time together?
00:43And all he wanted to do was get his lines right.
00:45And so we sat with him for about an hour and a half just going over the lines
00:49because he never acted in anything ever.
00:51He'd never been on camera acting.
00:54And so he was like, so how does this work?
00:55He's a French guy.
00:56He speaks English as a second language.
00:58And so the focus of all of our time together was let's really make you look good
01:03and make you comfortable.
01:04And so when you watch that final scene with him, like, that is me and Dom,
01:08I won't say coaching, but doing everything that the two of us can
01:12to get him in that place to give that performance.
01:14Oh, I love that.
01:15Yeah.
01:15He's a great guy.
01:16He's a great guy.
01:17Very kind person.
