00:00Oh, happy back-to-school season.
00:03Yeah, a lot of kids have gone back already.
00:07Today is my son's first day of school.
00:09Today's also my daughter's first day of classes,
00:11although I don't know that she's actually going
00:13because they have a volleyball tournament at another school,
00:17so they're traveling today.
00:18So I think she's missing her entire first week of college classes.
00:22And your son is leaving the first day early
00:24because of the golf team that he had made on the high school team,
00:28which is so cool.
00:29That's why it pays to be an athlete or a detriment,
00:32but for my kids, no, for sure.
00:34Get out of school early.
00:35That's what they're all about.
00:36Yeah, and my daughter started preschool, oh my gosh, yesterday,
00:41and we had an incredible morning.
00:43It was great.
00:44First of all, I just want to say, quick side note,
00:46it was so nice being home yesterday.
00:48So it's nothing when we pick up for each other,
00:51but thank you guys because it was so nice being home,
00:55seeing her, getting her dressed,
00:56taking the pictures with the board and everything was so adorable.
00:59However, there was a giant glaring issue right after the Sesame Street gate.
01:05That's right.
01:06Sesame Place.
01:07On a day it was closed.
01:09Sesame Place closed on weekdays starting September 1st,
01:11and I was there September 1st on a weekday.
01:13My daughter, we had a couple friends over over the weekend,
01:16and she wanted to show all the kids.
01:18There's like seven kids in my house that just walked in the front door
01:21because that's that kind of neighborhood.
01:24Come see my playroom.
01:25Bang.
01:26Trips over one of Bodie's toys trying to jump over it,
01:29hits her face on the floor, black eye.
01:32Oh my gosh.
01:33And it's worse today, the black eye, than it was yesterday on the first day of school.
01:38Oh my gosh.
01:39So I see one of the teachers of the school lives in our neighborhood,
01:43and we're at a party, and she's like,
01:44oh, you might want to tell the teachers and the principal what happened.
01:47I'm like, absolutely, I will.
01:50I just hope I don't do what I always do, which is over-explain things,
01:53and then that just looks weird.
01:55Yeah.
01:56So they're like, oh, what happened, McKinley?
01:58And I said, okay, so here's what happened.
01:59It was approximately 10-15, and da-da-da-da-da.
02:04Maybe TMI.
02:05Maybe a little too much information on that.
02:06As long as you have an alibi, you're good.
02:09Well, I was right there for it, but I do have witnesses.
02:12But then, you know, she has such chunky cheeks, you can't even really tell,
02:16because when she smiles, it kind of like deletes it.
02:18Yeah, you can't see it in the photos, which is a blessing, you know,
02:24but it's also like, wait, do you, oh, oh, McKinley, do you feel safe at home?
02:30Yeah, exactly.
02:30And I hope, I mean, it's that kind of school, too.
02:33They're like, we love your kids first, we teach them second.
02:35And I'm like, yeah, me too, same, I promise.
02:37I swear.
02:38I swear.
02:39But listen, you know, sending your kid to school with a black eye,
02:44like literally her first day of school ever.
02:46This is something you'll never forget, Jeff.
02:48Halfway to go.
02:49Just like I will never forget Leonard's last day of middle school,
02:53last first day of middle school,
02:55when I just didn't know school had started and did not send him
02:59and didn't know it until 7 o'clock that night.
03:02I'm not going to lie, you'd be the best mom ever.
03:04That's how connected I am.
03:06I almost died.
03:09I wanted to crawl in a hole.
03:12Like, I almost dug my own grave.
03:13I was, I felt horrible.
03:16I'm driving him to football practice that night.
03:17And he's like, I think we had school today, mom.
03:21Oh, my gosh.
03:22Stop.
03:23Like, what do you do in that?
03:25Like, what is your reaction to that?
03:28Yeah.
03:28I was like, I don't even remember.
03:31I don't even remember.
03:32But I think I went back and looked at the school calendar,
03:35which I know that I had put in my calendar.
03:38So I do think that the day changed.
03:41Right.
03:41I think that at the beginning of the summer,
03:42it was supposed to be one day,
03:43and it ended up being another day.
03:45And I just never went back to look again.
03:47But anyway, I called and sent emails and all the things.
03:51And I was like, this is all on me.
03:53I'm an idiot.
03:54You know that I'm an idiot.
03:56I'm the worst mom ever.
03:58And I own it.
03:59But today, got him off onto the school bus.
04:02And the school bus arrived, right?
04:04Like, it wasn't a day early.
04:05Because I know families who have done that.
04:07Got their kids dressed.
04:08School bus doesn't show up because school starts tomorrow.
04:11Yeah.
04:11I mean, it was about an hour ago,
04:13and he hasn't walked back in the house.
04:15So I'm guessing that, yes, the bus did.
04:17He just walked.
04:18The doors are locked.
04:19Check the porch, though.
04:19Oh, wow.
04:20Yeah.
