00:00How do you feel about it?
00:04No, it's very, very diverse.
00:07You know, in Spain, the movies I've done,
00:09or usually one of the movies that are like commercial movies,
00:12and of course, like author-driven movies,
00:15like talking about deeper aspects of life, you know.
00:18My movies are the same.
00:20We're working on commercial movies,
00:22but always we want to work in other kind of, like,
00:27deeper feeling movies.
00:30I want to keep that, doing that, because it's very important.
00:32I feel here in India, there's, as I said,
00:35a big opportunity for that too.
00:37In India, I don't know, because it's my first time here,
00:40but I feel that in Spain,
00:42the big movies you have here, you are doing here,
00:45are not well-known there in Spain.
00:48And for sure, there are like big movies
00:50and very well-done movies.
00:51I want to see all these movies
00:53and trying to understand if it's a market for them there.
00:57because I work as a distributor.
01:00We do theatrical distribution in Spain,
01:03and there is a very big, big, big industry here.
01:06So I try to understand why they are not connected,
01:09and it's not because of cultural aspects.
01:11There are other kind of movies, other kind of stories,
01:15other kind of things that we can bring to Spain.
01:20That is one of my targets here.
01:24Since you flipped from Barcelona to India,
01:27and now there are two.
01:27Yeah.
01:28I think there are stories that can be connected,
01:31you know, and can open the mind of both countries.
01:33Because I feel like Indian people and Spain people
01:36get along very well.
01:38We have the same kind of way of being, you know.
01:40And I feel that if we can develop stories
01:45that connect with both countries,
01:47it can be a lot of big, very big movies, you know.
01:50Like people traveling, people connecting, people meeting.
01:53We have a very big opportunity, I'm sure.
01:55Great.
01:56I'm really happy for you.
01:58I'm impressed.
01:59I'm very curious about everything.
02:00People are super nice, you know.
02:04I'm really looking forward to coming here.
02:06Yeah, yeah.
02:06I like the festival and I like the people, yeah.
02:09I mean, I'm very delighted with the light.
02:12You know, the light, it's amazing.
02:13But also the, you know, the mountain, the lake,
02:15how the light is reflected on the lake.
02:18But I really would like to come back, for example,
02:20during the winter,
02:20because I don't imagine the mountain with all the snow.
02:25So, I think it's a very good place where stories can happen.
02:30So, yeah, of course, I mean, I arrived yesterday,
02:32so I didn't have a lot of time to think about it.
02:34But, of course, I'm very inspired for the country.
02:36You know, the light, the light, it's very special.
02:40I think you can not compare, for example,
02:42if you go to this festival,
02:43because if you go, it's the biggest,
02:45one of the biggest festivals all over the world.
02:47And it's been running for many, many years.
02:49This is the first edition.
02:50So, it's not, I mean, you cannot compare it
02:52because there are different, right?
02:54But I think that it's very important for the industry
02:56to make these kind of festivals.
02:58And I hope this is not, I mean, it's the first year,
03:00but not the last year.
03:01So, maybe this is the first year of many, many, many years.
03:05Because, you know, that's what you said,
03:06to make this platform from the industry,
03:09to meeting people, to bring people to Kashmir,
03:11to know the city, to know the opportunities,
03:13but also to know places, locations, the crew, local crew,
03:17if there is any, and if there is not,
03:19to start to teaching, you know, the local people,
03:23how do they can be involved in the industry.
03:26I think it's very, very important.
03:28So, that's why, I mean, and not for being not,
03:32for not for being if you go, it is worse.
03:34Of course, it's not.
03:35I think it's different.
03:36And I think the focus has to be to make this festival
03:39bigger and bigger and bigger,
03:40and to have it many, many years, not just one year.
03:43I don't really know it here now, because, you know,
03:46it depends on the movie, it depends on the story,
03:47it depends on the, with the co-producers,
03:49it depends on many, many, many things.
03:51But I'm sure that I will hire, of course,
03:54Indian cast and, of course, Indian crew,
03:56because, you know, I shot here a movie two years ago,
03:59the first in the Spanish co-production of the story,
04:01and Indian crew was very, very good.
04:03And also, I know that there are super, super stars in Bollywood,
04:06in Spain, we know Patan very well,
04:08it was shot there in Spain, in Cadiz.
04:12But, so, I don't really know the names.
04:14I can't give you the names,
04:15because it depends on the project.
04:16But I'm sure that I will hire people,
04:18people, like crew, but also cast from India.
04:22But the ones who have the story,
04:23and then the dates and everything,
04:24we should make the cast, you know?
04:26But I will have India.
04:27And that's very interesting,
04:28because many people ask me, like,
04:29ah, you are the director as your father?
04:31I say, no, I'm not director, I'm a producer.
04:33And the job, it's very, very, very different,
04:35it's completely different.
04:36Of course, it's in the same industry.
04:38So, I work with many people that I knew
04:40because of my father.
04:41But the job is completely different.
04:42I make numbers, you know?
04:44Scheduling and everything,
04:45and he was a creative man.
04:48But, of course, he's, he was,
04:51and he wasn't, he is,
04:52he's not here anymore with us,
04:53but he's very helpful, helpful with me,
04:56because he, and my mother also,
04:58she's an actress,
04:59but because they show me how a shooting is,
05:02they show me how the industry is,
05:03I know many people because of them.
05:06But then I think that every person
05:08has to have their own way,
05:09and you have to work very hard,
05:11and this is something that is not given.
05:13No, it doesn't matter your surname,
05:15or who you are.
05:16But, of course, I'm very, very thankful to my father
05:18to show me how the industry is.
05:21But then, apart of that, you know,
05:23I'm making my own way as a producer,
05:25that it's very different of what he did.
05:28And, of course, promoting his legacy,
05:29and his, his person around, around the world.
05:33Right.
