00:50if they are behaving normally, if they are lively and also to see if they've put on weight.
00:55So this is a crucial stage because it allows us not only to feed them, but also to act

01:09Since returning to Cote d'Ivoire, he has made it his mission to raise awareness about aquaponics
01:15across the country.
01:19Faced with water issues, the problems of land scarcity, the availability of water in sufficient
01:25quantity and of good quality, and the need for market garden resources in city centers,
01:31aquaponics is emerging as a method, or at least as one of the alternatives that can help resolve
01:37these problems.
01:38A closed ecosystem, water efficient, free from pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

01:48Here, everything grows in the same place, just a few meters from the consumer.
01:55This technique is appealing to a new generation of residents here in Cote d'Ivoire.

02:22Not only do you have fish in six months, but before those six months are up, you'll be
02:27able to grow as many plants as you want, and that's what really stands out.
02:33According to the statistics, this agricultural model remains very much on the fringes for
02:39a population accustomed to traditional small-scale farming based on land use.
02:44Now a handful of pioneers such as Ludovic would like to establish this system on a large scale
02:51and popularize it in all the towns of Cote d'Ivoire.
