00:00You're probably going to want to write this down, I shouldn't be telling you guys this, but I'm definitely putting
00:04this on the final.
00:05Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for Spencer Reed's funniest, most brilliant, and most triumphant
00:12moments on Criminal Minds.
00:13Spoilers ahead for all 19 seasons of Criminal Minds, including Criminal Minds Evolution.
00:18Well then explain it to me, JJ, because all I know is my friend is hurting, and when I see
00:23her in pain, I want to make it stop.
00:26Number 30. Opening himself up to romance.
00:30Towards the beginning of the series, Reed is shown to be fairly shy and socially awkward, so it's nice to
00:35see him have a storyline that pushed him to open up a bit.
00:38I'm Lila.
00:39Hi, I'm Dr. Spencer Reed. I'm Spencer. You don't have to call me doctor.
00:45During the Somebody's Watching episode, Reed is tasked with protecting an actress named Lila Archer.
00:50It's clear the two instantly have a connection.
00:53As they avoid the obsessive person after Lila, we get to see a whole new side of Reed.
00:57At one point, he even enjoys an unexpected dip in the pool.
01:01Yeah, it's very funny. Laugh it up, Lila. Hilarious.
01:04Their pool hangout quickly leads to a makeout session.
01:07This isn't...
01:11Although their dip is ruined when Spencer brings up harsh case facts, seeing him open up to romance was very
01:17memorable.
01:18Number 29. Reed Sees Henry's Halloween Costume.
01:21Agents Reed and Jero have always had a very special relationship.
01:25Their strong bond made a Halloween moment especially sweet.
01:29Initially, JJ has trouble getting her son Henry excited about the holiday.
01:33One of his little buddies told him Halloween was the only time when all the real monsters come out because
01:36they can blend in.
01:37But the kid has a breakthrough and decides to dress up as his favorite profiler.
01:41Oh, yeah! Oh, wow! You look great, Henry!
01:48Put this on here.
01:49Oh, he's official!
01:52Tell her.
01:53E equals MC squared!
01:55Oh, there it is!
01:58After a great introduction, Henry walks in just like Reed.
02:01This costume reveal is far and away one of the most adorable things to ever happen on the show.
02:06Not only is Henry excited, but Reed is overjoyed that he was chosen as a role model.
02:12This scene made it clear to the doctor that he's had a positive influence on the people around him.
02:16Number 28. Exposing a second unsub.
02:19During a particularly tough-to-crack case, the BAU team struggled to prove that one man was behind all the
02:25crimes.
02:26But Reed made a major breakthrough.
02:28Where'd it take you?
02:29An unsearchable, untraceable blog with tons of journal entries. It's like some sort of diary.
02:34By analyzing blog posts that supposedly came from the unsub, he found small variations between entries.
02:40This led Spencer to directly deduce that there were two authors and thus two villains to worry about.
02:46One side of the discourse made reference to the Devil's Strip.
02:49What the hell's that?
02:51It's a small patch of grass that separates the sidewalk from the street.
02:54Now, that term is only used in central Ohio.
02:56William lived in Atlanta for 20 years, but he grew up in Columbus.
02:59His co-workers were so amazed that two of them even had a side conversation about how good the doctor
03:04is.
03:05While detectives tried to solve this one for years,
03:07only Reed could read between the lines and catch what every other detective had missed.
03:12Number 27. Reed invites Prentiss out.
03:15Although it was clear that Spencer had special relationships with J.J. and Morgan from the beginning,
03:20the doctor didn't share as many tender moments with Prentiss at first.
03:23But that changed after she had a particularly hard time on a case that hit close to home.
03:27Prentiss, what's going on with you?
03:31Oh, with me?
03:32I've been watching the last couple of days and something is obviously bothering you.
03:35As Prentiss arrives at her place, Reed called and invited her to a screening of Solaris.
03:40So, uh, you just called me out of the blue.
03:44Well, I mean, the original one's in Russian, so really you and I are the only ones that can really
03:47enjoy it.
03:48She initially thought that someone put him up to it.
03:50However, Reed quickly reassures Prentiss that he called her because he genuinely wanted them to have a good experience together.
03:56With a short call, he proved that he thought about her as much more than just a co-worker.
04:01This moment of friendship between the unlikely pair was absolutely beautiful.
04:06For what?
04:09For being you.
04:10Aw, thanks.
04:11I don't know how to be anyone else.
04:13Yeah.
04:14That's what I love about you.
04:17Bye.

04:27Looking snazzy, sir.
04:28I see you serving a casual Friday on a Thursday.
04:31Number 26.
04:32The Star Puzzle.
04:33A classic Reed moment was kicked off when Prentiss started working on a star puzzle.
04:37When the doctor asked what it was, she gave him a poetic fable about catching falling stars.
04:42So he frantically put it back together again to prove his undying love to her, and he succeeded, and they
04:48lived happily ever after.
04:49But Spencer didn't hesitate to poke holes in the logic of the morality tale.
04:54Prentiss attempted to shake off his inquiry by making a point that the puzzle itself is essentially unsolvable.
04:59However, Reed took it in his hands and put it together almost immediately.
05:03The point is, it's basically impossible to do because you have to take all of those pieces and fit them
05:08together exactly.
05:11If anyone but Reed was in this scene, his actions would come off as ridiculously annoying.
05:16But his obliviousness here made the Star Puzzle moment charming.
05:20And as Reed's team points out, there are worse games to play with him.
05:24Play poker with him sometime.
05:26Try playing chess with him.
05:28Well, go.
05:29Number 25.
05:30Playing cards.
05:31Being from Las Vegas, Nevada, it's no surprise that Reed knows his way around a poker table.
05:36And of course he can count cards.
05:38I bet you're a great poker player.
05:40But what if we sent in Reed?
05:42I am banned from casinos in Las Vegas, Laughlin, and Pahrump because of my card counting ability.
05:45When an unsub with a gambling problem starts killing people, the team heads to Atlantic City.
05:50To find him, someone needs to infiltrate an exclusive poker tournament.
05:54And while Rossi ultimately has to spend his own money for the buy-in,
05:58there's no denying that a genius like Reed should play.
06:16He doesn't stay in the game too long.
06:18Just enough time for him to identify the unsub.
06:21Thanks to Reed going undercover, they catch Curtis Banks and stop him from killing his last victim.
06:26Had Reed continued playing cards, he definitely would have cleaned up.
06:31He's an FBI agent.
06:32There he goes, tied shirt baseball hat.
06:34Number 24.
06:35Flirty Magic.
06:36While on a case in Atlanta, Reed is forced to go to a nightclub to warn women about an unsub.
06:41He's clearly out of his comfort zone.
06:43But at least he has Morgan there to hype him up and find his confidence.
06:47One of Reed's many talents is close-up magic.
06:50When you're talking, what makes you feel like an expert?
06:53Statistics.
06:53No.
06:54Trust me.
06:55No.
06:55Something else.
06:57When I do magic.
06:59See, see, that's perfect.
07:01Chicks did magic.
07:02With Morgan's encouragement, he walks up to a bartender named Austin and works his magical charm.
07:07Seriously though, it is an impressive trick.
07:09He has a scar on his eye right about there.
07:14We also know that he's taken classes where he's learned how to distract and charm his victim.
07:23We would have loved to see a romance blossom between these two, but we already know that the show never
07:28wants our Reed to be happy.
07:30Is this your card?
07:32Yeah, it is my card.
07:36Cool.
07:38Number 23, trapped in the elevator.
07:41While on their way to look around a recent victim's apartment, Spencer Reed and Derek Morgan make the mistake of
07:46taking the elevator.
07:47Shortly after they get in, the elevator stalls.
07:50Reed does what he does best and recites statistics.
07:53Don't do that.
07:54Why not?
07:55Because there are six elevator-related deaths per year, not to mention 10,000 injuries that require hospitalization.
08:00Chill out.
08:00That sounds like pretty good odds to me.
08:02What, are you scared of me?
08:02You're scared of me?
08:03I'm not scared.
08:04Morgan, meanwhile, presses every button and tries to pry the doors open.
08:08It's hard to say who was more scared, considering they both called out for their dad, or boss.
08:16They really should have taken the stairs with Hotch, but if they had, we would have missed out on one
08:20of the funniest scenes of the series.
08:23Reed's high-pitched call for Hotch is definitely a highlight.
08:26Was that the alarm?
08:27You guys okay?
08:28I'll get back to you on that.
08:29Number 22, deciphering the Fisher King's riddles.
08:32The BAU has had its share of unsubs who go after the team as a whole.
08:37Randall Garner, aka the Fisher King, was the first.
08:40While they're all targeted, it's a case that becomes very personal for Dr. Reed,
08:45requiring him to reveal certain aspects of his life to his colleagues.
08:48Five people fishing.
08:50Never would it be night, but always clear day to any man's sight.
08:56Oh, that was worth it.
08:57The unsub was in the same hospital as his mother Diana, through whom he gained intimate details about the team.
09:04Of course, Reed solves Garner's riddles.
09:06When they go to his house, he takes the lead and attempts to talk him down from detonating explosives.
09:11While the unsub doesn't make it out alive, Reed is able to save Rebecca like the hero that he is.
09:17It has been said time heals all wounds.
09:20I do not agree.
09:22The wounds remain.
09:24In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens.
09:30But it is never gone.
09:32Number 21, saving JJ.
09:34While JJ was being held hostage by an unsub, the killer orders her to offer up her last words.
09:40But he's not satisfied with just anything.
09:42The killer specifically wants her to say words that no one has ever heard her say.
09:47And you better make it good.
09:49Because if it's not, it's going to be the last thing you ever say.
09:51After JJ confesses that she loves Reed, the duo shares a meaningful look that speaks volumes.
09:57I've always loved you.
10:02And I was just too scared to say it before.
10:08And now things are just really too complicated to say it now.
10:11Before the killer can strike, the doctor reveals that he's cut through his bonds and puts the criminal down.
10:17Reed's incredible save made for an impressive moment on its own.
10:20However, the knowing look he gives JJ as soon as they're safe really made this exchange heartwarming.
10:31Number 20, playing chess.
10:34Reed might not have Morgan's outgoing personality or Hotch's strong but silent demeanor.
10:39But all of us Dr. Reed fans swoon at his understated charm.
10:42Why wouldn't she like you?
10:44Because I'm weird.
10:45I slouch, my hair is too long, my tie is perpetually crooked.
10:49So we were all excited when Reed found someone else that could appreciate him just as much.
10:53Unfortunately, it was tragically short-lived.
10:56When Maeve is captured by her stalker, Reed pulls out all the stops to get her back.
11:00Right now I can't focus on anything for more than four seconds at a time.
11:04Which makes me the dumbest person in the room.
11:08So, please help me.
11:11Help me find her.
11:12He even gets himself captured and plays along with the stalker in order to try to free Maeve.
11:17Kill her and she won't have to live with the fact that you're smarter.
11:23Let her live with her irrelevancy.
11:25Unfortunately, the stalker ends her life anyway.
11:28Even though Reed is unsuccessful in trying to save her,
11:31we get a lot of great character development out of this moment.
11:34Number 19, Spencer's Screaming Prank.
11:37While a show centered around serial killers is often pretty dark and intense,
11:41the BAU squad finds moments of levity between all the trauma.
11:45This fun battle of wits definitely represents one of those lighter times.
11:49When Morgan finds out that Reed hustled him during a basketball bat,
11:52he promises vengeance.
11:54This leads to an all-out prank war between the two of them.
11:57Hi, this is Dr. Spencer Reed.
11:58I actually can come to the phone right now with a very special message that your mother is a...
12:02Reed.
12:03Sorry, I'm really sorry. I don't know.
12:04Their feud in the episode ends with Reed preparing a screaming prank that makes us laugh every time.
12:10Now sit back, relax, and enjoy the dulcet sounds of me screaming in your ear.
12:17It was super fun to see Morgan bring out the fun in Reed.
12:20While we often see Reed use his genius to save the day,
12:24it was great to see him use his powers for evil.
12:27Number 18, Defeating His Arch Nemesis.
12:30Kat Adams is like Reed's Joker.
12:32Not only can she match wits with the genius doctor,
12:35but she revels in the idea that their lives are forever intertwined in a battle between good and evil.
12:40Don't get me wrong, I love my fairy tales, clearly, as much as the next girl,
12:45but I'm not delusional.
12:48Are you sure about that?
12:50Very sure.
12:51During her most convoluted plot,
12:53Kat frames Reed for drug trafficking and murder and gets him sent to prison.
12:57But she doesn't give up when the truth is exposed.
13:00Kat threatened to kill Reed's kidnapped mother unless he plays the villain's game.
13:04Is that a prearranged signal to kill my mother?
13:06Tell me the truth!
13:07I am!
13:08Tell me the truth!
13:09I am!
13:09Although he loses his cool and nearly fails the game,
13:12the doctor outsmarts her and saves his mom.
13:15We'll never forget how he celebrated his victory with one last line to Kat.
13:19Watch me.
13:20Number 17, Cracking a Complex Cipher.
13:24Nothing beats the power of Reed's nerd brain.
13:26When the BAU team had an unsub that could only be found by unraveling coded letters he wrote to his
13:31girlfriend,
13:32they relied on the doctor.
13:33I mean, you have to try to write this bad.
13:36I think he did.
13:37He tried very hard to put each word, each letter, even in the right order.
13:42He initially admitted that he would need to clone himself just to get close.
13:46However, Reed stepped up to the plate and made it his mission to crack it.
13:50By using multiple texts and math, he's able to decipher the code and show his work.
13:59Both the audience and the characters were blown away by how he solved and explained everything.
14:04Even Prentice needed to touch his face to make sure he wasn't actually just a super advanced robot.
14:10He's so lifelike.
14:12Number 16, Becoming a Godfather.
14:15Reed and JJ have always had a very special relationship.
14:23They're the best of friends, and she is the only person that ever calls him Spence.
14:27So it's really no surprise when JJ asks him to be the Godfather to her son Henry.
14:32If anything should happen to us, it's up to you and Garcia to make sure this boy gets into Yale.
14:36After a particularly harrowing experience putting together hazy pieces of his past,
14:41Reed still manages to show up for his best friend in the hospital after she gives birth.
14:45Does everyone have room for one more in here?
14:48Spence, hi.
14:49Welcome back.
14:50In this moment, we get to see just how much Reed and JJ really love each other.
14:54Many believe that Morgan and Garcia are the best best friends on the show,
14:57but we argue that Reed and JJ give them a run for their money.
15:01Number 15, Undercover.
15:03When a ring of hitmen is targeting the BAU,
15:06Reed goes undercover as a husband looking to kill his pregnant wife to flush one of them out.
15:11But Kat has her own trap set for the team.
15:13Do you know why I'm so good at my job?
15:16Because you kill without compunction or remorse.
15:19That only gets a girl so far in life.
15:23No, it's because I think through every potential outcome and then I plan accordingly.
15:29What happens next is a 30-minute battle of wits between two geniuses.
15:33Watching Reed go head-to-head with a fellow mastermind over the fate of the team keeps you on the
15:38very edge of your seat.
15:39You're not here alone.
15:41And my partner.
15:42Less paranoid than you think.
15:44You planted a bomb in a building.
15:45We're on the move.
15:47I didn't.
15:48My job was to keep your entire team focused on us.
15:52So he could do what he does best.
15:53The power goes back and forth between them.
15:55And just when it seems like Reed may have met his match,
15:58he turns the tables on Kat one more time.
16:01You said you were good at your job because you think through every outcome.
16:04Well, guess what?
16:04So do I.
16:05Reed called it at the very beginning.
16:08He always wins.
16:10Number 14, Sleight of Hand.
16:11Reed is a man of many talents,
16:14but he's not necessarily the first guy on the team you think of
16:17when you need someone for a one-man rescue mission.
16:19You gotta relax, man.
16:21The ship's a lot smaller than I'm used to doing it with, alright?
16:25I'm pulling the plug on this.
16:26No, no, hold on.
16:27L is taken hostage along with other passengers on a train
16:30by a mentally ill man who believes the government is spying on him.
16:33When the rest of the team wants to storm the train,
16:36Reed insists on going in alone.
16:38Did you guys do me a favor?
16:39Anything.
16:40Could at least one of you look like you're gonna see me again?
16:46See you when you get back.
16:47He may not have the physical prowess of the others,
16:50but Reed uses his own magic to resolve the situation.
16:53Literally.
16:54He uses a magic trick to remove a chip that the man believes is in his arm.
16:58I knew it.
17:00I knew it.
17:04Hey, look, he's got it.
17:05He's got it.
17:05He's got the chip.
17:06It's Reed's kindness and compassion that win the day.
17:09Number 13.
17:10Slaying Past Demons
17:11Some people don't handle being taken down and arrested by Reed as well as others.
17:16We'll distract them.
17:17The car we were in is right outside the door.
17:19We're 18 minutes away from Quantico.
17:20Turn left outside the parking lot.
17:21Take a ride at the light.
17:22You'll recognize the rest.
17:23You remember that episode where Reed and Prentice go undercover in a cult
17:26to discover if the leader is taking advantage of the underage women there?
17:30Well, in the show's 300th episode,
17:32Reed is held hostage by the same cult,
17:34and they are out for revenge.
17:36You never considered how angry we'd be?
17:38Your government underestimated our faith.
17:40Now you'll see.
17:41He is forced to help free one of their leaders from custody to save Garcia from being killed.
17:46Naturally, his super brain is always at work, though.
17:49And he comes out on top in the end.
17:52You look kind of tough.
17:54That's what I was going for.
17:55Number 12.
17:56Passing His Gun Qualification
17:58Even in this early episode of the show,
18:01Reed was already surprising us.
18:03Did L teach you that?
18:04They're going to take away my gun.
18:06Profilers aren't required to carry.
18:08After failing his gun qualifications for field duty,
18:11Reed is pretty let down.
18:12But he proves himself more than ready to take on armed bad guys
18:15when he and Hotch find themselves held hostage.
18:18Profiler.
18:19Sent you to figure me out?
18:21We did.
18:22That's how we found it.
18:23Shut up, Reed.
18:24Hotch can't get to his weapon,
18:26so he creates a scenario where Reed can reach it without tipping off their captor.
18:30He single-handedly takes out the bad guy
18:32and saves himself and Hotch in the process.
18:35No one can deny that he passed his gun qualification after a slick move like that.
18:39Nice shot.
18:41I was aiming for his leg.
18:44Number 11.
18:45Talking Down a Shooter
18:46When the rest of the team wants to open fire on a teenage boy threatening them with a gun,
18:51Reed handles the situation with more of a delicate touch.
18:54Do not shoot.
18:55Reed!
18:56Owen, I don't have a gun.
19:00My name is Spencer, I'm with the FBI, and I'm here to help you.
19:03The boy is out for revenge on the kids that once ruthlessly mistreated him.
19:07And when the jig is up, he's willing to go down in a hail of bullets.
19:11But Reed isn't having any of that.
19:13I know you want to escape.
19:15And forget.
19:18Believe me when I say I know.
19:20I know exactly how that feels.
19:22Feeling a certain level of empathy with the killer,
19:25Reed risks his own life to save him.
19:27He stands in between the boy and his team's guns to talk him down.
19:31You don't have to die.
19:32No.
19:33No, I'm already dead.
19:36No.
19:37No, you're not dead.
19:38No one is dying on Reed's watch.
19:41Number 10.
19:42Showing an Unsub Compassion
19:44Reed's high IQ made it easier for him to understand the twisted logic of the unsubs that the team hunts
19:50for.
19:50Along the way, he also seemed to gain the ability to sympathize with a few of the tragic villains as
19:55well.
19:55I know that he probably forced you to say those things.
19:59And he punished you if you got it wrong.
20:01Sent you to the room with the lightning.
20:05Yeah.
20:06In one dark case, a woman who suffered through an extremely traumatic childhood became an unsub who turns her victims
20:12into real life dolls.
20:14Reed eventually found her while she was attempting to continue her dark practice.
20:17Instead of getting angry or threatening her, he gently talked her down.
20:21Do you want them back?
20:23He said I couldn't.
20:25He said they were gone for good.
20:26He lied.
20:27He's been lying to you for a long time.
20:28Do you want to see them?
20:30The amount of compassion he showed was remarkable.
20:33While Reed certainly didn't approve of what she did, he proved that he fully recognized her pain.
20:39Hey, Samantha.
20:40Listen.
20:41You have to go with these men.
20:43But your friends can go with you, okay?
20:46They won't take them away.
20:48I promise no one will ever take them away again.
20:52Number 9.
20:53Connecting with a child on the spectrum.
20:56Reed may be most known for his vast knowledge of, well, everything.
20:59But what's often his best attribute is that he can connect with victims and unsubs alike.
21:04In this case, Sammy Sparks, a young boy with autism, witnessed his parents being abducted.
21:10The team needs to know about their captor, but they're unable to communicate with him.
21:14Sammy, how about you play this note for yes, and this note for no.
21:26Does that sound like something you could do?
21:30Yeah, exactly.
21:32Reed sits with Sammy at the piano and gently gets through to him.
21:35It's a touching scene that further shows how compassionate Reed can be.
21:38And it's even sweeter that he ends the episode with a keyboard for himself.
21:45After giving a lecture, Reed and Rossi are approached by Professor Rothschild,
21:50though we later find out his real name is Henry Grace.
21:53He's an admirer of Reed, because who wouldn't be?
21:56Henry confesses to killing seven women over the years,
21:59and says there are five more people currently captured.
22:11As the team struggles to find the location of his latest victims, Reed sees a pattern.
22:16He realizes that the unsubs plan is based on the Fibonacci sequence and the golden ratio.
22:21Once again, Dr. Reed and that big brain of his help take down an unsub.
22:26Da Vinci used it in a lot of his paintings.
22:28As a matter of fact, The Last Supper is a perfect example.
22:30Reed, Reed, how do we find them?
22:31Right.
22:32The whole concept is represented by this pendant,
22:34including the logarithmic spiral created by using a Fibonacci sequence.
22:38Number seven, trying to save an unsub.
22:41He knows that I understand him.
22:43Of course you do, you're a profiler.
22:45It's more than that.
22:47Oh.
22:48I know what it's like to be afraid of your own mind.
22:51One of the many great things about Spencer Reed is that he can relate to and empathize with some unsubs,
22:56particularly the young ones.
22:58He's willing to go above and beyond, often risking his life to make sure they live,
23:03whether they're in danger of being killed by law enforcement or if they're a danger to themselves.
23:07I figured I'd come here and try and fight it.
23:10Has anybody seen you here?
23:13It doesn't matter anyway.
23:16It does matter, Nathan.
23:17In Conflicted, Reed really wants to help Adam Jackson.
23:21Whose alternate personality, Amanda, is a serial killer.
23:24After she takes full control, Reed goes to see her, hoping that she'll release Adam.
23:29While we never see it on the show, we'd like to think he continued visiting.
23:33He deserves a life.
23:35It's his.
23:37So you're trying to wear me down and release him?
23:42No.
23:43I'm just waiting for you to do the right thing.
23:46Number six, staying with Morgan while he disarms a bomb.
23:50While on a case with two active bombers in Indianapolis,
23:53Reed and Morgan find themselves in a nerve-wracking, possibly deadly situation.
23:57How the hell did we beat the bomb squad here?
23:59I'll give you statistics, but I don't think this is the time.
24:02Are we really going to do this?
24:03Alan Archer, one of the yet-to-be-revealed unsubs,
24:06stepped on his car's gas pedal and triggered a bomb.
24:09Morgan, who used to work on the bomb squad, prepares to disarm it.
24:12Even though he tells Reed to leave the scene,
24:15his brother-like colleague stays right by his side.
24:18Hey, kid.
24:20I think you should back up.
24:23Not happening.
24:24What's the next step?
24:26Thankfully, they both make it out unscathed,
24:28and this duo lives to fight another day.
24:30We can always count on Reed to be there for his friends slash co-workers.
24:34Number five, attending Will's funeral.
24:36One aspect of the Criminal Minds revival series,
24:40Criminal Minds Evolution, that fans haven't liked,
24:42is the lack of Dr. Spencer Reed.
24:44His former BAU colleagues mention him here and there,
24:47and we learn in the season 16 premiere
24:49that he and Simmons are on secret assignments.
24:51The split was only supposed to last for six months,
24:54but now it's nearly three years.
24:56And without the help of SSA's Reed and Simmons...
24:59Sorry, I'm not at liberty to discuss their assignments.
25:01If and when they return is entirely up to them.
25:04Sadly, we don't have a say.
25:05However, when J.J.'s husband Will dies in season 18,
25:09we get a surprise appearance from Reed at the funeral.
25:12While he only has one line of dialogue,
25:14it's still nice to see Matthew Gray Goobler
25:16briefly reprise his iconic role.
25:18And the much-needed hug-filled reunion
25:21was incredibly heartwarming.
25:23Here's hoping it's not the last we'll see of him.
25:25Still can't believe you made it.
25:28I'm always here with you guys.
25:30Number four, Anthrax Scare.
25:32One of the best things about Reed
25:34is just how protective he is.
25:36He's always putting others' well-being above his own.
25:39Nothing's gonna happen to you.
25:40You're gonna brilliantly find out who did this,
25:42and we're gonna treat this strain.
25:45I hope you're right.
25:46But if you're not,
25:47I just, I really want to make sure
25:48that she hears my voice.
25:50When Reed is exposed
25:51to a new, more powerful strain of Anthrax
25:54from a secret lab,
25:55he wastes no time
25:56in putting himself in mortal danger
25:58in order to solve the crime
25:59and prevent anyone else from getting hurt.
26:02Go help Hotch.
26:03Hotch has plenty of people helping him.
26:04I need you more than I do.
26:05Reed locks himself in the lab,
26:07keeping Morgan out
26:08and refusing to come out himself
26:10until he both finds a cure
26:12and the bad guy.
26:13Even when he starts showing symptoms,
26:15Reed stays against his friend's wishes
26:18and, as usual,
26:20saves the day.
26:20How's Abby?
26:21She's on the mend.
26:23So were the three others.
26:24You were right about where to look for his cure.
26:26Number three,
26:27Reed versus Tobias.
26:29Reed's superbrain strikes back yet again
26:32when he's captured by a new serial killer
26:34with multiple personalities.
26:36I believe you can see inside men's minds.
26:39It's not true.
26:41I study human behavior.
26:44I'm not interested in the arguments of men.
26:46Reed is physically beaten,
26:48emotionally battered,
26:49and shot up with drugs.
26:51Yet through all that,
26:52he still manages to keep his wits about him
26:54and send a cryptic message to his team
26:56letting them know exactly where to find him.
26:59He also quoted Genesis chapter 23, verse 4.
27:02Read it.
27:03I am a stranger and a sojourner with you.
27:05Give me property for a burial place among you
27:07that I may bury my dead out of my sight.
27:09He wouldn't get it wrong
27:10unless it was on purpose.
27:12He's in a cemetery.
27:13Who knew Reed would hold up so well under torture?
27:16But then again,
27:17we should know better than to underestimate him.
27:20I'm not strong enough.
27:21You're all weak.
27:25Get out of there.
27:36There are many moments throughout the show
27:39where Reed's intellect saves the day,
27:41but this one might just be the best.
27:43When Reed and Hotch are stuck alone in a cell
27:45with a death row inmate who plans on killing them
27:47as a backwards way to stay his execution,
27:50Hotch's response is to stand up to his intimidation.
27:53But Reed has a better idea.
27:55At your core, you're a coward.
27:59Chester, do you want to know why you killed those women?
28:00He creates a profile on the spot
28:02to convince the killer that he sympathizes with him
28:05and that he will be spared.
28:07Earlier, you said your victims never had a chance.
28:12I think, you know, deep down,
28:15it was you who really never had a chance.
28:18Buying them enough time until the guards return.
28:21We bet it would have been awesome to see Hotch pummel that guy,
28:24but watching Reed simply talk their way out of the bad situation
28:27was even better.
28:29Is that true? I never had a chance.
28:30I don't know, maybe.
28:33Number one, Senate Committee Verbal Beatdown.
28:36Dr. Spencer Reed isn't known for being assertive
28:39like some of his colleagues,
28:40but on the rare occasion he gets angry,
28:42he has no problem calling someone out.
28:45Well, for the record,
28:46a CD was not sent to the police this morning
28:47and the tragic overture was written by Brahms, not Wagner.
28:49So luckily, I guess it's not your cousin.
28:52The FBI would greatly appreciate it
28:54if people would stop making false claims
28:55to get their 15 minutes of fame.
28:57Thank you. Thank you very much.
28:58We love to see Reed put people in their place
29:00and the best example is in the season seven premiere.
29:04After they close their intense Ian Doyle case,
29:06the BAU has to testify before a Senate committee
29:09about their questionable actions.
29:10When it's Reed's turn,
29:12he is defiant and corrects how Senator Kramer addresses him.
29:15The United States government
29:16is not in the business of trading captives.
29:18New York City, July 2010,
29:20referred to as the spy swap.
29:22Igor-
29:22That's enough.
29:24You can't just change the rules, sir.
29:26He then confidently exposes their hypocrisy
29:28about using certain tactics.
29:30And you know he came prepared
29:32with a legal reference to back it up.
29:33I ran the probability of his survival
29:35and it wasn't good.
29:36If you want to punish me for taking a risk,
29:38then I encourage you to do that.
29:39But do not put the rest of my team on trial
29:41for something that I suggested.
29:42Calm down, H.
29:43This is calm and it's doctor.
29:44The whole scene is easily Reed's
29:47best mic drop moment.
29:48What's your favorite Reed moment?
29:49Let us know in the comments.
