00:03The president of the European Commission has announced a 200 million euros investment package
00:08for Greenland in a bid to deepen ties with the Danish autonomous territory coveted by US
00:13President Donald Trump. During a two-day visit to the capital Newt, Ursula von der Leyen presented
00:19the initiative called the EU-Greenland Partnership Package. It's 200 million euros of new investments
00:26for Greenland this year and next year. And this partnership package focuses mainly on three
00:33domains or strategic priorities. We call them the big Cs, connectivity, clean energy, critical raw
00:43materials. Von der Leyen has backed Greenland's sovereignty and territorial integrity amid
00:50significant pressure exerted by the administration of US President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly
00:55expressed his desire to annex the territory. Greenland's future is for the people of Greenland
01:01and Denmark to decide, no one else. Territorial integrity, sovereignty, the inviolability of
01:10borders, these are fundamental principles of international law. Trump claimed earlier this
01:17year that Washington needed to control Greenland for national security reasons but appeared to
01:23rule out annexing it by force.
