00:00Let's talk about this Rams-Niners game before we get Arash back on because, John, there's a lot of conversation.
00:08I'm actually going to ask Elam about it too because there's a lot of conversation about which team made the
00:15right decision flying in early, flying in late, should the Rams have flown in a week earlier like the Niners
00:22did and kind of seen the city and represented the NFL and all these different things.
00:26I know we've touched on this a couple times, but the Rams have been adamant and people keep asking them
00:32about, you know, why are you guys doing it this way? Why are you just going in the night before
00:38and leaving the night after? Why don't you get there and acclimate to it? And the Rams have been adamant,
00:43like, hey, we've talked to people, we've talked to our sports science doctors, and this is what we got. So
00:48we're going to do it. And the Niners have been there already. They've been there for, what, a couple days
00:52now. So where do you stand on this? Because it's a pretty big topic right now.
00:57This feels like, to me, the Rams have bigger fish to fry, and they are on a mission to do
01:03something. And so therefore, they're going about this as a regular business trip. The 49ers, who have had a tumultuous
01:11offseason, are using this as a way to kind of get away from all the things that have happened to
01:18them so far in the offseason,
01:20and to get ready to play some games, to have some tranquility, to just kind of circle up and go,
01:26hey, man, we circling the wagons. Y'all, this us. We had a lot happen this offseason.
01:31And a lot of it was negative in the headlines. Let's just start now, starting now, with this trip, let's
01:37just focus on us. Let's just focus on football in an attempt to kind of reset before the season starts.
01:43I think that's why they did it. And I think the Rams are doing it because they, through science and
01:48through doctors and through communication, they have a different plan.
01:52We want to treat this like any other game. So however long it takes us to get there, that's when
01:57we're going to get there.
01:57We're going to get off the plane. We're going to get suited up. We're going to take care of our
02:00business, and we're going to get enough out of here like we would do anything else.
02:04And I don't knock that either. The truth will be told after the game, where the final score will tell
02:12you who did the right thing and how the trip should be handled going forward.
02:17Because that's a long way to go for a game to start the season.

02:41Again, my idea originally was go to Melbourne, but the Rams aren't there, so there's no reason for me to
02:47go there early.
02:48I will arrive in Melbourne same time as the Rams, 24 hours before the game.
02:53Just to give you some context about how long the flight is or just how much time you lose.
02:58I departed Los Angeles at 10.55 p.m. on Saturday, landed 6.55 a.m. on Monday, effectively losing
03:08a day.
03:08But to your guys' point, and you guys are talking about it right now, the mind and the body does
03:14not have enough time to adjust.
03:17And so basically, if you tell the guys, as soon as we get on that plane, for me, right, 10
03:22.55 p.m., you sleep.
03:24They all have laid-back beds. I didn't. I was on coach on Delta. That's fine.
03:30Basically, sleep. The one thing you lose, but you'll gain on the way back, so it doesn't really matter, is
03:35that day.
03:36So I really don't think this will be as big of a deal. Again, it's never been done before.
03:42The Rams did it last year in London, but totally different. Again, they were in Baltimore, flew to London.
03:48That's not the same as Los Angeles to Melbourne, Australia.
03:52But again, I am in Sydney. You've got the Sydney Opera House behind me.
03:55Why? Because I'm going to be a tourist for the next couple of days while the Rams are still in
03:59Woodland Hills.
03:59And I will arrive in Melbourne, along with the Rams, 24 hours before the game.
04:05Arash, really quick. I know this may not have gotten there yet, but do you have a Rams helmet with

04:11I do not have a Rams helmet with me right now.
04:14By the way, this will be a big storyline, and I know Grant's probably seen this on social.
04:20No one travels. Like, the 49ers are one of the top five traveling fan bases in the country.
04:26They're right up there with the Cowboys and the Packers and the Steelers and things like that.
04:30There's going to be a ton of 49er fans here.
04:33And again, I know you guys are hearing about it on social.
04:35This was technically a Rams home game.
04:37As Grant can attest to, it'll feel like so-fi for a normal Rams home game,
04:42where there's going to be a ton of 49er fans there.
04:45But really thrilled about the experience. We'll see how the Rams do.
04:48Again, they're going to have Puka Nakua there.
04:50I know there was a lot of talk.
04:53Eric Jackson, Aaron Donald, they should be 100% good to go for this first game.
05:00Because of the conditions, are you expecting an appearance from Aaron Donald?
05:06I am. Again, according to Sean McVay, he's going to make the trip, and he is going to start.
05:11Again, if something were to happen where he doesn't, I would be surprised.
05:15But listen, if you're going to be making that trip, if you're going to be suited up,
05:18but you certainly want to play in this game.
05:20And so I'd be shocked if they don't start Donald and Puka doesn't play.
05:25I mean, this is a big moment for them.
05:27Again, it's week one of the season.
05:29So listen, I mean, you know, they could be cautious.
05:32But he practiced in Los Angeles in Woodland Hills on Sunday.
05:37He is expected to go.
