00:00With Tom Holland's latest outing as Spider-Man, Brand New Day, just around the corner,
00:05let's take another look back at the top Spider-Man games of all time.
00:09In 2000, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater developer Nevisoft snuck out a truly ahead-of-its-time Spider-Man game.
00:15It convincingly brought Spidey into a 3D space.
00:18It's full of personality, solid combat, and really showed the potential for the character
00:23outside of the side-scrolling brawlers we'd seen before.
00:26Treyarch did a fantastic job bringing a younger Peter Parker to life,
00:30and an even better job delivering its cel-shaded world.
00:34Ultimate Spider-Man did a fantastic job of capturing the vibe and style of the comic books it was drawn
00:39from.
00:40If you're a fan of Into the Spider-Verse, you might want to check out Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions.
00:44Developer Beanox may have ditched the open world and web-swinging,
00:48but instead took a more focused approach with its varied cast of Spider-Men.
00:52This 2004 classic nailed the web-swinging across what was, at the time, a pretty revolutionary open world.
00:59There's a charm to its presentation and structure, its boss battles are excellent,
01:04and there's real joy to be had in its movement.
01:06I'll be honest, we're kind of lumping Insomniac's trilogy in together with this one,
01:10but specifically, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 isn't just the best Spider-Man game of all time,
01:16it's also one of the best PS5 games out there right now.
01:19This trilogy's web-swinging alone is the ultimate Spider-Man roleplay experience,
01:24and with each iteration, Insomniac aced building on solid foundations.
