Sometimes the smallest sounds are the ones that point to the biggest problem.

In the clip, a duckling is brought up from a drain and held carefully before being set down at the edge of the water. It steps in and paddles away, moving toward other ducklings already swimming nearby.

The filmer, Tracy, told WooGlobe, “We have wild mallard ducklings that hatched on site—13 in total. On Wednesday morning, I realized there were only 10 left. During the day, I heard cheeping and thought there was a nest in the conservatory gutter, but the sound was actually coming up the drainpipe from below. Three ducklings were trapped in the drain, and we managed to rescue all three.”

The moment turns on a simple reset, with the duckling quickly returning to where it belongs. The rescue at Everards Farm in Chewton Mendip, Somerset ends quietly, with the group back on the water.
