00:00Want more of your favourite plants for free? Let's take some cuttings.
00:03We're going to propagate this plant which is called Vibina bonariensis.
00:08So you want to look for side shoots like these.
00:11We'll take a cutting just above a leaf node, allows the plant to rejuvenate really well.
00:17So now let's go and prep them. Make a cut just below a leaf join.
00:22Ideally we'd be using a non-flowering shoot but I couldn't find any so we will
00:26need to cut this off here and we'll remove these lower leaves.
00:31The next step is just to dip it in this rooting gel.
00:35We'll make a hole with our pencil, paste that into the pot and firm it in.
00:39As with any cuttings you need to keep them really well watered.
00:42So put them inside a tray which doesn't have any holes in and fill this tray with water.
00:49Last step you can cover your cutting with a plastic bag.
00:52It creates a mini greenhouse effect and you should start to see growth within five to six weeks.
00:59And when you do it will look like this.
01:02You can see it's got loads and loads of fresh new growth on these two shoots here.
01:07And we've even got some flowers and that would be ready to plant out now into the garden.
01:12You can see it.
01:12I'll see.
01:12I'll see you next time.
