00:00Dodgers are about to, you know, embark on trying to do something that not a lot of teams have been
00:06able to do in a very, very long time.
00:08But you are not doing it if Otani can't hit.
00:12I'm sorry. You can get away with Otani not being on the mound, but you are not winning anything if
00:18Otani is not 80% at the plate.
00:23And right now, it looks like the Dodgers have come to that realization where, yeah, where there is smoke, there
00:28is fire.
00:29It might be time to sit Otani down until the postseason.
00:33They have to. And, you know, I'd be fine with them.
00:37I'm not Dodgers backwards. I don't want any tickets on the Dodgers.
00:41You know, frankly, I think most people are with me that we don't want the Dodgers to win this year.
00:47So and that's just one thing, just me being honest.
00:49But the answer for the Dodgers, like, listen, you've got to sit him down for at least a week or
00:52so.
00:53And if he comes back in the last week of the season just to get him some live pitching and
00:57you play him every other day,
00:58I think that should be, like, the real plan.
01:00Sit him for a while, then bring him back just to get him back up to game speed.
01:04He's not pitching, and that's the way things should really go.
01:08You know, looking at this line tonight, when we're looking at such a dramatic difference.
01:12And listen, Blake Snell's back. He's looked good.
01:14Minus 270, plus 220 for the Dodgers money line and the Washington Nationals money line, that is.
01:20We're looking at a high K prop for Blake Snell.
01:23Now, Jackson Kent is on the mound for the Nationals.
01:27He's a young guy who just recently called up.
01:28He only has 19.1 innings pitched in the majors.
01:31He only has four starts under his belt.
01:33So that tells you enough that he's not getting deep into games, 19 innings over four starts.
01:38He doesn't have a big strikeout rate.
01:41He's having a huge, huge issue with walks at 17%, which is insane.
01:46But he's also not getting beat by homers.
01:48So, I'm not saying I'm betting on the Nationals, but I'm absolutely not betting on the Dodgers at this type
01:53of price with the lineup so watered down.
01:55There's also no Freddie Freeman tonight.
01:57We've got to take note of that.
01:58There's no Freddie Freeman.
01:59There's also no Otani.
02:03That's a problem, Tom, for the Dodgers.
02:05Call me crazy here.
02:06I mean, this is not – it wasn't a pretty August.
02:09It's likely not going to be a pretty finish to the end of September in the regular season.
02:15You can have all the pitching you want, but they got some problems here.
02:21And I think maybe they're running out of steam here a little bit towards the end of the season.
02:25And certainly not worth the price that we're seeing there right now.
02:29So, my question is, Tom, if it ain't the Dodgers, who is it?
02:33Who do you trust out of the National League to win the pennant?
02:37Oh, it's so, so tough.
02:39If I keep wanting to say the Braves, just because I believe their offense can go toe-to-toe with
02:46the Dodgers,
02:47and I think I would take the Braves, you know, in a coin-full matchup against the Phillies offense,
02:50I would absolutely take the Braves over the Brewers.
02:52The problem is, is that the Braves don't have pitching outside of Chris Sale.
02:56And that's what really worries me, knowing that the Brewers can throw –
03:00after Mizorowski goes game one, they can throw Harrison, they can throw Henderson,
03:05the Phillies are going to have Chris Sanchez, Zach Wheeler, Aaron Nola's also unpitching great,
03:09Dave Jesus Lozardo, who's in the midst of a career here.
03:12Like, the Phillies can give you four front-line stars, essentially.
03:14The Braves have one.
03:16Do I trust Grant Holmes in a playoff matchup?
03:18No, like, Grant Holmes has been fine.
03:20He's been – Bryce Elder's been fine.
03:22But I don't love the fact that Tyler Molle's going to be my game-two starter for the Braves.
03:26So when betting on the Braves, it's got to be their offense.
03:29But I really – I really think the Phillies have the best shot.
03:32I think they have the most well-rounded team between the offense, the pitching,
03:35and the bullpen, or, you know, starting pitching and the bullpen.
03:37I think they would be the team to consider backing.
