00:13Hello, and welcome. In this tech tutorial video, I'll be showing you how to host a static HTML
00:19website completely free on Cloudflare. For this demonstration, I'll be using a Windows 11 PC,
00:25the Firefox web browser and Bootstrap Studio to create and export the website files. But you can
00:32use any web design software, as long as it allows you to export files to your PC, which can then
00:37be
00:38uploaded to Cloudflare. So, the first thing you need to do is head over to Cloudflare and sign up
00:43for an account with your chosen email address. Unless, of course, you already have one. In that
00:48case, just sign in. From the main page, begin by focusing on the left-hand side menu and select
00:55Compute followed by Workers and Pages. On the next page, select the Create Application option,
01:02which is the blue icon towards the top. Then go down to the very bottom of the page and select
01:08Continue to Pages. If, for any reason, you can't see this option, it's most likely because your web
01:14browser bookmarks or menu bar are enabled, which reduces the available screen space. Disable these
01:21if you still can't see the Continue to Pages. In the next page, you want to select the Drag and
01:29Drop
01:29Your Files option by clicking on the Get Started icon button. Next, we want to create the name of our
01:37website. To keep it simple, I'll be using a free pages.dev subdomain. But if you want to add your
01:43own
01:43domain, you can do this through the main control panel after the initial setup. Once you've created
01:50the name of your project, click on the Create Project button. We now have the option to drag and
02:01drop our files straight into Cloudflare. For the next phase, we need to open our chosen web design
02:07software and publish the files to our PC. As mentioned earlier, I'm using Bootstrap Studio. But you can
02:14use any software that allows you to design and publish website files on your PC. So, I'm going to select
02:20the Export option, which will export all of the website files, into my selected destination, which can be
02:27accessed through the File Explorer. The next step is the most important one. You need to highlight all of the
02:34exported files by holding down the left button on your mouse or touchpad, and then right-click and select the
02:40Compress to option. And from the submenu, select Zip File, which will place all the files into one. You can
02:47then
02:47give the zip file a unique name.
02:56Now we need to upload our single zip file. The easiest way to do this is to drag and drop
03:02the file from File Explorer
03:03on your PC straight into the upload section on the Cloudflare website. Depending on the size of the file,
03:10this may take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to upload. When this is done, click on
03:16the
03:16Deploy Site button. You can then scroll to the top, click on the link, and it will take you to
03:21the website
03:22you just uploaded. And, as you can see, a fully functional website is now hosted free of charge,
03:29with no ads whatsoever, on Cloudflare.
03:34And anytime you want to update your site, simply create a new and updated zip file. Then go back to
03:40the Cloudflare homepage, select Compute, followed by Workers and Pages, select your site from the list,
03:46and then choose Create Deployment. And simply drag and drop that zip file, select Save and Deploy,
03:53and any new files will automatically override the old ones.
