00:39Good evening. Five games took place in the Premiership tonight.
00:42Highlights are incoming and whether you like it or not, Scott Allen and Richard Foster are going to talk about
00:47them.
00:48Now it's a busy show, so let's get started. Celtic welcome Aberdeen first as Martin O'Neill's team look to
00:53keep their perfect Premiership start intact.
00:57A fixture that has for so long been one of the biggest bankers in Scottish football.
01:0328 league meetings have come and gone since Aberdeen last beat Celtic in the Premiership.
01:08Some of those difficult days and nights were soarer than others.
01:12But because of that, it's understandable if the Dons have an inferiority complex just now against the Champions.
01:19Though they did beat them in that Scottish Cup final last year, but that was on penalties.
01:26A busy couple of days in the transfer market for Celtic.
01:29Two low ease in from Chelsea with promising forward Shim Miuka making the bench, as does new keeper Sam Johnston
01:36and the Danish midfielder Oliver Sorensen.
01:39Elsewhere, McGregor is back in for Bauer while Trusty replaces the injured Tierney.
01:45The Dons play two strikers, but the rest of the team is more pragmatic, which you can understand.
01:50Five changes in total from the team that lost to Rangers.
01:53Happy, Ronan, Intelo, Alessanya and Yogan are replaced by the now injury-free Canoester.
01:59Malloy, Breedle, Armstrong and Malua also coming in to the side.
02:18Scales.
02:21To Yang and Negrin.
02:25Here's Durand.
02:26Inside the goal.
02:27Brilliant!
02:30Not much he can do about that, in fairness.
02:34Camilo Durand is setting this place on fire.
02:40Double at the weekend and he opens his account tonight in spectacular style.
02:46I'm not sure many goalkeepers are keeping that out.
02:50And off the underside of the crossbar.
02:54The sixth goal in Celtic colours arrives already.
03:08Yang going through the gears.
03:10Muller misses it!
03:12Hassan couldn't finish and neither did Durand.
03:21And Durand is wildly over this time.
03:31There's a dreadful touch by Breedle.
03:33And Durand's in again!
03:38Maybe annoyed he's not made it two there, in all honesty.
03:44Great chance.
03:48Robinson irate with the nature of how that came about.
04:05Another cross from the Egyptian.
04:07And it bobbles.
04:08Favourably for Negrin.
04:10And that ditched two.
04:18Scored in all three games against Aberdeen last season.
04:22He's at it again.
04:25Hassan's little ball in.
04:27He's decent.
04:29And it broke kindly for Negrin.
04:32Who did the rest.
04:33The starboard number eight, Benjamin Negrin!
04:43Scales is up.
04:45Negrin's in.
04:47Durand goes down.
04:50It's Canoista's challenge.
05:00He's going to come straight into the box from Breedle.
05:05He's been beaten to it by Scales.
05:12He's doing a similar one in that challenge.
05:14The Aberdeen captain.
05:15See Steven Robinson feels his team should be getting a penalty here.
05:20It's something you're not getting.
05:23Scales at Aizenpull.
05:24He has indicated there will be a minimum of three minutes ahead.
05:30Breedle's corner.
05:32Missed by Sine-Salo.
05:33And Malloy hits the bar.
05:38Armstrong back in.
05:41Scales away.
05:44Almost an unlikely route back into this for Aberdeen.
05:49At the end of the first half.
05:52Renhu gives it straight to Duran.
05:54And look at Yang in the middle.
05:56Yang-Hoon Jun can make it three.
05:58And does!
06:03Weak at the back from Aberdeen.
06:06The Celtic hit them on the counter.
06:09And that will settle its...
06:13A sucker for the Dons who hit the bar up the other end.
06:21That's just their luck in this fixture.
06:24Just when you think you've got a ray of light.
06:29Celtic do what they normally do.
06:32Mistake this time was Aremu's.
06:36It's another easy goal for Celtic.
06:40And it's game over.
06:43And as usual for Aberdeen, it's about damage limitation.
06:58Armstrong into the path of Lewis Smith.
07:02And Lasagna back for Armstrong.
07:06And Smith.
07:09As Sine-Salo gathers.
07:11He's a bit better from Aberdeen.
07:14Been too much for the small band of travelling supporters to shout about.
07:19Probably they wanted more goals in the second half.
07:21They haven't materialised as yet.
07:24It's not got worse for him.
07:27Yet.
07:31Momiouka's through!
07:33And Muller keeps him out.
07:34But that would have been quite the instant impact.
07:44This would have been quite the impact.
07:47For the teenager.
07:49It must have been a real talent.
07:58To Necti.
08:01Of course it comes and...
08:03Sorensen and a little...
08:07Go at that and...
08:09He's annoyed he's not made better contact.
08:12She might well have got that on target.
08:19Forrest.
08:24Bauer.
08:26Here's Tenechty.
08:32Bauer back to James Forrest.
08:34Who's himself and forces the latest save from Marius Moola.
08:43As comfortable an evening as the champions will get all season.
08:50We played very well.
08:53We seem to control the game for the most part.
08:58And I thought obviously the goal, the first goal is a big one.
09:02Because the game at that stage is still in the balance.
09:05Despite maybe us having more possession.
09:08But overall I think that...
09:10Just delighted with the win.
09:12Delighted with the goals that we scored.
09:13And pretty pleased with the display.
09:17First half.
09:18We were way too passive for the first goal.
09:20And we got punished.
09:21We got punished by how clinical Celtic were.
09:24We hit the crossbar at 2-1.
09:26Which could change the game.
09:27And they go up straight up the other end.
09:29And we make a mistake.
09:30And the game is effectively over.
09:31So the positive I can take is I got a response second half to an extent.
09:36At least we showed a belief that we could play and could pass.
09:38And showed what I see in training.
09:42Snow wins in 15 for Aberdeen at Celtic Park.
09:45And in all honesty they were absolutely battered tonight.
09:47By a very impressive Celtic team.
09:49Scott Camilo Duran.
09:50Another goal.
09:516-7 for them.
09:52What a goal this is.
09:54Yeah and he's really settled into his time at Celtic Park already.
09:57We've seen the kind of ability that he possesses.
09:59Whether that's running him behind the finishes as well.
10:02He's got so much variety in the type of goals that he's scored already in his Celtic career.
10:06And on top of that they work right back the park.
10:08But you see here just one chance to get onto his left foot.
10:10And he absolutely slams that into the top corner.
10:12And it's not something that we're now beginning to come to expect with.
10:15With Duran and you feel that he's going to have a huge season for Celtic.
10:18He doesn't look like there's a lot on him when he receives the ball there.
10:20He's got a couple of players in front of him.
10:21He just shifts it brilliantly Richard.
10:23Yeah.
10:24I mean Aberdeen have got enough players there to actually go and deal with it.
10:26Go and get tight on him.
10:28Because we've seen him do that in previous games.
10:30You know they'll watch him in the games he's played.
10:34The goals he's scored.
10:34He's always wanting to get a shot away.
10:36And yes the Aberdeen player is in an okay position.
10:39But go and be a bit more aggressive.
10:40There's only one striker there.
10:42I mean goodness knows what they're doing there.
10:45But he's actually seemed to.
10:47He started off really really well in the wide area.
10:49But I think through the middle he poses a much bigger threat.
10:52I think there both players could probably get a shot off with the right foot.
10:56If he can play through the middle like that.
10:57And they've got Kasper Hu waiting to come back.
10:59Then it's a frightening prospect.
11:01Benjamin Negrin's goal contributions for Celtic are proven to be invaluable.
11:04We saw what he did last year Richard.
11:07He's got 5-7 this season.
11:09And again pops up with a good finish.
11:11Yeah he's just a brilliant goal scorer midfielder.
11:14I think there has been criticism of how much involvement he has in the build up in the game and
11:21the play.
11:22But he just has a knack of being in the right position.
11:24Again you look here I think Lewis can show him down the outside.
11:27No Aberdeen player bothers to Mark Negrin.
11:30And the goalkeeper should save it.
11:31I mean that's one of his more fortuitous goals and his weak side.
11:34He's got enough bodies back as well isn't he?
11:35It's not an accident with Negrin though he always arrives in the box.
11:38He's always gambling.
11:38Yeah his timing's perfect and he's got the finish to go.
11:41Question marks over the goalkeeper Muller for me.
11:44But the defending as Stephen Robinson said was so passive in the first half.
11:47Yeah really disappointing first half as far as Aberdeen were concerned.
11:51I mean the third goal it came from actually an Aberdeen corner kick where they probably should have scored with
11:58a header but what happens after that is extraordinarily poor.
12:02Yeah I think it's what 26 seconds between the header off the bar and yeah in that position he gets
12:10a bit I think scales at the back post and should actually score.
12:14They actually keep it alive quite well.
12:16Celtic defend their box but from this position deep in Celtic's own half you can't concede from this position.
12:23But you know it's just a long ball forward and Aberdeen are just all kind of standing watching each other.
12:30I don't think Mail gives him a lot of help there but it's a horrendous mistake.
12:35And then that's a decent pass from Duran and a very composed finish but you know that is not what
12:40you need when you go to Celtic Park and you're already 2-0 down.
12:42No you can't be giving away cheap goals you know you're going to be under the cosh but to give
12:45away goals like they have done with that one especially.
12:49Yeah really disappointing from an Aberdeen perspective and I think that's why you see him make the changes at half
12:52time.
12:53Four changes.
12:54Yeah and listen and they did stifle Celtic a bit at the same time Celtic came off the gas a
12:59little bit but the game was so so comfortable for Celtic.
13:02They've had a busy couple of days in the transfer market.
13:06Johnston, Sorensen, Muka, Van der Berg I think just signed more looking lightly over the next 24 hours.
13:13Add that to Durant, Hu, Hassan, Bauer.
13:16Then it looks a very very productive transfer kind of window for Martin O'Neill's side although it's a kind
13:21of slow start but they've barely got the numbers in at the end there.
13:24Yeah I think a bit of pressure helped with that as well and injuries obviously to Alistair Johnston in really
13:30key areas.
13:30Celtic are looking to fill gaps where over the last season they haven't had that depth of quality come in.
13:35And you've got Jota to add to that who's likely to see over the next few weeks of Celtic looking
13:39at a really strong position.
13:41Aberdeen, Richard, your old team.
13:43It's just four games just to one win.
13:46Tough fixtures.
13:47Yeah I think we can accept that but they should, we should and they should be expecting better from this
13:54Aberdeen side.
13:55Given their budget and the size of the club it's very early in the season but it's not been a
14:00great start.
14:01It's not been particularly impressive.
14:03No I think the biggest thing for me is the lack of energy, the lack of intensity.
14:08You know one thing you recognise with Stephen Robertson's teams is that.
14:12They're hard working, they're hard to beat, they're aggressive.
14:15And I know the game's changing and you can't be thrown in tackles everywhere but they don't even get close
14:20to the Celtic players.
14:21Now they're good players but if you give good players time and space they're going to hurt you as we've
14:25seen today.
14:26But I just, that would be the most worrying thing for me. Styles and formations, if you can't have energy
14:33on the pitch and aggression on the pitch and a willingness to run on the pitch, it doesn't matter what
14:36style or formation you try and play.
14:38It's never going to work.
14:39Okay lots to get through. Rangers got their first win at the weekend. Could they follow it up as they
14:44travel to face Falkirk?
14:47With transfer news and speculation swirling around Rangers, Derek McInnes and his players must focus on matters on the pitch
14:55as they aim to build on their first league win of the season.
15:00Falkirk are still searching for theirs amid a massive rebuild of last season's top six side.
15:06Five of John McGlynn's 16 new signings start tonight. American Jacob Morrell replaces Ben Parkinson up front. It's the only
15:14change from the defeat at Celtic Park.
15:18Well after rejecting a loan offer from Besiktas for Niko Raskan, the midfielder comes straight back into the Rangers 11.
15:25Tello Asgard is missing as his move to Anderlecht progresses. Kosta Nadejkovic makes his first Rangers start at right back.
15:33He wins. Kana, his goalkeeper Falkirk gets the full press on, Barbrook's up there on Fernandes.
15:43Rangers centre half stays composed. Falkirk momentarily won it back.
15:50Another chance for Rangers to break forward, Gassama, Penrice joining the attack, it's Gassama into the box, it's Shanklin on
15:58the turn, and Shanklin opens the scoring for Rangers.
16:02And Danik McInnes watching from the stands, delighted, and his side have got their noses in front, Falkirk try and
16:12put the high press on.
16:13They lose out, and Gassama strokes it into the box, and Shanklin on the turn.
16:20It's a brilliant finish from the Rangers captain, and it is Falkirk 0-0, Rangers 1.
16:34Bain to Barbrook.
16:37Nielsen was under severe pressure there, Devlin intercepts, it's Shanklin, he finds Shady Gassama.
16:45It's Gassama blocked by Spencer, Gassama goes down, still alive for Rangers.
16:51Kimbin Su, oh, inches away from making it 2-0.
16:56Well, Volker, plenty of possession in the last couple of minutes, and that is so close to a first Rangers
17:03goal.
17:12Adikovic, Devlin on the turn, loses the ball, it's fizzed into the feet of Morrell, and now it's Ross.
17:19Ross driving beyond, and he squares the ball, it's in!
17:27On goal from Kosta and Adikovic, brings Falkirk level, and the Bairns have plugged away in this first half,
17:40and they have a reward, just a minute and a half before the whistle.
17:48Oh, a flash of a smile from John McGlynn.
17:59Now wants to go forwards.
18:03Away from Raskin, all too easily.
18:06Still going, Leon McCann.
18:10Eventually Rangers put a tackle in.
18:12Oh, and that's deflected into the path of Ross, who rolls it across!
18:17And Pandoor picks up, he's really poor from Devlin, and Ross into the right area, and Morrell, he should score.
18:30Here comes Curtis for Rangers, slips it to Shankland!
18:36And you feel if that's last season in a Hearts jersey, with Lauren Shankland confident in a form, he rolls
18:43that into the back of the net.
18:52Henderson.
18:55Slip from Giguani.
18:58And it's Barbrook for Falkirk.
19:00And it's Barbrook for Falkirk.
19:01Torte goes on the outside, and it's Barbrook, and the header!
19:07Oh, just over for Morrell.
19:12He's had two chances now.
19:14Fast feet from Torte for his challenge, breaks for Barbrook.
19:19And the header, back post from Jacob Morrell.
19:28Oh, and it's Slack, straight to Morrell, and Pandoor to the rescue for Rangers.
19:38Emmanuel Fernandes just completely switches off.
19:43And Morrell, well, they couldn't have dreamt of a better chance than that one.
19:48CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
19:58And the Rangers win it.
19:59A couple of bodies hitting the AstroTurf there, but it's Raskan.
20:03Gassama, lovely touch inside.
20:05Sadie Gassama, still going, it's Gassama!
20:08CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
20:12Did everything but finish it.
20:25Shanklins, finds Gassama, and it's Sadie Gassama, denied by Bain.
20:31Comes back in from Kim.
20:33McCrory under pressure, nice feet.
20:35And then finds Lauren Shanklins!
20:37CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
20:39Who picks out the bottom corner this time!
20:44And that is a huge, huge goal from the Rangers' captain.
20:51Brilliant feat for McCrory under pressure.
20:54He creates the opening.
20:56Gets away from two and nudges it to Shanklins.
21:00And he calmly strokes it into the corner.
21:04Got it for the players because they put so much into it,
21:06and I think we deserve something from it.
21:08But we didn't want to be this team who plays an entertaining game
21:11and it's a nice game to watch, but we didn't pick up any points.
21:14We've got to start picking up points.
21:16We appreciate it.
21:16We're playing Celtic on Saturday.
21:17We gave them a run for their money.
21:19We did well.
21:21Tonight we've done the same.
21:22We need to start picking up wins.
21:25It's delighted for the team to pick up another three points.
21:27We are looking for those learnings and improvements as we go along,
21:30but as long as you can win games is you're working to get better.
21:34And there's no bad thing not playing at your best,
21:36but still picking up all three points.
21:38And I thought there were some moments in the game
21:39where we looked really slick and really good
21:42and we created opportunities.
21:44And we can fine-tune some of the attack and play,
21:46but what we've got to do is make sure
21:48we don't give too much encouragement to our opponents.
21:51But coming away from home, tough venue.
21:54You've got to take the good from it,
21:56and three points is very important.
21:58It was a good battle,
21:59but it's Rangers who go home with all three points.
22:02And as Derek McKinnis says,
22:03they're a very important three points,
22:05and largely thanks to Lauren Shankland.
22:09He got off to a sticky start in his Rangers career,
22:11it has to be said,
22:12but a really important goal up at Pataudry at the weekend.
22:15And then tonight he showed his worth.
22:17Yeah, and that's why Derek brought him to the club.
22:19He's a penalty box striker.
22:22He's probably the best finisher in Scotland,
22:24you see there.
22:25I mean, for me,
22:27Scott Bain is just caught unaware, I think.
22:29But it's such a...
22:30He hits it so early.
22:32Very little back lift.
22:33He's almost off balance when he hits it.
22:36You see his movement in there,
22:36just peeling on the back of the centre-back.
22:38Doesn't know where he is.
22:39I don't think Scott Bain's expecting him to get the shot away,
22:41because he's facing away from goal.
22:43He just swivels quickly.
22:44You've got to be ready for it.
22:45You can't just...
22:45I mean, it goes in the middle of the goal.
22:48But yeah, it's a great finish from Shanklin's point of view.
22:51This is...
22:52You know, he keeps the ball alive there.
22:53Brilliant feet from McCrory.
22:55This is a wonderful finish.
22:57He's got...
22:58You know, he can't really swing his leg because of the full defender,
23:00but he just guides it into that far corner.
23:02On a slick-ass return pitch, it's always...
23:04Do you know, I like the wee header before it that he popped off.
23:07Because it's a clever wee header.
23:08Yeah, and he nods it and then finds a space again in the box.
23:11Ah, moves again.
23:11And the finish is just cultured.
23:13That's what you expect from Lorne Shanklin to get into that area.
23:15And it's, listen, three goals in the last two games.
23:18Four goals in his weaker foot tonight as well.
23:20You know, he's had to get...
23:22He put up with quite a bit of stick at the start of his Rangers career,
23:25so he'll be delighted to get those goals in tonight.
23:27Rangers, I think Derek alluded a wee bit towards it there
23:30in his post-match interview.
23:32They caused a lot of their own problems tonight.
23:34In terms of giffing up chances and slack play at times.
23:38Yeah, listen, Derek McInnes will be looking at it as two wins out of two,
23:42but there's no getting away from it.
23:43The performance isn't there of the levels,
23:45which the Rangers fans and Derek McInnes as a coaching staff
23:48will be looking for.
23:49There's still lots to work on defensively here.
23:53Nedeljkovic just caught unaware,
23:55and he obviously directs into his own goal.
23:56But I think Fernandes has got to do better for me.
23:58Yes, it is loose in the middle of the park from Raskin,
24:01who's came back in tonight.
24:02But I think if Fernandes is already aggressive with him,
24:04he doesn't get to turn and lift his head.
24:06And Ethan Ross just puts it into an area
24:07and a really poor goal from a Rangers perspective.
24:10Did you think there was a foul in there at all?
24:11He'll be pulling the jersey now.
24:13No, I don't think he holds on long enough.
24:17It's really quite soft.
24:19And I think they'd have been very, very fortunate to get away with that.
24:22This is inexplicable.
24:24I mean, inexplicable for Fernandes to do what he's done.
24:27And I mean, I would back myself in that situation to score that.
24:31Don't be ridiculous.
24:32But I think those are the moments that Rangers need to eradicate from the game
24:36because it makes everyone nervous.
24:38And at that period of the game, they had a couple of moments like that.
24:41There's another one coming up here.
24:42And it just builds the pressure and it builds the tension.
24:45And Falkirk were probably on top at that point in the game
24:47and looked more likely to go and score the goal.
24:49I mean, this is just a communication problem.
24:51The goalie clearly shouts.
24:53And then, you know, you just can't get a shot away.
24:55But really, really nervy times at the back.
24:57Yeah, but, you know, it has been positive, a positive couple of games
25:01in terms of results.
25:03You know, but do the performances need to start coming, Scott?
25:07And quickly, because they may not get away with that again
25:10because, you know, Falkirk were decent enough in the game.
25:12The performance level has to be over 90 minutes.
25:15Yeah, and they haven't managed to put a 90-minute performance together
25:18for me yet.
25:18And in terms of control, there was a real lack of control again tonight.
25:22But at this stage of the season,
25:23where there has been a bit of pressure on the players
25:25and the coaching staff, it's all about winning.
25:27And that's how they'll turn that into a positive.
25:28And it's a chance to build momentum.
25:30Momentum's huge, isn't it?
25:31Because just stringing together wins will build the confidence.
25:35They've taken a few knocks, a strangers team already,
25:37but that will just build the confidence.
25:38Like an end of a difficult game, obviously,
25:40against Motherwell at home on Saturday at Ibrox.
25:42Yeah, absolutely.
25:43And the thing is, you know, Derek said it.
25:45You know, you're winning games and you're not playing at your best.
25:48There's been a big turnover of players.
25:49It's going to take time.
25:50They're not going to be absolutely perfect, you know,
25:52within the first three or four weeks of the season.
25:54But as long as they keep nicking those wins,
25:57that will build the momentum, build the confidence.
25:59And you would imagine that the Rangers team will start to resemble
26:02something like Derek wants to see on the pitch.
26:04Yeah.
26:05For Falkirk, you've got a few a bit for John McGlynn there at the end, Scott.
26:10His last two games, obviously, Celtic Park, incredibly difficult,
26:14but come out of it with positives in terms of the way
26:17they approached the second half, the last 30 minutes of the game.
26:19And tonight gave a lot to the game and there was lots of things to like
26:23about Falkirk tonight.
26:24But ultimately, they're just sitting on that one point for the season so far.
26:28You spoke about it there.
26:29It needs to start seeing the performance levels married with points.
26:33Yeah, but I think you've got to take into account the level of player
26:36that Falkirk lost in the summer and you've seen them go elsewhere
26:38and really become stars at other teams.
26:41It was always going to be a slow building process this year for John McGlynn,
26:43I think, off the back of the last two games.
26:45They've been really competitive with Celtic and then Rangers tonight.
26:48But I think tonight will hurt him because he's seen that chance
26:50that Mirrell goes through the game swings if he scores that.
26:53Agreed.
26:54OK, Kilmarnock against St Mirren now with Neil McCann
26:57hoping for a better defensive display from his team
26:59after losing 13 goals in their opening three games.
27:04Two sides that have started the campaign very differently.
27:08St Mirren are second and unbeaten.
27:10Kilmarnock are yet to win a game and leaking like a sieve.
27:13One positive for them at least.
27:15St Mirren haven't won here in the league since 2013.
27:18Neil McCann has swapped three defenders and changed the shape.
27:21Eric Ring, George Stanger and John Lee Ifeco come in
27:24with the injured Robbie Dees and Nicky Kleschenko dropping out completely.
27:28Craig McLeish makes just one change swapping Fraser Taylor into the midfield
27:31in place of Samuel Ramos who has started every league game so far.
27:35New signing Nicolas Agrafiotis continues to start up front.
27:43Kilmarnock have been losing goals early in almost every game they've played this season.
27:46St Mirren are on the attack quickly.
27:48Mockery tries to pull it back.
27:50It comes all the way to Fraser Taylor.
27:52It's happened again.
27:54And this time it's St Mirren who strike quickly.
28:00It's a first Premiership goal for Fraser Taylor.
28:04And Kilmarnock's problems of conceding early haunt them again.
28:09It is so simple for St Mirren.
28:13Agrafiotis just laying it back for Taylor and he just passes it into the bottom corner.
28:21Not the start that he wanted to see for his side.
28:25How does he fix this problem?
28:27They're defending again.
28:29Kabya pulls it back, almost comes to John.
28:31It's deflected.
28:32Oh, it's off the post.
28:35It's so close to going from bad to worse for Kilmarnock.
28:39John Lee Ifeco getting the vital touch that carries it onto the woodwork.
28:46Good play from Kabya.
28:48And it's almost a goal for Calvin Ramsey.
28:51The on-loan Liverpool right back.
28:53Again, far too easy for St Mirren to get into the box.
28:59That's a pretty frustrated figure.
29:01Neil McCann is cutting.
29:03Ramsey whips it low, bouncing around.
29:05Will it break for St Mirren?
29:06It's Declan John.
29:09Got on the score sheet on Sunday with a fantastic goal.
29:13And this chance almost looks easier, but he blazes over.
29:19It remains 1-0 for the time being, but Kilmarnock are hanging on.
29:26Taylor this time pinging it out to Ismael Kabya.
29:30It's been a real handful for St Mirren.
29:33He goes down.
29:34It was McCarthy who gave him a shove.
29:37David Dickinson, the referee, not interested.
29:41Is that two hands on him?
29:43Is that enough of a shove for a penalty?
29:48Kilmarnock have changed three at halftime and changed the shape.
29:52Will it have the desired effect?
29:54Hugo goes down.
29:55That's a heavy challenge on him from Henry Fieldson.
29:58David Dickinson awards the free kick.
30:01In fact, it's Ryan Carr with the challenge.
30:05He's lucky to get away without a booking.
30:09Hugo strikes.
30:10Chapman has to save.
30:12The best effort Kilmarnock have had in the game so far.
30:15Chapman not too troubled by that, though.
30:20McCarthy brings it out of defence and launches it long.
30:24Gennaro Daniels, he's only just on as a sub.
30:25He gets in behind.
30:26He goes down.
30:28Now, who got the touch to that ball?
30:31Nothing given on the pitch at the moment.
30:35Daniels certainly appealed.
30:37He does get a toe to it first and then goes down.
30:44Tom Lowry looking for options.
30:49Kilmarnock have been better in the second half.
30:54And it's Schoening-Larsen with the shot.
30:57Chapman was always behind it.
31:00A nice little bit of solo play to work the opportunity.
31:03Didn't catch it cleanly.
31:07Clipped on.
31:08Oh, this is lovely from St Mirren.
31:11It's Incio running away.
31:13He finds Jake Young.
31:14The players are coming back.
31:16He can't quite get the shot away.
31:18Lovely flowing football from St Mirren again.
31:21Kilmarnock survive this time.
31:24In fact, they're coming forward.
31:25It's another ball over the top looking for Daniels.
31:28Chapman's come a long way from his goal here.
31:29Daniels will try and curl one in.
31:31It's only in to the side netting.
31:34St Mirren living dangerously there.
31:38A bit of miscommunication between Fieldson and Chapman.
31:42He would have done well to score from that angle.
31:49Kilty with the corner in.
31:50Oh, that was a huge chance.
31:52It comes to McKenzie.
31:53It's blocked away by Thomas.
31:55Well, a player leapt in the air for Kilmarnock
31:58and seemed to completely miss the ball with his header.
32:01What a glorious chance for an equaliser.
32:04I think it was McCarthy.
32:06McKenzie's volley blocked at close range.
32:09It remains 1-0 to St Mirren.
32:16I tell you what, it's hard sometimes.
32:19And it was the same I felt last year when I came in,
32:21when the confidence is low.
32:23It's hard to dig deep because the criticism's going to come.
32:28But I've said to them in there that they really stood up
32:31in the second half.
32:32They really went at it.
32:33They completely dominated the second half
32:35without getting ourselves back into the match.
32:37And that's what we've got to keep doing.
32:38Just keep on going.
32:39Keep believing.
32:40Making sure that we're doing the right things,
32:42preparing right.
32:43And all the time for them.
32:44Without question, all the time.
32:46The first half's great.
32:48That's what we want it to look like.
32:49We played with real quality.
32:52Probably just a bit disappointed that we didn't get another goal
32:57after the early one.
32:58But I think somebody said to me there,
33:00it's the first win here in over 10 years.
33:02So it's a tough place for us to come,
33:04kind of historically.
33:05So we're just delighted to get another three points.
33:09St Mirren's brilliant start to the season continues.
33:12Kilmarnock's troubles also continue.
33:15Scott, St Mirren got off to an absolute flyer.
33:17Fraser Taylor with the goal.
33:19Just four minutes in.
33:20Yeah, and Fraser Taylor coming in from the start tonight.
33:23He came on in the second half against Melbourne.
33:24I thought he had a real influence in the game.
33:26Cabbie as well, really lively in the early parts of the game.
33:28They were just too slick for Kilmarnock in this early stage of the game.
33:32At the same time, I don't think Kelly put any real pressure
33:35to go out and make contact with a St Mirren player.
33:37But it's well worked round the edge of the box.
33:39A couple of give and goes.
33:41But you've got to stay with runner.
33:42You've got to go and try and defend.
33:43Yes, you may be a wee bit of fortunate at getting through.
33:45But it's a lovely set.
33:46And Fraser Taylor with a fantastic composed finish.
33:50Yeah, and St Mirren were very good in that first half, Richard,
33:54as much as Kelly were a wee bit passive.
33:55St Mirren had a lot of really enterprising passing moves
33:58as we've seen them do in all their games.
34:00Yeah, but I think they had a bit of everything.
34:03You know, they've got Cabbie in the wing who's willing to go 1v1,
34:06commit defenders, put balls into the box.
34:08They're also very good at passing and moving the ball.
34:11They all want the ball.
34:12They all look comfortable.
34:13This, for me, is a penalty all day long.
34:16So, if Kevin Nisbet is a foul with two-handed push in the back last week
34:20or the weekend, two-handed push in the back, no foul.
34:24The inconsistency is what frustrates everyone.
34:27But he's gone by the defender.
34:29He pushed him in the back.
34:30And for me, that should have been a penalty.
34:32OK, interesting.
34:33A shout for a red card for this last-ditch tackle on Daniels by Fields.
34:39We've had a look at it.
34:41And I think St Mirren might have got away with one here.
34:43Yeah, for me, listen, I think Fieldsing gets caught under the ball
34:46and Daniels just powers through.
34:48And for me, he catches the back of his ankle.
34:51Daniels gets to the ball first.
34:52I think it's a red card and Neil McCann on his side
34:55will be really disappointed with that.
34:56But we can't, for the life of us, don't understand how it's not.
34:59He definitely touches the ball first and then is cleaned out.
35:01Absolutely.
35:02I'm guessing that Neil McCann has not seen this again
35:05before he did his interview.
35:07Because that, I mean, let's be honest,
35:09I think St Mirren should have had a penalty
35:10and Kilmarnock should have, and they should have had a man-setting off.
35:14Yeah, I mean, it's strange that Barham haven't intervened because...
35:16Daniels gets his studs on the ball
35:17and you can see the contact coming from the back of his ankle.
35:20And they obviously decided there wasn't enough in it.
35:23Kelly, as Neil mentioned, in the second half,
35:26the performance level improved.
35:29They dug in and really tried to give as much as they could in the game,
35:32but just couldn't quite get it over the line
35:34and get that goal to get themselves back in the game.
35:37Yeah, and in fairness to them, obviously, you know,
35:40they've conceded a lot of goals recently,
35:41but by only conceding one in the first half,
35:44they actually give themselves a chance.
35:45So they come out in the second half and they've got more energy.
35:48They look more dangerous here.
35:50You know, it's a really tight finish.
35:51It's poor defending, but it's a really tough finish from there.
35:54But they just looked livelier.
35:56You know, they did look like the team
35:57that were possibly going to score a goal.
36:00But they've just given themselves too much work to do in the first half
36:03because they're not scoring a lot of goals
36:05and they're conceding too many.
36:07So I would imagine Neil would be very happy
36:09with the second half performance,
36:11but he needs to get that across a 90 minutes
36:14and they need to stop conceding the first goal.
36:16Yeah, I mean, he changed the shape tonight
36:17as they tried to stop the goals,
36:19but conceding in four minutes doesn't do your confidence much good.
36:22Let's be honest, not a lot seems to be going right for Kelly
36:24at this minute in time, Scott.
36:26But Neil seems confident that it will turn.
36:28Do you share his confidence?
36:30I think the confidence he'll take from tonight
36:33is he's only conceded one.
36:34I think if you look at the last few games,
36:36they've been conceding a lot of chances.
36:38Tonight it was a lot better.
36:39At the same time, I think the first half would be worrying.
36:41I think when you look back at that on analysis
36:42and you see how passive they were at times,
36:44that's something that you can improve.
36:46You can go on the training pitch
36:47and selection obviously will come into play in the next game.
36:50But I think they've got enough quality in their team
36:52but have to start turning these sort of games
36:54into points on the board.
36:55They certainly do.
36:56Fur Park now for Motherwell against Dundee United.
37:02Motherwell return to Fur Park
37:04after a couple of league draws
37:06but with plenty of action in between them.
37:08Dundee United fresh from a 4-0 win
37:10at Rugby Park at the weekend.
37:18Motherwell make two switches
37:19from that late point against St Mirren.
37:21Kanga makes his first start
37:22after a stunning equaliser.
37:24Palmer Holden also comes into the attack.
37:26Dylan Levitt signed yesterday
37:27and could make a debut from the bench.
37:30No surprise, United are unchanged from that victory.
37:33Ferry showed his quality in that one.
37:35Kamara remains in the middle
37:36and Lyle Cameron could debut as a sub.
37:43Lyle looking to
37:45start with some heavy pressure.
37:47Good running behind.
37:49Palmer Holden
37:50into the box
37:51looks for the cutback
37:52it's all the way through
37:53big save from Walton
37:54now it's Longhello

37:56and it's off the post!
38:16Post!
38:18Benny tries to clear for Dundee United
38:20but look at Motherwell just swarm around
38:23trying to win the ball back
38:25I reckon he blows for a free kick
38:30Motherwell full of energy
38:32to start this game
38:35he won't come much closer
38:36than this strike from Longhello
38:41with the layoff
38:43there's not much space there
38:44Agi goes sliding in
38:46the referee blows the whistle
38:49Agi has a look
38:50oh and it's a red card!
38:53there's shock from Emmanuel Agi
38:55and the Dundee United players
38:57they can't believe that's a red
39:00well let's have another look
39:02some slick passing from Motherwell
39:04it's clumsy from Agi
39:06is it a red card low?
39:08that's what Dundee United are asking
39:13Kanga
39:14electric play
39:15Sparrow
39:16deflection on the cross
39:18Maswanisi's there!
39:20vicious strike

39:44Palmer Holden
39:45oh lovely strike
39:48the woodwork denied Motherwell earlier
39:52that time it helps out

40:42oh it's off the post

42:21to Chubutaru
42:22oh it's off the post
42:25the substitute
42:27frustrated
42:28it was a great effort
42:29bursting all the way
42:31up the pitch
42:33the question of offside
42:39Alfred Johansson will be
42:40satisfied
42:40but he'll want
42:41Motherwell to keep a hold
42:42of this clean sheet
42:44United take the corner
42:45header across
42:48Rose there again
42:49Pulsing can get back
42:50on the line
42:51to sweep up
42:52a couple of opportunities
42:54for Dundee United
42:56another rare venture
42:57forward for the 10 men
43:00it was a good performance
43:01today
43:01obviously
43:03we felt
43:04a couple of days ago
43:05how it is to play
43:06with a red card
43:07the opponent had to do it
43:08but I think we dealt
43:09very well with that scenario
43:10and I think we started
43:12the game good as well
43:13while it was 11 v 11
43:15so I think
43:16a good performance
43:17and a good result
43:19that probably could have
43:21been even more
43:22and yeah
43:24I'm proud of my players
43:24I thought we started
43:25the game
43:25that first 10-12 minutes
43:27I thought we started
43:28particularly well
43:28it looked as if it was
43:30going to be a decent game
43:31and then the red cards
43:33obviously
43:33killed us
43:34having to play that
43:34length of time
43:36with 10 men
43:37really puts you up
43:38against it
43:38I thought the boys
43:39were excellent
43:39I thought they worked
43:40really well
43:42they were really hard
43:43they worked tirelessly
43:44within that time
43:46and yeah
43:47it was just unfortunate
43:50Another three points
43:51for Alfred Johansson
43:51and Motherwell
43:52who remain unbeaten
43:53after four games
43:56let's talk about
43:56the Ajis sending off
43:58first of all
43:59it was a huge
44:00turning point in the game
44:01obviously
44:02do you think
44:03it was spot on
44:04do you think it was harsh
44:05how did you see it?
44:06I think he's very
44:06very unlucky
44:07he definitely tries to
44:08swing and kick the ball
44:09and there's absolutely
44:10no doubt that he
44:11basically just kicks
44:12the Motherwell player
44:14but he's not
44:14you know
44:15he's not kind of
44:15stamped down
44:16there's no intent
44:17there
44:18I think if the referee
44:19gives a yellow
44:20I don't think
44:21they'll overturn it
44:22but I think because
44:22he's given the red
44:24they're not going to
44:25overturn it either
44:25Scott what are you
44:26sure of your opinion?
44:27I'm a wee bit
44:28caught in between
44:29I think if I was
44:29on the end of it
44:30I'd probably be
44:32wanting the red card
44:33but yeah
44:33maybe a bit unfortunate
44:34I think as soon as
44:35you go down
44:35to 10 men against
44:36Motherwell
44:37then it's going to be
44:37a tough night
44:38It's probably not
44:39one of the teams
44:40you want to be playing
44:40with 10 men in the league
44:41Seb Palmer Holden
44:43he got Motherwell's first
44:44this is a lovely finish
44:45yeah it's good play
44:46from Motherwell
44:47they keep the ball alive
44:48again I know
44:49United are down to 10
44:50but there's no real
44:52pressure on the ball
44:52at any point
44:55it goes back wide here
44:56it's actually
44:57it's an OK cross
44:58it's an OK ball
44:59onto the box
45:00because it's got pace
45:00in it
45:01but it's an absolutely
45:02wonderful finish
45:03because he catches it
45:03on the bounce
45:04moving towards the ball
45:06you'll know better
45:08it's a hard finish
45:09it is a hard one
45:10to take that
45:11Scotty on the rise
45:11as it skips off the tough
45:13yeah it's pretty instinctive
45:15I think he does everything
45:16he can just to get it
45:17on target
45:18and it's a fantastic finish
45:18but I'm with Richard
45:20I think at that point
45:21in Dundee United
45:21you don't have an overload
45:22against them in the box
45:23you just have to attach
45:24yourself to one of the
45:26Motherwell players
45:27and make it hard for them
45:28especially when you're
45:29down to 10
45:30Alex Lowry
45:31I think he's looked
45:32really good
45:32since joining Motherwell
45:34and this is
45:34it's just a spectacular
45:36goal isn't it
45:36yeah I feel
45:37Alex Rowley and Motherwell
45:38is like a match
45:39made in heaven
45:40I felt it would be
45:41a really good place
45:41for him at this point
45:42in his career
45:42to come and really develop
45:44and it's definitely
45:45turning out this way
45:45at the early part
45:46of his Motherwell career
45:47picks up lovely spaces
45:49obviously Motherwell
45:49looking to play
45:50through the midfield
45:51and use him
45:51and this is his sheer quality
45:53fantastic strike
45:54into the far corner
45:55and it was just one
45:56of many quality things
45:57he'd done on the ball
45:57all night
45:58but as I said
45:58I think
46:00he's going to be
46:01the real creative
46:01I think he's going to
46:02have a big impact
46:03on that Motherwell team
46:04this season
46:04yeah just
46:05as I said
46:06he's a real eye
46:07for a pass
46:07and he's adding goals
46:08to that
46:08I think he can only
46:09get better
46:10Dylan Leavitt
46:11debut goal
46:13he's another player
46:14who we know well
46:15obviously
46:15and another player
46:17who you think
46:18is going to add
46:19a lot of quality
46:19to that Motherwell
46:21squad
46:21absolutely
46:22and you know what
46:23they've taken in
46:24a lot of money
46:24from transfer fees
46:25so they may as well
46:26go and spend it
46:27and they've brought
46:28in real quality
46:29again you know
46:30picks the ball up
46:31good pass out
46:32to Massonese
46:33lovely little
46:34reverse pass in
46:35between here
46:35and a really
46:36really composed finish
46:37goalie goes down
46:38a bit slow
46:38but yeah
46:41Motherwell looking
46:41really confident
46:42at the moment
46:42and you know
46:43we know how well
46:44they keep the ball
46:45and they're going to
46:46cause a lot of
46:47teams problems
46:47I think this season
46:48yeah
46:49talking about them
46:50being confident
46:50they're at Ibrox
46:51on Saturday
46:52the last time
46:53they went to Ibrox
46:54in April
46:54they won the game
46:55they're going to
46:56this game
46:56obviously unbeaten
46:57this season
46:57thinking they can
46:58take a scalp
46:59at Ibrox
47:00yeah
47:00and rightly so
47:01I think they've got
47:02a clear identity
47:03in how they want
47:03to play
47:03they won't change
47:04for anybody
47:05seeing that
47:06when they go away
47:06in Europe
47:06they were really
47:07confident
47:07still look to
47:08play their football
47:09it would be
47:10interesting to see
47:10how the possession
47:11looks after that
47:12that game
47:13at the weekend
47:14but I do feel
47:14they've got the
47:14quality
47:15really going
47:15hurt Rangers
47:16especially when
47:16you look at
47:17some of the
47:19defensive moments
47:19tonight from Rangers
47:20Murrow look to
47:21really punish that
47:23both Dundee and
47:24St Johnston
47:25lost last weekend
47:26who would come out
47:27and top
47:27as a seismic
47:28at Denz Park
47:29tonight
47:32after winning
47:33the Dundee derby
47:34recently
47:34the home side
47:35is aiming to
47:35double up
47:36in the Tayside one
47:37it's a fixture
47:37they've not lost
47:38in nearly two years
47:40St Johnston may feel
47:41they're due
47:41a change of fortune
47:43with just a single
47:44derby victory
47:44in the last ten
47:46Dundee freshened
47:47things up
47:47following the weekend
47:48defeat to Hibbs
47:49with Brad Halliday
47:50replacing Dre Wright
47:51at the back
47:51while further forward
47:52Alan Forrest
47:53replaces Charlie Riley
47:54and Bobby Wales
47:55makes his first start
47:56since his lone move
47:57from Swansea
47:59St Johnston
48:00bring Matty Todd
48:01into the right back
48:02berth in place
48:02of Liam Smith
48:03while Taylor Stephen
48:04comes in up front
48:11St Johnston
48:12have started this
48:13match well
48:13it's been pretty much
48:15Dundee on the back
48:15foot in the opening
48:16minutes
48:16and it's
48:17Alic
48:19to Taylor Stephen
48:20good reflexes
48:21from Goodman
48:22and goal
48:24well Taylor Stephen
48:25has not scored
48:25since January
48:262025
48:26he nearly did
48:28here
48:31no wonder
48:31he's happy
48:32good start
48:33St Johnston
48:35and still
48:36they press
48:38Holt in the middle
48:39directing operations
48:41Sam Stanton's
48:41involved as well
48:44and Brad Halliday
48:45is going to let
48:46this drop
48:48and he thinks
48:49this is a goal kick
48:49I'm not so sure
48:51well
48:52a momentary lapse
48:53there
48:53St Johnston
48:54corner
48:58Jamie Gullen
48:59with it
49:00looking for options
49:01in the middle
49:03Zach Mitchell's
49:04one
49:04might fall to Stephen
49:05and St Johnston
49:06all ahead
49:07no
49:08it's
49:09been ruled out
49:11much to Stephen's
49:12frustration
49:16he wants to know
49:17why
49:17is there a push
49:18there
49:19Zach Mitchell
49:20goes up for it
49:21that's why it's been
49:21disallowed
49:23frustration
49:24for St Johnston
49:26that's not going to
49:27count
49:36St Johnston
49:37will feel
49:37they deserve
49:38something
49:38from this first
49:3945
49:40Sam Stanton
49:41slips
49:41but then
49:42doesn't he do
49:42well after that
49:43still St Johnston
49:45attacking
49:45and
49:46well not for the
49:47first time in the
49:47half
49:48Owen Goodman
49:49to the rescue
49:49the Canadian
49:50international
49:50for Dundee
49:51didn't know too
49:52much about it
49:53but his reactions
49:53were good
49:55still St Johnston
49:56pressing
49:57still Dundee
49:58struggling
49:59to keep them
50:00at bay
50:01Mitchell
50:02looking for
50:03options
50:04might fall to
50:05Alic
50:06Goodman
50:07with a good
50:08double save
50:09there
50:09well the Dundee
50:10goalkeeper
50:11has done
50:12extremely well
50:13Owen Goodman
50:14that's come through
50:15a lot of bodies
50:16and he's kept
50:17it out somehow
50:20not exactly
50:21the conditions
50:22for fast
50:23flowing football
50:26Dundee
50:26looking to improve
50:27after the break
50:32forrest
50:32Joe Wesley
50:34could be in here
50:35promising for Dundee
50:36Wesley surely
50:38that is a big miss
50:40and he knows it
50:42well Joe Wesley's
50:43finding it four times
50:44this season already
50:45this should have been
50:47five
50:47he's onside
50:48he's trying to pick
50:50the far corner
50:50and he can't
50:52huge chance
50:53for Dundee
50:54wasted
50:55and he knows it
50:56the manager
50:58it's better though
50:59from Dundee
50:59in this second period
51:01putting a lot more
51:02pressure
51:03on St. Johnson
51:04now
51:04Charlie Riley's
51:05just come on
51:05as a sub
51:07Joe Wesley
51:08is he in here
51:09and again
51:10he just can't quite
51:11get his feet
51:11sorted out
51:12Joe Wesley
51:13better from Dundee
51:14though
51:16Riley's made
51:17an instant impact
51:18and once again
51:19Wesley will feel
51:20he probably should
51:20have done better
51:21here
51:24Nathan Hamilton
51:25again at the
51:26centre of things
51:27for Dundee
51:30Idris Odetayo
51:32crosses decent
51:34might fall to
51:35Charlie Riley
51:35who will feel
51:37that should have
51:38been on target
51:40he's had a good
51:41impact since coming
51:42on though
51:42should have done
51:43better here
51:45is there a goal
51:46in this game
51:50Brad Fink
51:50that's nice feet
51:51from him
51:52and a lovely pass
51:53Finn Robertson
51:54will keep this one
51:56in for
51:56the home side
51:58St. Johnston
51:59funnelling back
52:00the cross
52:02is a good one
52:02Wesley's there
52:03might fall for
52:05Riley
52:06Dundee have the lead
52:08it's Charlie Riley
52:09and it's late
52:11heartbreak
52:11for St. Johnston
52:14this is all about
52:16the delivery of the
52:17cross from
52:17Finnegan
52:18Wesley's header
52:19is good
52:19and Riley
52:20can't miss
52:21from there
52:23frustration for
52:24St. Johnston
52:25just a couple
52:26minutes to go
52:26and it's Charlie
52:28Riley who's
52:28headed Dundee
52:29into the lead
52:32what do
52:33St. Johnston
52:34have in reply
52:35time is running
52:36out
52:36Josh Fowler
52:37well he's putting
52:38that home defence
52:38under a lot of pressure
52:39that's not the best
52:40kick out
52:42Josh Fowler
52:43will have a chance
52:43here
52:44and St. Johnston
52:45have an equaliser
52:47well it didn't
52:48take them long
52:50just when Dundee
52:51thought they had
52:52all three points
52:53Josh Fowler
52:54had other ideas
52:54it's a brilliant
52:55finish
52:56it's not great
52:57defending from a
52:58Dundee point of view
52:58but St. Johnston
52:59will feel that they
53:00deserve this
53:02you know the
53:03reflection of the
53:04game was that
53:04St. Johnston
53:05had more possession
53:06than us
53:07controlled parts
53:08of the game
53:08but I think
53:10we probably
53:10had the biggest
53:12chances within
53:13the game
53:14and of course
53:15to take the lead
53:15so late on
53:16and not quite
53:17see it through
53:18is disappointing
53:19to come here
53:20and control the game
53:21the way
53:22we did today
53:24it was very
53:25very good
53:26then of course
53:28it would have
53:29been pity
53:30sad
53:31why ever
53:32that we would not
53:32get even one point
53:33for this match
53:34even we concede
53:35very late on
53:36we kept pushing
53:38we kept pushing
53:38and we got
53:40our call
53:41and one point
53:42one point
53:43we accepted
53:46well Dundee must have
53:47thought they had
53:48won it
53:48scored in the
53:4987th minute
53:50but in truth
53:51St. Johnston
53:52deserved something
53:53from that game
53:53do you feel that way
53:55Richard
53:55a draw at least
53:56yeah I think in the
53:57first half
53:58St. Johnston
53:58were probably a better
53:59side
53:59second half
53:59Dundee
54:01came back into it
54:02and I think
54:02Stephen Presley's
54:03analysis was spot on
54:04St. Johnston
54:05controlled large parts
54:06of the game
54:06but Dundee probably
54:07had the better
54:07opportunities
54:09you know
54:09they eventually
54:10scored a goal
54:11as the ball
54:11bounced off the bar
54:12but I see
54:13Charlie Riley
54:13before that
54:14slashes at a
54:15left foot shot
54:16Wesley's through
54:17one on one
54:17and fails to hit
54:18the target
54:19so I think
54:20I think a draw
54:20was a fair result
54:21over the piece
54:22fair enough
54:23take your word for it
54:2387 minutes
54:25Charlie Riley
54:26he put Dundee
54:28in front
54:28and at this point
54:29if you're a manager
54:30you're thinking
54:30brilliant
54:31three points here
54:32yeah
54:32and you would expect
54:33obviously being the
54:34home team
54:34that they're going
54:35to be able to see
54:36this game through
54:37it's a decent move
54:38from Dundee
54:39to get the numbers
54:39forward
54:40Finn Robertson
54:41does well
54:41to keep the ball
54:41alive
54:42he's just looking
54:43for that pass
54:44and at this time
54:44again Dundee
54:45just flood the box
54:46and it's what you
54:47see every week
54:48isn't it
54:49when you see
54:49this sort of goal
54:50Wesley with the
54:50header
54:51and it's a striker
54:52that's alive
54:52in the defence
54:53I thought he'll
54:54maybe argue with me
54:54or sit and looking
54:55waiting for something
54:56to happen
54:56but listen
54:58it's good play
54:58from Charlie Riley
54:59he's on the front
54:59foot
55:00and obviously
55:01gave Dundee
55:01the lead
55:02the first header
55:02is a decent one
55:03because it's kind of
55:04behind him
55:04and he manages
55:04to loop it
55:05up and over
55:06the goalkeeper
55:06he's a bit unlucky
55:07by that one
55:07yeah he is
55:08he's a great header
55:09but as a defender
55:10you're just thinking
55:10please go over the bar
55:11because you know
55:12you're on your heels
55:13and quite naturally
55:14attacking players
55:15are always going to gamble
55:16and it's a horrible one
55:17he shouldn't be in your heels
55:18no but if you gamble
55:20in too early
55:20and the ball bounces back
55:22over your head
55:22and Charlie Riley
55:23still scores
55:24you get the blame as well
55:25so you can't gamble
55:26as a defender
55:27you have to wait
55:27for the ball
55:31last minute
55:32of normal timing
55:32Josh Fowler
55:34popped up
55:35with the equaliser
55:35and it's a slack one
55:37from Dundee
55:38this
55:38yeah and this is
55:39the one that will
55:39really disappoint
55:41Stephen Presley
55:42listen I think this bit's
55:43okay
55:43go back to the goalkeeper
55:44then you just have to
55:45get distance on it
55:46he's caught in between
55:47playing and going long
55:48and it results in
55:49an equaliser
55:50and it's a fantastic finish
55:51I love the swiveling
55:52swiveling shot
55:53he does it with a wee
55:54drop of the shoulder
55:54cuts inside
55:55and it's an emphatic finish
55:56and on the night
55:58I felt St Johnson
55:58were well worthy
56:00of the point
56:00yeah I mean
56:01you as a defender
56:02there Richard
56:02should the defender
56:04running back
56:04not pass it to the goalkeeper
56:05and empty it out
56:06for a throwing
56:07I think if he can deal
56:08with it he should deal
56:08with it
56:09it takes the pressure
56:09away and they can
56:11defend the throwing
56:12how satisfied
56:13will Stephen Presley
56:14be with his start
56:15to the season
56:15I think he should
56:16be very satisfied
56:17I think they've
56:18had a couple of games
56:19where they've maybe
56:19not been quite at it
56:20but for the most part
56:22they're competitive
56:22they're aggressive
56:24they've got goals
56:24on their team
56:25won the derby
56:25they won the derby
56:27which is always massive
56:28early in the season
56:28and I think that
56:29they're building something
56:31really quite strong
56:31at Dundee
56:32and I've liked the look
56:33of them
56:33and I really like
56:33the way the manager
56:34speaks as well
56:35for Seymour Valakari
56:36you could see
56:37he was a wee bit
56:37disappointed there
56:38at the end
56:38but proud of his team
56:39to have come away
56:41with the point
56:42it's just a win-win
56:44but I feel as though
56:45they've been competitive
56:46in all the games
56:47that they've played
56:47that I've watched
56:48them play in
56:50much a bit like Falk
56:51there's a lot of
56:52positives there
56:53for them to build on
56:54do you feel as though
56:55over the course of the season
56:56that they're going to be okay
56:57or do you think
56:58they'll be fighting fires
56:59a wee bit down
56:59towards the bottom
57:00I think it's a wee bit
57:01too early to call
57:02if I'm honest
57:03I think they've definitely
57:04shown over the course
57:05of the start of the season
57:06that they've got
57:06performances in them
57:07I think tonight
57:08you look at that control
57:09which can you then
57:10turn that control
57:11into winning games
57:12that's now the task
57:13for Simo over the next
57:14few weeks
57:15what about you
57:15do you think
57:16St Johnson will be okay
57:17I mean have you seen
57:17enough from them
57:18to suggest that
57:19they'll stay away
57:20from trouble at least
57:21they would be one of
57:22the teams I'd be
57:22worried about
57:23yes they have been
57:24competitive
57:26but I think it's
57:27really quite interesting
57:28with some teams
57:29we worry about the
57:29performance
57:30and we don't
57:31mention the result
57:32but with some teams
57:33we only care about
57:33the result
57:34because they're
57:34putting in good
57:35performances
57:35you just can't win
57:36that's fit back
57:37Richard
