Fake Medicine Packaging Unit Busted in Saharanpur; Network Linked to Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh Food Safety and Drug Administration busted a counterfeit medicine supply network running from Saharanpur to Lucknow. Following the questioning of accused Ejaz, authorities raided a basement packaging unit in Saharanpur, seizing stripping machines, batch seals, die punches, printed aluminium foil, 973 printed cartons, lipid medications, fake anti-epilepsy tablets, and over thirty-two kilograms of steroids. In Lucknow, inspections revealed two batches of Levocetirizine declared not of standard quality following state laboratory tests. FIRs have been registered, and legal action is underway.

01:05A major raid was conducted in the Nagal area of Saranpur based on the information revealed during its interrogation, during

01:12In Saranpur, an entire setup for packaging medicines was unearthed.

01:17The stripping machine, batch, studios, dye punches and large quantities of packaging materials, including printed aluminium foil, were recovered from

01:25the basement.

01:26Meanwhile, in another operation in Lucknow, an inspection of purchase, sale records, invoices and ledgers revealed that two batches of

01:33Libera 500 were declared not of standard quality.
