La 22e édition du Tour de Grande-Bretagne s'est élancée ce mercredi, avec une 1ère étape autour de Lincoln. Et c'est Lewis Askey qui s'est imposé. Le Britannique de la formation NSN s'est extirpé dans le final en compagnie d'un petit groupe de costauds, profitant des pentes du Michealgate (400m pavés à 10,5%), emprunté à cinq reprises. Dans le dernier tour, Askey a porté son attaque à cet endroit et a réussi à rejoindre l'arrivée en solitaire, devançant de deux petites secondes le duo Filippo Ganna (Netcompany INEOS) et Tim Wellens (UAE Team Emirates XRG).
