“ELIMINATE ICE.” Maine Senate candidate Troy Jackson takes aim at Donald Trump’s immigration agenda, calling for the abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Jackson has argued that ICE is “not legitimate law enforcement” and says the agency should be eliminated. His remarks put Trump’s immigration policies, ICE enforcement, deportations and federal immigration operations at the center of the political debate.

The comments come as immigration remains a major issue heading into the 2026 midterms, with Democrats and Republicans sharply divided over border security, deportation policy and the role of ICE.

Watch Troy Jackson’s full remarks as he challenges Trump’s immigration agenda and demands major changes to federal immigration enforcement.

00:00I don't see ICE as a legitimate law enforcement, and that's why I don't think they need to be limited.
00:07The simple fact that matters is that when we're out there, when we're talking today,
00:14we're getting hired for immigrants, we're getting hired for black and brown people, people that don't look at them.
00:21It's really concerning what's going on.
00:24We saw ICE in the Portland area here in Lewiston.
00:31It's back in late January, February, and people getting pulled out of their vehicles,
00:36people getting pulled out of their homes, schools, churches, places like that, hospitals getting tired of it.
00:44And a lot of really great people were made to feel like they weren't welcome here.
00:52And that is unconscionable for me.
00:55And, you know, Senator Collins said back then that she used her power to get ICE out of Maine.
01:03Well then, you know, we had a young man in Bitterford that the only thing that he did wrong
01:09was to get up and go to work for his family that morning, and they murdered him right in the
01:13streets of Bitterford.
01:14And that, to me, is just something that I just don't think that the President, I don't think Senator Collins
01:24can walk away from it.
01:25I mean, from what I know, that's happened in four states now, that people were murdered.
01:30And in this case, he did absolutely nothing wrong.
01:34You know, he had a Social Security number, he had a job, he was here legally, he had a family,
01:41he had a young child.
01:42You know, I think about when I used to go work in the woods, and they would be gone all
01:48week.
01:49And how, you know, how much, you know, my kids hated it.
01:54Well, that's nothing compared to, I mean, that family is going to go without a father forever.
02:00And what did he do wrong at work?
02:03You know, that's what they say they want.
02:05After all, that's going to work in this case.
02:08So, my belief is that ICE needs to be eliminated.
02:46You know, we didn't always have ICE.
02:48Obviously, they had Customs, Border Patrol.
02:50They were actual law enforcement.
02:52I don't see ICE as legitimate law enforcement.
02:57And that's why I believe they need to be eliminated.
02:59The simple fact of the matter is that, you know, we're out there doing Trump's bidding,
03:07making it hard for immigrants, making it hard for black and brown people,
03:12people that don't look like them.
03:14But I know that in their world, if they were able to eliminate all that, you know,
03:20they'll come after what's next.
03:22You know, it never stops.
03:24It begins on power.
03:25They're always trying to do something to remove people that they feel are a burden.
03:30And I will say that, you know, as much as I've struggled my life with health care,
03:36you know, with prescription drugs, with child care, you know, housing,
03:41it is not immigrants that have been holding me back.
03:52There won't be a few people in this country that are not going to be like that.
04:01Okay.
04:04Next one is 5, 7, 2, 1, 1, 3, 7.
04:08Looks like Fred broke the door.
04:13Sorry Fred.
04:15Sorry Fred.
04:17Oh God.
04:28My question is basically, why have you been so soft but Susan Collins?
