00:07After a nice long weekend, I hope you guys feel refreshed and relaxed.
00:12And speaking of the weekend, the weather held up nicely for Independence Day celebrations,
00:18but then an area of lower-level convergence produced scattered showers
00:22with heavy to violent rainfall rates that affected eastern and northern Trinidad,
00:27which also delayed the big cricket game last night.
00:31But here's what we're getting tonight.
00:33Clear and hazy conditions, despite one or two brief showers,
00:37with minimum temperatures a bit warmer than our usual 25-26 to now 26 degrees in Trinidad and 27 in
00:44Tobago.
00:45And speaking of warmer temperatures across northern and western halves of Trinidad,
00:50higher temperatures and heat indices are expected.
00:54Keeping that in mind, tomorrow make sure you're applying and reapplying your sunscreen
00:59because it will be hot, with predominantly sunny and hazy conditions,
01:04with the occasional shower in a few areas.
01:07There's a low possibility of a heavy shower during the afternoon.
01:10Daytime temperatures will reach up to 33 degrees in Trinidad and 32 in Tobago.
01:16And while some showery interruptions are expected in the next couple of days,
01:20we will see more of it on Thursday in varying localities.
01:24While Friday will be sunny, hazy and breezy with 1 or 2 showers.
01:29Tower sun times now in Trinidad.
01:31Sunrise is at 5.56 and 5.52 in Tobago.
01:35And sunset at 6.14 in Trinidad and 6.12 in Tobago.
01:38And for those of you indulging in any water activities tomorrow,
01:42seas will be slight to moderate with waves 1 meter to 1.5 meters in open waters
01:47and below 1 meter in sheltered areas.

02:02Tomorrow, right here at home, we can expect a moderate concentration of Saharan dust in the atmosphere
02:08to protect yourselves accordingly.
02:09But here's what's happening with dust over in Syria.
02:14A powerful weather disturbance triggered dust storms across parts of the country over the weekend.
02:20Strong downdraft winds lifted large amounts of dust from the desert,
02:24creating an airy orange haze and sharply reducing visibility.
02:28The system also brought thunderstorms, heavy rainfall and strong winds to several areas.
02:34Syrian authorities reported 58 emergency responses across five provinces,
02:39including flooded homes and roads, fallen trees and walls, soil erosion and stranded vehicles.
02:46And for the stargazers, the original meteor shower reaches its peak tonight.
02:52While the shower is best viewed from the northern hemisphere and it's a relatively minor meteor shower,
02:58a few shooting stars may be visible for Trinidad and Tobago during the early morning hours,
03:04particularly from darker areas away from city lights.
03:07So, a different kind of shower tonight.
