00:17The opening bell is sounded and what an outstanding match-up this should be Doug Furness
00:29from All Japan Wrestling. Of course, most famous for his tag team accomplishments with partner Dan Crawford.
00:43They are probably the most successful tag team in the Orient.
00:51But tonight, Doug Furness goes it alone against the man, the young man, who has no respect for anybody, including
01:01and especially Sabu, Mr. Rob Van Dam.
01:15And Doug Furness introduces Rob Van Dam to the canvas.
01:23If you look at the size of Furness' length.
01:31Van Dam set for the ride. No reversal.
01:35There's a knee right through the point of the jaw.
01:41Furness set for the ride.
01:43Split-legged drop-down.
01:46Furness on a waist lock.
01:51Rudolph belly-to-back suplex.
01:57Furness exhibiting that great world-class power that has made him actually one time billed as the world's strongest man.
02:10Irish whip out of the corner.
02:13Van Dam gets the boot-up.
02:19Cross kick.
02:22I-Cross fighting for the second rope.
02:25Two count only.
02:29Van Dam lands on his feet.
02:31Gets a head of steam.
02:34Van Dam blocks the stun gun and Furness just powers him over the top rope.
02:45Van Dam trying to walk it off.
02:49That could take a week.
02:51He hit pretty hard.
03:02Van Dam now.
03:04Oh my God!
03:08Doug Burn has just shoulder blocked.
03:11Well, Van Dam into the third rope.
03:21Van Dam now.
03:22Van Dam now.
03:22Furness now hops the guardrail.
03:31You know, he's going to fit in pretty well.
03:33I can feel it.
03:34So can Van Dam.
03:40Doug Burn has taken it to the extreme.
03:43He's seen up!
03:44He's seen up!
03:46He's seen up!
03:48He's seen up!
03:49He's seen up!
03:51In case you forgot, you're watching Extreme Championship Wrestling.
03:54The most imitated wrestling promotion in the world today.
04:00Rob Van Dam running for his life.
04:04Doug Furn is hot on his heels.
04:13And they're going to roll up into the bleachers.
04:26Oh my God!
04:30Burn is just manhandling Van Dam.
04:34Oh my God!
04:38What an awesome powerhouse Doug Furness is!
04:52And Van Dam taking the hellacious beating at the hands
04:57of all Japan rival Doug Furness.
05:06vamos for today.
05:11Van Dam picks up a chair, but gets tackled for his troubles.
05:25They're damned, Tops.
05:48And Van Damme takes a clothesline that sends him flying over the steel guard rim.
06:00Ernest just stalking Van Damme.
06:08He is intense.
06:15Face first into the ring, Avery.
06:20Now stomping away.
06:24Van Damme is down on the concrete.
06:35And Van Damme may not be able to make it back in the ring.
06:43He's up.
06:45Doesn't look too happy.
06:49Bernie cinches him up.
06:53Going to bring it back in the hard way.
06:55Van Damme blocks the suplex attempt.
07:04And Furnace hits kidneys first into the side of the ring.
07:11Both men now on the floor.
07:20And Rob Van Damme showed up at the ECW Arena tonight saying he wanted some competition.
07:27And if he didn't put his own foot in his mouth, he certainly tasted Doug Furnace's.
07:38This is not where Furnace wants to be.
07:43Guillotine leg drop with a chair across the face.
07:49And the pendulum of momentum may have swung to the corner of Rob Van Damme.
07:58Just like that.
08:00Van Damme goes up top.
08:05He drops both legs across the chest of Doug Furnace.
08:09There's the cover.
08:09Hooks the leg.
08:10Two and two and a half.
08:18Van Damme, you can see it on his face, mulling it over, trying to figure out what he has to
08:23do to put Doug Furnace away.
08:27So four under the side of the jaw, making two.
08:32Irish whip, reversed.
08:36Van Damme lands on his feet.
08:38Spin kick misses.
08:41Belly to belly suplex.
08:43Beautifully executed.
08:45Cover hurts the leg.
08:48Two count only.
08:53And now it's Furnace.
08:55Looking for a way to put away Van Damme.
09:01Van Damme's over the right once again.
09:03Ducks the close line.
09:05Power slam.
09:10Furnace planted Rob Van Damme, but didn't get the three.
09:17Jim Allen on perfect position.
09:20The shoulder came up.
09:34And perhaps out of desperation, and that may have backfired as Doug Furnace landed on top of Rob Van Damme.
09:45One, two, three, two, three, two.
09:48Federal press.
09:52Almost three, not quite.
09:54The left shoulder came up.
09:59And this has been a pretty evenly contested matchup.
10:05Furnace in control early on.
10:06And now it's all Van Damme.
10:19Furnace being set up.
10:21Or have for a super flex.
10:25It appears to be the case.
10:29Van Damme cinches him up.
10:33Furnace blocks it.
10:38And just launches Rob Van Damme who crashes face first to the canvas.
10:43Furnace ascends the turnbuckle.
10:46And unleashes a close line.
10:51Van Damme rolls to the outside.
10:55It looks wobbly.
11:00Van Damme is frustrated.
11:02You can see it, but that's when he's most dangerous.
11:05It was that frustration that propelled him to a victory over Sabu.
11:09And a matter of respect.
11:11Will that frustration help?
11:14Van Damme with the champ.
11:18And Furnace felt that one.
11:22Right to the back of the skull.
11:24Van Damme trying to knock Furnace out.
11:27Goes up top.
11:29High-throws body.
11:31Furnace trying to reverse it.
11:33Van Damme blocks the reversal too.
11:37Not quite three.
11:47Van Damme back up first.
11:56Furnace up for the ride.
11:57Reversal.
12:00Van Damme got caught that time.
12:04Tombstone on the champ.
12:08But Furnace collapses.
12:10Perhaps out of a combination of exhaustion.
12:13And being pounded on the back of the skull of the champ.
12:20He covers Van Damme too.
12:24And Van Damme barely kicks out.
12:28Both men are down.
12:30And this matchup has been so physical.
12:33So hard hitting.
12:35So extreme.
12:36That it's obvious it has taken a toll on both athletes.
12:41Furnace into the corner.
12:45Van Damme can barely stand.
12:47Somersault.
12:49Going for the monkey foot on the chair.
12:53And did you hear that?
12:58That shook Van Damme's vertebrae.
13:02Furnace had that move.
13:04Well scouted.
13:05And it's payback time.
13:09Furnace going for the knockout.
13:11The ref moves in to take on Van Damme.
13:13Furnace shoves him away.
13:15Van Damme capitalizes.
13:17Spin kick.
13:17Furnace takes the chair to the face.
13:19He hooks the leg.
13:20Cover.
13:21He got him.
13:23Ladies and gentlemen.
13:2614 minutes.
13:282 seconds.
13:29Your winner.
13:31Rob Van Damme.
13:35Rob Van Damme squeaks by Doug Furnace.
13:39Who made the mistake of turning his head for half a second to look at the referee.
13:46Van Damme hit the spin kick.
13:48Furnace ate the chair.
13:50And that was the end of this outstanding matchup.
13:56Both men still down.
14:00Doug Furnace made his ECW debut.
14:02Of course he's most famous for being a part of a tag team with Dan Crawford in Japan.
14:08Give cred to both men.
14:10Especially Van Damme who took one hell of a beating.
14:13Take another look at some of this action.
14:17The spin kick caught Furnace.
14:20Took the chair right in the mush.
14:23Van Damme pounced on him like a cat.
14:26Hooked a leg.
14:27And stole Sabu's theme music.
14:37Van Damme extends a hand to Furnace.
14:39Shake my hand Doug.
14:39You're the.
14:41It's you man.
14:42I do respect you.
14:43Don't worry about those other chumps.
14:45Of course I don't respect them.
14:46You.
14:47Rob Van Damme respects you Doug Furnace.
14:50Shake my hand.
14:51Well who'd have thunk it.
14:54Doug Furnace with a short arm clothesline.
14:58Could care less about Rob Van Damme's respect or a lack of it.
15:08Van Damme out of character extended a hand to Doug Furnace.
15:14Who almost took his head off.
15:18And that was a power hoist.
15:20I don't know what in the hell he calls that.
15:23Devastating to say the least.
15:25And Van Damme is down.
15:27He is not moving.
15:29Rob Van Damme who showed no respect for Sabu in defeat or in victory.
15:37Extended his hand to Doug Furnace who damn near took his head off.
15:42And flung him through the air.
15:45There.
15:47Van Damme is still not moving.
15:52He is face first on the canvas.
16:00And he's going to need some help.
16:03Here comes damage control.
16:13I mean the clothesline alone may have given him a concussion.
16:20Then Furnace just tossed him.
16:27Adding insult to what may be a serious injury.
16:33Dr. Mark Allen.
16:35ECW physician as well as damage control.
16:39Our in-house licensed paramedics.
16:42Attending to Van Damme.
16:44Who is going to ride the stretcher to the back.
16:48And perhaps to the hospital.
16:50It's hard to tell at this point.
16:52And I don't think this is what Rob Van Damme had in mind.
16:56When this match began.
16:59A shocking turn of events here tonight.
17:02At Natural Born Killers.
