00:08Good morning guys. It is currently 7 a.m. Lloyd and I have been at the hospital for the past

00:17nearly two days. Our little girl has finally arrived. I'm on cloud nine at the moment. I'm

00:24high on dopamine I think. Extremely tired. We've had about four hours sleep in two days

00:31but absolutely worth it because my goodness am I in love with our baby girl.

00:41I don't think anyone could have prepared me for a experience like this or a feeling. Yeah I'm

00:50I'm just on cloud nine at the moment. I'm just about to have some breakfast. We're supposed to

00:55be going home today so I kind of wanted to film just like what a first week looks like with

01:01newborn. A lot of learning curves. I have not spent much time with newborns my whole life so

01:09learning a lot especially with like with breastfeeding which has actually been going

01:13really well which I'm surprised by um which I'm very blessed uh because I know it's not easy for

01:21everybody but we're really excited just to get her home and maybe get a little bit more sleep take

01:28turns having a nap. Lloyd's just ran out to get himself a coffee um we're just going to learn how

01:33to do like a proper bath for her um to take care of like the umbilical cord and everything um

01:39and if

01:39that goes all good then we get to go home. Uh so I'm really excited but we'll take you guys

01:44for our first week with our new baby girl Lila who will be part of the channel now. Good morning

02:02I just like can't stop staring at her. I can't believe that like this is the baby that's been in

02:09my belly for nearly 10 months um and like all the movements that she does I know what that felt

02:19like

02:19like in my belly and now she does them outside is pretty crazy. I just like can't believe I'm a

02:25mother and like Lloyd's a father this is like the best feeling ever um and she's healthy and I'm

02:33recovering really well which again very blessed. I couldn't ask for a better experience right now um

02:41I did a completely natural birth which was the most challenging thing I've ever done

02:49I didn't do epidural early labor started about 11 a.m. and then she wasn't born till just before

02:57midnight so it was a very long day but um I got through it and I feel so powerful and

03:04like just

03:06so grateful for my body and like how I've been able to like take care of it and my health

03:11so

03:11the investment was it has definitely been worth all the time that I've put into trying to take care

03:15of my body and watching Lloyd become a dad my goodness this is like my new favorite chapter

03:23that we get to share with you guys. I just brought me some breakfast here the food hasn't been too

03:30actually um I kind of lost my appetite yesterday so I didn't eat too much but I think I was

03:36just like

03:37yeah adrenaline running but yeah food's been as far as hospital food it hasn't been like what you

03:44would get served in I don't know in Canada for example they actually serve like fresh food um and

03:51they had like a big menu that I got to choose from and someone came in took my order which

03:56was pretty

03:57good our experience has been pretty good Lloyd's has been a bit different than mine so I'll let him

04:03share his thoughts when he gets back yeah feeling good how you going

04:09a bit tired no actually not that's not too bad

04:15on a bit of an adrenaline high hey considering I've had about an hour and a half maybe sleep in

04:23two nights I don't feel too bad it must be a drama I'm pretty ready to go home though yeah

04:31very ready

04:32what was your experience with the hospital here overall it's really good we'll do a complete

04:39different video about the birthing experience I think yeah okay but have you shown them my awesome

04:44bed they got the best bed for husbands here it's leather so if you ever want to pick out like

04:53the

04:53best bed to sleep on get leather it's perfect especially if you like don't have a shirt on or

04:59anything and then with no arms on it it's very narrow which is great it doesn't fold out or anything

05:06there's no um head rest for your pillow so like your pillow can come up on and off really easily

05:13good Lloyd's got a little mini me everyone's said Lila is definitely Lloyd's daughter which makes me happy

05:27because I love him and now I've got a little mini him girl version I think they say um

05:38that newborns look like their dads so the dad doesn't abandon them oh isn't that it yeah I think so

05:48she's beautiful though

05:54yeah all is good we get to go home now we got given this incredible gift basket

06:05packed full of stuff for the baby nappies formula if we need it but hopefully we don't and I get

06:13to keep this awesome basket I'm so excited about the picnic basket wow we're actually checking out

06:18of here early we're supposed to have another night but um yay how good is this sleep in our own

07:05all right we survived night one at home with baby girl I got a lot of sleep which was great

07:15I couldn't keep my eyes open I slept for like 12 hours I think I only woke up once

07:22um when she was making some noise Mandy was up a bit but she even got some sleep too hey

07:30yeah a few few hours she's been amazing so good just got back from

07:36um the doctor as well which it's pretty hard to get myself to go um but all is good and

07:46um yeah she's

07:47doing great we're both doing good yeah she's doing great um I just gotta go take our car to get

07:55some new seat belts installed because when we bought it it didn't have any here's the ice cream man

08:03when we bought our car it didn't have any seat belts and we had to get some installed but they

08:08installed some uh aren't big enough so i'm gonna go do that because uh obviously we need seat belts to

08:17drive her around we don't want to keep getting grabs everywhere so i'm gonna go do that and then uh

08:25come home and relax with Mandy and baby

08:35shut up mate we've never bought anything off this ice cream guy and he comes and stops by our house

08:42every time now you're on camera buddy we got like a war going with him he like is so convinced

08:57that

08:57we're gonna stop with me and buy ice cream well when Mandy was pregnant and trying to sleep he just

09:03comes and sits outside our house for like five minutes and i'm like dude go away we don't want

09:08any ice cream never bought anything whatever see ya

09:44so get some fuel and then i'll drive out to the mechanic who by the way has been amazing

09:52the guy we bought this car off um it's been so helpful like with getting it serviced and getting

10:00seat belt put in just everything like that would have been a little bit challenging without speaking

10:06thai like he's really helped us out with he didn't just sell us this car and then like abandon us

10:12basically which is really awesome and it kind of is typical of thailand hospitality in my opinion

10:25okay the guys are just putting the seat belts in just gonna go grab a coffee and come back and

10:32hopefully hopefully to be done in about 10 minutes and then i can go back home and relax with mandy

10:39and

10:40lila because uh to be honest i already miss her well miss both of them

10:58so i guess now is a good time to talk about what it feels like becoming a dad and uh

11:05bringing baby home

11:07i gotta be honest i thought i would have a lot more fear and anxiety the first

11:1424 48 hours um that was one thing that really worried me like you're bringing this little baby

11:21home and you don't know what to do how to look after it but it doesn't feel like that at

11:26all and

11:26i think after that first night in the hospital mandy just she's amazing like and maybe this is the same

11:34with all mothers but it's almost as if her maternal instincts just kicked in right away and she knows

11:42exactly what to do like literally from the minute lila was born she just turned into this super mom and

11:51she's kept me feeling really calm and i don't i don't feel worried i feel like we just

11:56everything is going to be fine we know what we're doing and uh also all the

12:03normal anxieties and worries and stresses that i had a week ago which is like you know just the normal

12:09stuff like money and and work and whatever i'm thinking about the future it feels like it's all

12:29probably forever but yeah it's amazing okay seat belts are installed i just tested it works with the

12:40baby seat so we're all good if we want to take baby anywhere we can which is the whole reason

12:50we got

12:50the car in the first place and they didn't even charge us anything for it i think because they put

12:56the initial seat belts in that they're big enough they just did it for free really really nice people

13:09okay mandy's just going to go get a massage which means it's just me and baby lila here

13:16i just want to take a quick second to say thank you to everyone who's dm'd us uh commented

13:24and just sent all their well wishes for the baby um we're really grateful that we have so many people

13:31that have really seem to be invested and really care about the health of mandy and baby lila so thank

13:41you to everyone and also i want to say thank you to safety wing uh for helping us through this

13:48journey we couldn't have done it without them honestly we've been using safety wing for about

13:54three years but we really needed to use them this year during mandy's pregnancy and uh obviously during

14:02the childbirth and postpartum not only were we covered financially for everything but they gave us

14:08peace of mind we were able to organize with them to pay the hospital directly for the childbirth which

14:18was a massive weight off our shoulders because even though delivering here in thailand wasn't super

14:25expensive if something did go wrong then there was always the chance that it was going to end up

14:32a pretty huge hospital bill and with so much going on it's kind of like a crazy time

14:38when your wife goes into labor with all that going on the last thing i really wanted to be worried

14:43about was finances and having to pay a massive hospital bill so safety wing covered us for up to

14:51seven and a half thousand us dollars for mandy's entire pregnancy uh the childbirth and even postpartum

14:58for 30 days which means mandy's going to get a massage now and even that's covered and i really

15:05don't know if we would have been able to do this without safety wing so thank you to them and

15:11if

15:44first walk first walk how are you feeling sore

15:51but good just going for a very slow gentle walk down our street it's the first time that we've taken

15:58her out so nice so happy we live in such a peaceful neighborhood

16:05um yeah so this is day three i guess and everything's going really easy to be honest right

16:15yeah i don't want to jinx it but things have been going very smoothly

16:22yeah i don't know feels like we've found our feet already but maybe things will get harder

16:30i'm personally nowhere near as exhausted as what i thought it would be

16:36and mandy seems fine too

16:41yeah weirdly i think pregnancy definitely prepared me for having less sleep and i feel like i was

16:50already like in sync with what her sort of schedule is um she's been like an angel so far so

16:56i'm like

16:58again i don't want to jinx it but she's been like the perfect baby

17:01you know what's so really grateful for the i guess jobs we've chosen like um if i had to go

17:10back to

17:11work on monday uh that'd probably make it a lot tougher yes just both of us being able to be

17:17home

17:17all the time like even if i'm up half an hour like it doesn't matter i can sleep half the

17:23day and then

17:23get work done later in the arbor or whatever i reckon like we can choose our own schedules which

17:30you know was kind of always the plan and it seems to be working out

17:38okay it's day what day day six yeah yeah we didn't vlog the last couple of days we've just been

17:45enjoying

17:46um spending time with baby lila and i feel like we've got any good routine huh

17:52yeah they're both sleeping good and it's not i don't know it doesn't seem as bad as everyone

17:58said maybe we're in for a surprise but uh so bear just got dropped off by his dog sitter and

18:07so we're

18:08going to introduce him to the baby we're going to see how this goes i think he'll be okay i'm

18:13a bit

18:13nervous but i think he's just going to be too excited when he comes in yeah right now yeah i

18:20think we're

18:20going to try and stop him from licking her um and hopefully he doesn't get too jealous but we'll see

18:26how he goes bear hey buddy hey bud hey straight to the bowl

18:46oh you got your toy

18:50hey he's always so excited when he gets home

18:56yeah look you have a sister

19:02there's so much anticipation he doesn't even know it is we've been like building this up in our minds

19:09for days and figuring out how to do it he doesn't even give a shit

19:22he thinks you're just holding a toy or something maybe

19:27hey yeah come on hey buddy

19:38i guess he's cool

19:45man he just wants to play with his ring

19:54everything that i've like had anxiety about like beforehand has not happened yeah literally

20:04we'll see how he goes later he might actually figure out what's going on

20:08so

20:14day seven we just got back from the doctor

20:17lila has put on all of her birth weight she's grown two centimeters and everything's good so we are

20:23at our favorite restaurant having lunch and a beer which we didn't think we'd be doing in the first week

20:34they gave us pillows they're taking care of us here love this restaurant

20:40they were all super excited when we walked in to see her as well because they've obviously seen

20:45mandy pregnant for nine months so yeah it's cool okay we skipped forward we're on about day 11

20:55and it's lila's first trip to the beach with bear and it's perfect didn't it i couldn't ask for a

21:02better morning what's she doing she likes any carrier

21:09i don't know what's she doing she's been taking care of lila through the night and through the day

21:29she's been baking us nice treats she went to

21:34the gym for the first time yesterday with lila strapped to her chest on the treadmill and did a

21:40little bit of weight it's nothing too crazy though and she's also already done yoga this morning it's

21:45like 7 30 so i don't know how she's doing it she's absolutely crushing it uh lila and mandy are

21:52both

21:52doing great so yeah that's our first week and a bit with a newborn here in thailand and i can

22:01honestly

22:01say we don't regret at all having her here it's been it's been awesome from start to finish

22:09everyone's so nice and helps us out now we just get to enjoy spending time with our baby here the
