00:0014 fights, 14 wins, and it all comes down to this.
00:05Tomorrow night at the O2 Arena, Chatham's own Moses Atama will face off against Filip
00:10Hergovic for the heavyweight world title.
00:13But back in the Garden of England, aspiring professional boxers are excited about what
00:17a win for Atama could mean for them and the rest of the county.
00:21Mark is 18 and trains at Unique Boxing Club in Chatham, which he says is like having a
00:26second family.
00:28It kind of inspires you a little bit, you know, seeing that someone like that comes
00:31from a place 20 minutes down your road.
00:36You don't really hear about a lot of big fighters coming from your local gym, you only hear it
00:40online.
00:40So I think, yeah, it's quite inspiring seeing that you can be from Kent and you can be world
00:44champion.
00:45I think that's quite good.
00:46Well, Moses, I mean, he's a massive inspiration really, so I mean, when you look at him becoming
00:54the youngest heavyweight in Britain and I've met him and I've had lads spar with him in
01:02the past, he's just a great inspiration.
01:06And with Medway now having fighters contending for world titles, it's not just an inspiration
01:11for those hoping to go pro, but also for those who are just hoping to come along, have somewhere
01:16to be, maybe let out some anger and learn the ropes of boxing along the way.
01:20I've been to a lot of gyms.
01:21I've been to a lot of pro gyms, amateur gyms, white collar gyms, you name it, I've been to
01:24it.
01:25I don't think there's a gym that I've ever been at where it feels like family.
01:29Everyone in there is family, there's no egos.
01:31Well, I mean, to be honest, the area that we're setting, we're in a very, very poverty
01:36struck area.
01:38So I think it gives kids and just general people in general just somewhere to come and express
01:45themselves or let any anger out or stuff like that or anything that's just bothering them
01:51really, just giving them an escape.
01:53So I think the more gyms that we have like this where actually it's not all money orientated
01:59and it's there to support the community, I think it's a massive benefit.
02:03Depending on the result this weekend, Itama could go from a local legend to a worldwide
02:07phenomenon, becoming the blueprint for Medway fighters hoping to be champions.
