Some household lessons arrive with a quiet kind of backup.
The filmer, Molly, shared the moment from Rochester, New Hampshire.
A small kitten, Calliope, is partway up a coffee table, clinging near the edge as she tries to pull herself onto the top. An older cat, Rogue, moves in close beside her and reaches toward her with a paw. The kitten shifts her footing while the older cat steadies her, staying near the edge as she works her way over. With the older cat positioned alongside, the kitten finally gets onto the tabletop and regains her balance.
It is a simple rescue that reads like an older sibling stepping in at exactly the right moment. The scene ends on a calm note, with both cats close together after the brief scramble.
