00:00This is a great story, and it's an honor to be with Ryder Williams, who is a 16-year-old
00:08lifeguard, California, the Santa Cruz area. He saved this young gentleman who I had a long
00:17talk with. I said, would you have made it without him? And he said, not really, right? Not really,
00:22it was trouble. So you're going to have a long and beautiful life. And I just thought it was,
00:27we were all watching. Everybody watched and got a lot of publicity because of the ferocity of the
00:33waves. I've never seen waves. I mean, that was sort of violent. We were just discussing, and
00:39at certain times of the year, mostly like right around now, the waves get very rough in that area
00:45and they're swirling. And if you don't know what you're doing, it's going to be tough. Or if you're
00:49small, if you're young. So I just want to congratulate Nathaniel Ray for coming through
00:58an ordeal. That means you're going to have good luck in life.
01:01In those dangerous moments that we have, we always try to fall back on our training. We
01:04are trained so well by many to handle that situation as best we can. So I really am just
01:09thinking about how to get the boy out of the water as fast as I can. And for shaping my
01:14future,
01:14I want to be a firefighter in the future. Hopefully go to paramedic school. So excited
01:18to see something like this happen. He's a real hero. You know, when you see that, I don't
01:24know if I'd do it. I wouldn't probably. You're lucky I wasn't. You're lucky I wasn't on service
01:30that day. I don't know.
