00:00Plenty on the line, a place in the quarter-finals and we're underway.
00:05River Plate against Independiente Santa Fe.
00:07For a place in the Commonwealth Surinacana quarter-finals.
00:11I will be bringing you this one from the Monumental.
00:23Gilbert River constructed a move well down the right this time.
00:26Cross comes in, flicked away, falls in the back post to Busey's there.
00:30And probably he's over the top of the crossbar.
00:35A very nicely constructed move by River, sweeping down that right-hand side.
00:41Henkel Correa had a bit more space than I think he realised here with that first-time layoff.
00:46Could have in fact taken it on himself into the area.
00:52Busey couldn't wait any longer for that to drop, had to take it early.
00:56In the end.
00:57Puts the ball over the top of the crossbar.
00:59Promising from River.
01:06Montiel down the line for the Liusidrius into the box.
01:09Hits one into the side net of Correa in fact it was making the run.
01:16Rifles that one.
01:18With some venom.
01:21On his side as he makes that forward run.
01:24Only one inside the area almost had to take the shot on.
01:31And again.
01:32There was a cross in, there's no one there.
01:35End in the hands of Asprea.
01:37Hedette turned there.
01:39Inside onto his right.
01:41Opens up space here into the left.
01:42Good chance for River.
01:43Into the six yard box.
01:44It's loose.
01:45Can't turn it home.
01:46Blocked.
01:47And the ball eventually away to safety.
01:56Brilliant play by Thiago Almada.
01:59Leaves two on their behinds as he plays it wide for Acuna.
02:03And this could have ended up anywhere.
02:05Just enough red shirts back inside that six yard box.
02:09Throwing themselves in front of the ball to prevent River opening the scoring.
02:18It is indeed.
02:20The whistle blows.
02:21Chacho Grudet.
02:22Straight off down the bend.
02:24Down the tunnel.
02:2745 minutes remain.
02:29Half time here.
02:30River Plate nil.
02:32Independiente Santa Fe nil.
02:34Nil-nil in the tie.
02:36Back underway.
02:38River nil.
02:39Santa Fe nil.
02:42Quarter final tie against Vasco da Gama.
02:46Awaits the winner of this one.
02:51Once more.
02:52One back by Moreno.
02:53Pass onto the edge of the box.
02:54Now there's a firm challenge that you see.
02:57Tries to force a shot through the crowd.
02:59And it does force a corner.
03:05Almada.
03:07Accelerates towards the box.
03:08Great turn on the edge by Correa.
03:09Correa.
03:10Shoots.
03:11Once again.
03:12Close to the goalkeeper.
03:13That's.
03:14It's River though.
03:15The teams are coming forward.
03:16Looking to kill this tie off.
03:17Nantiel's involved again.
03:18Correa.
03:20Shoots again from outside the area.
03:24Oh they're in.
03:24Floats into the edge of the box.
03:25A volley comes in.
03:27Beautifully struck by Acuna.
03:29And tipped over the crossbar.
03:32Out swinging corner that follows.
03:34Towards the cluster of players at the back post.
03:37Tipped over the top by Asplia.
03:38Long throw from the visitors.
03:40Flicked on towards Fagundes.
03:42Drops outside the area.
03:44The shot that comes in.
03:45Looping.
03:45And that's a spectacular save from Beltran.
03:49It was not the cleanest of strikes.
03:51But it was dropping underneath the crossbar.
03:54And it's a stunning stop.
03:57By Santiago Beltran.
04:05Let's take a look at this effort from outside the box.
04:12Beltran.
04:14And it seems to be already hobbling a little as he goes after that loose ball.
04:23Brilliant save from the youngster.
04:24Just see there.
04:25Already kind of almost.
04:27Take Valvera with the corner.
04:30Licked into the six yard box.
04:32Appeals for a hand ball.
04:33A penalty.
04:35Penalty awarded to River.
04:36To Santa Fe.
04:40River players swarm around Estevano Stockic.
04:47Moments after Beltran.
04:50Saves them.
04:52Let's take a look at this one again as it's hooked towards goal.
04:56Clear arm of.
04:58Martinez Guata.
05:00Away from the body.
05:01As it's hooked goalwards.
05:03There will be no coming back from that.
05:06Regal.
05:07Now get the chance to be a hero once again for River with just 10 minutes remaining.
05:12Fagundes.
05:14Stands over this one.
05:15For Santa Fe.
05:17And fires it into the back of the net for the equalizer.
05:23Beltran getting something on it.
05:24But.
05:25The ball struck.
05:27Firmly enough.
05:29By Fagundes.
05:30To bring Santa Fe level at the Monumental.
05:33Against the run of play.
05:39Fagundes.
05:47Went with power.
05:49And even though Beltran got two hands on it.
05:52He could not turn it round the post.
05:58Building to a crescendo now for River Plate supporters.
06:03Mesa.
06:04The full time whistle blows.
06:06There will not be another chance.
06:08It will be penalties.
06:10Here at the Monumental.
06:12It finishes.
06:13River Plate one.
06:15Independiente Santa Fe.
06:16With the responsibility.
06:18And firing into the back of the net.
06:20River off the mark.
06:23Can he stop this one?
06:25Well again he goes the right way.
06:26But he's.
06:27To make it 2-1.
06:29Keeper stands his ground.
06:30Correa.
06:30Back level for the second time in the shootout.
06:32Torres.
06:33Sends Beltran the wrong way.
06:352-2.
06:36In the shootout for River.
06:39And he.
06:40Rolls it into the bottom corner.
06:43And he can.
06:45Beltran with the save.
06:47And it for River.
06:49Freitas.
06:50Into the back of the net.
06:52And River lead.
06:534-2.
06:53In the shootout.
06:56Decided it.
06:57Palacios scores.
06:59And does indeed.
07:01Prolong the shootout.
07:04To seal it.
07:06And he's at the post.
07:08The chance to win it.
07:10Not taken.
07:11By Rafael Santos Borre.
07:13He's again here.
07:15He can.
07:16Sends the keeper the wrong way.
07:18It's quiet up.
07:19Over the crossbar.
07:20He's missed.
07:22Torres up against Beltran.
07:24Saved.
07:25Beltran.
07:26The hero once again.
07:29Keeps River alive.
07:32Scores.
07:35To try and keep his side.
07:36In the sudamericana.
07:37And he does just about.
07:39Sneak that one past Beltran.
07:42Beltran sucks.
07:43Next up for River.
07:44Saved.
07:45By Asprea.
07:46The legs of the goalkeeper.
07:48For the first.
07:49Angulo up against Beltran.
07:51Beltran again.
07:53With the save.
07:55Once again.
07:57Beltran.
07:58Acuna scores for River.
08:046-5.
08:06Just to keep the shootout going.
08:07Heli Beltran.
08:08Palacios up against Beltran.
08:10And he scores.
08:13Calmly taken.
08:15Messer.
08:16Scores.
08:19Keeper again.
08:20Coming from his line.
08:21Those little stuttering steps.
08:23Before the taking of the penalty.
08:25But Messer keeps his cool.
08:26Now.
08:27Once again.
08:28And he does that.
08:30Slides it past Beltran.
08:33Goalkeeper against goalkeeper.
08:35Beltran.
08:36Balloons it over the top of the crossbar.
08:38But.
08:42Well.
08:42He might be something of an expert in saving penalties.
08:46He's certainly not an expert in taking the.
08:50Losing his footing by the look of things as he takes it.
08:53And skying it.
08:54Way over the top of the.
08:57Asprea.
08:58Asprea.
08:59Scores.
09:04And with it.
09:06Independiente Santa Fe.
09:08Knockout River Plate.
09:12Incredible shoots out.
09:15Incredible scenes.
09:19River Plate's nightmare.
09:22Has just got a lot worse.
09:26It's Independiente Santa Fe into the Sudamericana Quarter 5.
09:30finals to play Vasco de Gama and it's the big spending missionarios of River Plate
10:18and it's the big spending.
