00:00For National Dog Day, we wanted to see how much of a Reno Tahoe getaway we could actually do with
00:05our dogs. After a quick JSX flight from Burbank, we picked up our rental car and headed into Reno.
00:10Our first stop was the Best Bet Motor Lodge. Their room setup included dog beds, bowls,
00:16and treats, and the staff even snapped a photo of them for the motel's Best Pets board. That night,
00:22we headed to Wild River Grill for its Dinner With Your Dog event, held every Monday in August,
00:27with a portion of proceeds benefiting the SBCA of Northern Nevada. There was live music,
00:33the dogs got their own burger, and we finished dinner with an incredible brown butter cake.
00:37The next morning, Bentley slept in while Story joined us for breakfast at Two Chicks in Midtown
00:42Reno. Even the plates were on theme, shaped like eggs, and our server may have had the best uniform
00:47of the trip. Bentley finally woke up and we made the gorgeous one-hour drive to Tahoe City. Visit
00:52Reno Tahoe had set up a whole itinerary for our stay, and Tahoe City ended up being one of our
00:58favorite spots. We wandered through the shops with Bentley cruising in his wagon, getting plenty of
01:03attention everywhere he went. We stopped at Scraps for Dogs and Cats, where Story picked out a new
01:08bandana and checked out Tahoe Trunk Show, where everything is made by local artisans. Lunch was
01:14at Tahoe Tap House, where everything tasted fresh and made from scratch. And the sweet potato waffle fries
01:20may have been the best we've ever had. The dogs got biscuits before we headed down to the lake
01:24to let them burn off some energy along the shoreline.
