A major update has emerged regarding Pakistan’s Rs10 currency note. The State Bank of Pakistan has reportedly recommended discontinuing the Rs10 note during a Senate Standing Committee on Finance meeting.

Officials also briefed the committee about the ongoing process of introducing redesigned currency notes. A ministerial committee headed by the Finance Minister has approved the new designs, while the State Bank is working to ensure that the new notes meet required security standards.

According to the briefing, even after approval from the federal cabinet, the introduction of new currency notes could take around one year. The final decision on the denominations of the new notes will be taken by the federal cabinet.
