00:00preseason game against
00:01the Lions. I only say that
00:03not because we lost, but just because
00:06even
00:07Dan kind of talked about
00:09unsettled and
00:11wasn't super happy
00:13with the way they ended
00:15some of their drives.
00:17He said it was
00:19a performance in disarray.
00:22Disarray was the word that he used.
00:23It's not a great word.
00:24So he changed
00:27Monday's schedule
00:28from a planned walkthrough to a full
00:31practice, although relatively short
00:32approximately an hour practice
00:34with some limited 11-on-11
00:37work. He
00:38described it as a chance to get
00:41three good days in
00:43a row now leading into the Ravens
00:45joint practice, evaluate the roster
00:46more thoroughly, and give extra reps to
00:48players that are kind of moving around, different positions
00:51etc. I think specifically
00:52he talked about
00:55Gulbin? Was it Gulbin?
00:56They played some at guard, but they're just going to keep him at center
00:59for now. So I've seen him at guard, now they keep him
01:01at center. Still, that
01:03position is something that they're still obviously
01:05they're keeping an eye on.
01:07He is trying to say it's not
01:09just purely a knee-jerk
01:11reaction to the Lions game, but
01:13he was dissatisfied
01:16with their performance.
01:18And the quote
01:20was that that wasn't
01:21us. So
01:23reportedly, starters
01:24received significant
01:25reps. That
01:27will continue as a theme this week.
01:29Jaden Daniels is expected to get substantially
01:31more work in Wednesday's practice
01:33than the three plays he got in the
01:35scrimmage against the Lions.
01:38So that joint practice
01:39with the Ravens. I have all the dates
01:41I'll give you that to you in a little bit.
01:43Reportedly, highlights included
01:44Stefan Diggs
01:47making a big catch from
01:49Daniels. Some big runs
01:50from Robert Henry Jr.,
01:52Ketron Allen in practice.
01:55Amik Robertson
01:56is continuing to pop.
02:00Fabian Moreau
02:01made a play, breaking up a pass to Terry
02:02McLaurin. Some of that stuff was noted.
02:04Quan Martin,
02:05apparently,
02:07is continuing to pop.
02:09So, injury is still an
02:11issue.
02:13Obviously, you're
02:14long-term guys.
02:15You don't even need to keep bringing up
02:16Tunsil, although I think I saw a report
02:18that Tunsil ordered a food truck.
02:20He came back to the park yesterday
02:23to be with the guys.
02:24He had a food truck,
02:25and it was on him, and everybody
02:26could just practice.
02:27They had barbecue.
02:28Nice move by him.
02:29Barbecue everywhere.
02:30That's nice.
02:30And remember, he had said
02:31there was some concern that,
02:33you know, not concern,
02:34but just,
02:35wow, what a loss having this
02:36veteran leader
02:38go back home or wherever he wants
02:40and do his own rehab.
02:40No, he's going to stay around here,
02:42largely,
02:43and rehab around here
02:44so he could still have an impact
02:45on the young guys
02:46and on that offensive line.
02:47Can you imagine how much barbecue
02:48Laramie Tunsil could sit down
02:50and eat in one sitting
02:53just so he could eat it all?
02:55I mean, Mark, Mark,
02:56can you tell people
02:57what you had this week?
02:58I can't remember where you were
03:00when you told me your order.
03:02Yeah, so on Sunday,
03:03I mean, there's a restaurant,
03:05popular chain,
03:06that just religiously gets destroyed
03:08online, specifically on social media.
03:10People just crush it.
03:11Go ahead.
03:12Let me give a free plug.
03:13Arby's.
03:14Okay.
03:15Arby's is still swinging a hot bat.
03:17I love Arby's.
03:18I hadn't been there in a year.
03:19I got the number one
03:20beef and cheddar,
03:21curly fries,
03:21white cheddar,
03:22mac and cheese,
03:23buffalo chicken slider,
03:25pummeled it Sunday morning.
03:26That's a pummel.
03:27That is a lot.
03:28It was so damn.
03:28Can you say that again?
03:29You got the beef and cheddar,
03:31that's a standard.
03:32That's the number one.
03:33That's a pretty good sized sandwich.
03:34for a reason, too.
03:35I mean, you look at the menu top left,
03:36number one beef and cheddar
03:37right there.
03:38It's very good.
03:38And you get that Mike's way.
03:39You don't make any alterations to it.
03:41You get all the fixings on it.
03:42Right.
03:43And then the white cheddar,
03:45mac and cheese,
03:46that's new.
03:47I saw that on the billboard outside
03:48when I was walking in.
03:49Yeah.
03:50They got you.
03:51Yeah, buffalo chicken slider.
03:52And then I was going to get
03:53the cheese steak.
03:54And curly fries,
03:55did you say?
03:56How do you eat a buffalo chicken slider?
03:57Hold up.
03:58What is it?
03:58We have the meat.
03:59So the buffalo chicken slider
04:00is in a smaller little burger.
04:02Yeah.
04:02It's pretty nuts.
04:03I mean, it's like four or five bites.
04:05You can pummel it pretty easily.
04:06Yeah.
04:07But, um,
04:07and then I was going to get the cheese steak,
04:09but that was just way too much.
04:10I mean, that's just gluttony.
04:11Yeah.
04:12No shake.
04:12No shake.
04:13Dr. Pepper.
04:14Wash it down.
04:15And then on the way back,
04:16I cleaned up.
04:16Curly fries, of course.
04:18Totally seasoned curly fries.
04:19That's a lot of food.
04:20It is.
04:21That's probably about 19,000 calories.
04:22Yeah.
04:23And it was like $20,
04:25a little more than $20.
04:26Yeah.
04:26I wasn't expecting it to be that much,
04:28but it's so worth it, man.
04:29But online,
04:30it just gets destroyed.
04:31So when I told you yesterday,
04:32I was expecting you to crush it as well.
04:34There's an Arby's.
04:35Take me over there.
04:36I've never seen this before.
04:38They're hard to find.
04:38A McDonald's shutting down,
04:40and Arby's taking its place.
04:42Oh, I know what you're talking about.
04:43In Durwood.
04:43Yeah.
04:44Oh, that's huge.
04:45Close to my hood.
04:46Really?
04:46I can actually,
04:46is it open now?
04:48I don't think it's open yet.
04:49Oh, it's on like the intersection of Montcaster.
04:51Yes.
04:52Yes.
04:52I drove by there.
04:53I put it in my thing.
04:55I wanted,
04:55McDonald's,
04:56I can't remember what it was in.
04:57I put it in my thing,
04:58drove up,
04:58thing was shuttered.
04:59Dead.
05:00It wasn't,
05:01but on my GPS,
05:01it happened.
05:02How is that possible?
05:03There's another McDonald's within about eight or ten minutes,
05:06so maybe they're just like,
05:07it's cannibalizing sales.
05:09I don't know.
05:10It's hard to fathom.
05:12McDonald's going down,
05:13and the Arby's taking its place.
05:15That's big news.
05:17That's a big one.
05:17But you know what?
05:18I'm glad you reminded me,
05:20because can you tell me when that opens?
05:21Like the day of,
05:22so we can go to the grand opening.
05:23I don't know if I can give you the day of,
05:25but I'll try to keep you abreast of it.
05:26I love Arby's,
05:28and when they shut down the Arby's on Rockville Pike,
05:30that hurt.
05:31That was like a day of morning.
05:33I agree.
05:34I was the only person in there.
05:36That actually went to McDonald's now.
05:37Yeah.
05:38It was deserted, man.
05:40Not a soul in there besides me and my buddy,
05:42and then I was just keeping tabs on the drive-thru.
05:45Within 40 minutes,
05:46not a single car.
05:47Really?
05:48Really.
05:49That's not good for business.
05:50Why do people sleep?
05:52There's a lot of sleeping going on at Arby's.
05:53It's such a great menu.
05:55So many different things.
05:56Maybe it's too much for people.
05:57No, it's stacked, dude.
05:58That menu is sweet.
06:00There was a lot of stuff that I was looking at,
06:01like the cheesesteak and some other stuff that I didn't get that I'm like,
06:05yeah, I might have to come back around.
06:06Maybe they lost their identity a bit because it used to be all beef and cheddar,
06:09and now they're going off a little bit with sliders and all this other stuff you're getting.
06:12Maybe they just need a good spokesperson, spokeswoman, you could say.
06:16Maybe a Hope Solo or someone with some roast beef tied to it.
06:20Hope Solo.
06:21Hell yeah.
06:22There's a good thing somewhere there.
06:23I know where it's going with that.
06:24Dude, that didn't come off the top of your dome, did it?
06:27You've been sitting on that one?
06:28I've been sitting on it for like 30 seconds.
06:30Like while you were talking, I was like, how can they come back to prominence?
06:34And then I found the Hope Solo one.
06:36Pretty good.
06:37Is there any other legendary Arby's lovers?
06:42Well, I know Sophie Cunningham said something like a month ago.
06:45No way.
06:46I don't believe that.
06:46No, no, she said something.
06:47She said, didn't she, Valdez?
06:49I don't know the exact quote, but it was something like, you know,
06:53hot girls love Arby's or something like that.
06:55I've got an Arby's Hall of Famer.
06:57This is an old school name, but you're going to recognize it.
07:00Go ahead.
07:00Jody Arias.
07:01Yeah.
07:03Look.
07:05She's like the guy that slaughtered her boyfriend in the shower.
07:09Hey, yeah.
07:09Sophie Cunningham is an official spokesperson for Arby's.
07:12Oh, very good.
07:12Right.
07:13Good for her.
07:13Okay.
07:14Officials for like the restaurant.
07:16Yeah.
07:17Yeah.
07:17I refuse to admit.
07:18I refuse to acknowledge that Sophie.
07:21I don't think so.
07:22Yeah.
07:22She had a custom t-shirt that said, hot girls eat Arby's.
07:27Nice.
07:28She's all over the place.
07:29I like her.
07:29Man, this Arby's menu is, there's, I mean, it majors in roast beef,
07:33but they've got like crispy chicken.
07:35They've got chicken tenders.
07:36They've got everything.
07:37I love it.
07:38It might not be an Arby's problem.
07:39It might be a roast beef problem.
07:41Yeah.
07:42Yeah.
07:42Roast beef has a bad connotation right now.
07:44Maybe like fast food roast beef.
07:46People kind of thumb their nose at it.
07:47Yeah.
07:48So I don't know.
07:49I love, I love Arby's.
07:51Will you get one?
07:51I'll break my fast forward.
07:53Will you get some beef and chelos?
07:54With horsey sauce.
07:54Yeah.
07:55What today?
07:55It's that location because I've gone to many Arby's in the last year and they're
08:00usually pretty productive.
08:02I don't know if they're packed, but they're doing all right.
08:05I don't know.
08:06I never.
08:07I never saw one.
08:07I think my wife gets like the number 13.
08:09Maybe it's just a drive-thru spot.
08:11Again.
08:12If you go to the Arby's menu and if your girlfriend or wife, and I work with me here,
08:17orders the half pound roast beef meal, you better run for the head to the hills, my friends.
08:22That thing is enormous.
08:23I mean, that's the biggest sandwich I've ever seen.
08:25I can't believe Mike Maher didn't order that.
08:27Yeah.
08:27That's like something shackley.
08:28I mean, look at that thing.
08:29You can't even open your mouth.
08:30That thing's gigantic.
08:32And they occasionally have brisket there, too.
08:33There's no way they sell that.
08:35I mean, there's no way.
08:36It's half pound roast beef meals right here on the menu.
08:38I know, but my point is nobody buys it.
08:41You'd be surprised, man.
08:41Some big girls can put it down at Arby's.
08:44That half pounder might not be too hard for them.
08:46I don't know how.
08:47I'm supposed to be hitting the skins.
08:48Now we're just hitting the fast food joints.
08:49Well, you brought up the barbecue.
08:51You're hitting the beef.
08:52You're hitting the beef.
08:53All right, so get back to the hit the skins.
08:55The injuries.
08:56Let me see here.
08:57Tim Settle and Rashad White limited on the field.
09:01Limited.
09:02There's still some key guys that are expected to be out.
09:06They're targeting next week for potential availability.
09:09Those guys are Adafi Owe with the calf.
09:12Kalevon Chason with the knee.
09:14Alegretti with the calf.
09:16They all, at this point anyway, appear unlikely for the joint practice.
09:22Alegretti better get back before the opener because I don't love the chances of Matt Goulbin
09:27having time against Jordan Davis.
09:31That's what I'm saying.
09:32Because that'll be bad news.
09:34Well, also, second week against Dallas, they got some stud DTs.
09:37Now, there are some sites that are starting to put out there, SI.com, their local guy,
09:43Phillip Hughes, he put out, I'm going to give him credit, he put out a list of five or six
09:48guys that are kind of making a name for themselves, working themselves on the roster.
09:53A couple of them I think were no-brainers anyway, but one in particular I want to evaluate
09:57with you.
10:00Do you think that this player has done enough that if they cut him, someone might pick
10:06him up?
10:07Okay.
10:09AK.
10:11Has he shown enough potential?
10:13I think there's less than a 0% chance that they would cut AK-16.
10:19Well, there's been a lot of thought.
10:21All thought has been that they're only going to keep two and the other spot or spots would
10:27be on the practice squad.
10:28That's what everyone has kind of assumed because the trend around the league is two quarterbacks.
10:33I don't think anybody picks him up.
10:34So you think they could expose him, cut him, and bring him as the No. 3?
10:37Oh, I don't know.
10:38Especially with Mariota being still dinged up.
10:40Yeah, because Mariota's hurt.
10:41He might be able to do that.
10:42He's shown enough, I think, to be kept on the active roster.
10:46I think it's a real question.
10:47I think Hartman, he's at least going to be cut.
10:50Everybody knows that.
10:50He's the most gone.
10:51If they bring him back to practice squad, clearly that's just a weird mentor thing.
10:55I think AK stays.
10:56I think he stays.
10:56And they keep him on the other side.
10:57So they're keeping three quarterbacks.
10:59Yeah, just because now with Jaden getting hurt last year, Mariota hurt this year in the
11:05preseason.
11:06And they like him.
11:07They don't want to risk him.
11:07I think it's too risky.
11:08I mean, because for sure they're bringing him back on a practice squad if they expose him
11:13and he stays there.
11:14For sure they're bringing him back.
11:16Here's the thing.
11:17They're going to get a waiver, at least for a week or so, for Dorrance Armstrong because
11:21of the suspension.
11:23There's some talk.
11:24I heard Standig talking about this with Kim Chi, and there's some talk that they could
11:28put McNichols on some sort of injured list, bring him back, right?
11:33Like, so with a designation to bring him back, that could maybe save you a spot.
11:37I know there's been talk and people kind of mock it, but maybe there's a market somewhere
11:42for like a Luke McCaffrey and they could unload a receiver.
11:46And then, you know, because they don't have a lot of spots.
11:52There's not a lot of flexibility on this roster.
11:54If you can move McCaffrey for some offensive line depth, I'd be looking into that right
11:59now.
11:59I think that I'm certain that they are.
12:02But I'm not sure that you could.
12:04Has McCaffrey done enough that someone's going to give up somebody that you think could actually
12:09play and help you like in your interior part of your line?
12:14It's a good question.
12:15I don't know.
12:16Is he that good of a kick returner where a team would want to?
12:19Last year, but it's one year, 10 games or whatever.
12:21I mean, it could be like the Niners and the, was it the Saints?
12:26Yeah, they just did a deal.
12:27Yeah, they dealt a linebacker for Zemir White, a running back.
12:31Because the Saints needed a running back, so they said, let's go out and get somebody.
12:34You could see something like that happening maybe with Luke.
12:36Right.
12:37So my point is, you know, there's a glut of receivers.
12:40You got to figure if they're going to err on the side of caution and have maybe an extra
12:45alignment or two.
12:46There's been a lot of injuries on the D-line.
12:49So, you know, how many guys are actually going to be able to weasel their way on, including
12:53a third quarterback, which is generally a luxury.
12:57Yeah, but I think he's shown too much through the first two preseason games.
13:01Hey, Matt.
13:02He might expose them.
13:03Matt.
13:03I saw the Ravens are having an issue at center, too.
13:07Yeah, the center that they signed got hurt.
13:11Right.
13:11So now they're on to their backup center.
13:14Right.
13:14And keep in mind, they lost Linderbaum to free agency.
13:16So the center position for the Ravens is very thin.
13:19Was it Pinter?
13:19Was it Pocic got hurt?
13:20Yeah.
13:20He got hurt?
13:21Yeah.
13:21He's banged up?
13:22Yeah.
13:22Okay.
13:23So now there's kind of a fight between the second and third string to see who's going to get
13:27the snaps.
13:28So it's a whole ordeal.
13:29They're having issues, too.
13:30All right, so if you're trying to plot out your week, make sure you have Wednesday in
13:37mind.
13:37That's the joint practice with the Ravens, and that's going to be out in Owings Mills,
13:42Maryland.
13:43I don't know if we'll get any sneak peeks on NFL Network or some YouTuber or somebody's
13:48going to have something.
13:48I don't know.
13:50Then, of course, Friday, that's the final preseason game.
13:54Yes, the final preseason week is here, Cakes.
13:58Thankfully, it's here.
13:59That's 6 p.m. M&T Bank Stadium.
14:03That's going to be broadcast locally again on WSA 9 and nationally on the NFL Network.
14:09Then you have your roster deadlines.
14:11Got to start thinking shortly after that, right?
14:13So the game's on Friday.
14:15Saturday, it's a big weekend for Adam Peters and DQ and all those guys.
14:21They're all going to be in there crunching the roster.
14:25Sunday, August 30th, 6 p.m., 53-man roster cut down deadline.
14:32They go from 90.
14:33It's a big one, man.
14:3447 guys on some level.
14:37Is that right?
14:3747?
14:38Or 37?
14:4037 guys get their dreams kind of dashed.
14:44Now, they're going to bring back 14, 15, whatever the number is for practice squad.
14:47They'll bring back some guys.
14:49But that's a tough day for guys.
14:51And when they bring back people, the waiver claim deadline, that's August 31st on Monday
14:57at 1 p.m.
14:59That's when you can start putting together your practice squad.
15:03Then, of course, the regular season starts.
15:05Now you've got a two-week break.
15:07Kate always talks about how brutal that is.
15:09Oh, it sucks.
15:10That's Sunday, September 13th.
15:12You've got college football.
15:13I know, but it's not the same.
15:15On Labor Day weekend.
15:16Some of us like NFL more than college.
15:18We like college.
15:18Clearly, you do.
15:19I like college football.
15:20Don't get it crazy.
15:20At least it's something to watch.
15:22It's something, but not necessarily on Sunday.
15:24Okay, so college is great on Saturday, but it's not necessarily a Sunday thing.
15:28There's games on Sunday on Labor Day weekend every year.
15:30Okay, but it's not like the NFL.
15:34Look, I know why.
15:35I'm just saying it's not like there's nothing going on on Labor Day weekend.
15:38You've got something to watch.
15:40But if you're a football guy, if you're an NFL guy.
15:42NFL guy, you've got to wait.
15:43Yeah, yeah.
15:44425 kick.
15:45By the way, I was at Harris Teeter yesterday, and a guy walked in, and he was 6,
15:54he had to have been 6'5 to 6'7.
15:56Okay.
15:57Big dude, black guy.
15:58Yeah.
15:58I mean, he was a player, but I just, I didn't recognize him.
16:02I mean, how many guys are 6'7?
16:04Not a lot.
16:056'5 to 6'7, unless he was just a big dude.
16:08Was he an older guy?
16:09No, he looked like he was late 20s.
16:12Kind of disappointed you couldn't pick out who he was.
16:14I couldn't pull his face.
16:15Is it Dietrich Wise a huge guy?
16:16Ooh.
16:17Is it Dietrich Wise?
16:19Wow.
16:20You know what?
16:20He's a tall dude.
16:21Yeah.
16:22Wait a minute.
16:25He's 6'5.
16:26It could have been him.
16:27He's a big fella.
16:29You know what?
16:29I think it might have been Dietrich Wise.
16:31Yeah.
16:33I think.
16:33Maybe that's a celebrity.
16:34Now, somebody said they haven't seen him a lot lately.
16:36They were kind of insinuating he might be done.
16:38I don't know.
16:39Okay.
16:39All right.
16:40But this guy looked younger than, how old is Wise?
16:43He's probably 27 or 28.
16:45Okay.
16:45So maybe it wasn't.
16:46I think he might have pulled it.
16:47Maybe he's his 30s.
16:48I don't know.
16:48Yeah.
16:49Here's what I do know.
16:50Coming up at 8 o'clock, we have a big junkies show announcement you want to stay tuned.
