Simon Cowell is temporarily stepping away from the judges’ table on “America’s Got Talent” as lingering back problems from past accidents send him for a routine medical procedure.
The longtime TV personality is expected to miss several weeks of filming while guest judges are brought in to cover his absence. Reports say the procedure is connected to longstanding issues rather than a new or serious health problem.
Cowell has dealt with back trouble since a serious electric-bike crash in 2020. Speaking to Extra six months after the accident, he described the experience, saying, “When I saw the X-ray, I really nearly smashed my spine to pieces.” He also recalled that he immediately realized something was badly wrong after the fall.
The entertainment star suffered another e-bike accident in 2022, reportedly breaking his arm after crashing to the ground.
Despite the setbacks, Cowell has continued his television career and remains closely associated with the “Got Talent” franchise.
For now, fans will have to wait a few weeks to see the familiar judge return to the AGT panel.
