00:00It something had to give with the Patriots because you're not going to pay all that money to A.J.
00:06Brown and without there being some sort of issue down the line.
00:11And as it turns out, Keyshawn Boudre, who's due for a contract extension at some particular point, he's going to
00:19have to take his skills over to the Texans because he's been traded from the Patriots to the Texans in
00:26exchange for safety, Jalen Reed and a 2028 seventh round pick.
00:32Listen, he was a big reason why they made it to the big game last year.
00:36I mean, this kid was there were some questions coming out of LSU about work ethic and so on and
00:43so forth.
00:44But listen, he proved his worth last year.
00:47I just think this is a dollar and cents thing.
00:50He's going to want to get paid.
00:52And the biggest personality in that room can't be Keyshawn Boudre.
00:56It's got to be A.J. Brown.
00:58And that's the end of it.
00:59You know, I think this is it's really going to work out for both teams.
01:03The Texans desperately need wide receiver help.
01:06We know that Brown, they went out.
01:10The Patriots now, the Brown, the trade, they went outside Romeo Dobbs, the Mario Douglas, you know, veteran presidents like
01:16Matt Collins.
01:16They still have the younger talent of Kyle Williams.
01:18They were just a logjam essentially at the position.
01:21And if they can move on from him, get a little bit defensive help, get a pick back, you know,
01:25all these sorts of things that not have to pay a player a year or two down the road.

01:29I think it's a win across the board for the Texans.
01:31You know, their side of things, again, they desperately needed the wide receiver help.
01:35The offensive line is still going to be an issue for them.
01:38They looked okay-ish in that preseason game last week when Stroud started.
01:43Granted, it was against the Raiders.
01:44I don't know how much stock we're going to be putting in the Texans.
01:46Yes, their defense is absolutely elite.
01:50We know that.
01:51But their offensive line is bad.
01:53C.J. Stroud last year was bad.
01:55I am not sold on their offense at all.
01:57I do not like them at that plus 110 price.
02:02I didn't mind Jalen Reed either.
02:04I mean, listen, they need some help in that secondary.
02:07They, you know, that was a concern of theirs last year.
02:11He is kind of a ball hawk.
02:13He was great with that Texans defense.
02:15But the big question is, Tom, is it the Texans scheme?
02:19Or is this guy really, is he that good?
02:23It's not like Brable's a slouch here when it comes to defense.
02:26They got a pretty good unit there.
02:28So, either way, I think the system fits them.
02:31It's the only reason I think the Patriots would have made the trade as long as that, you know,
02:35Brable and company said he fits into exactly what we're doing defensively.

02:40And that's where I think it really is going to work out on both sides.

02:55I know the fans generally liked him, but it just wasn't going to work out when you trade for a

03:00He went out and signed Romeo Dobbs in the offseason to big money.
03:03Like, someone's going to be cut along the way.
03:05We just know this.
03:06This is how, you know, 53-man rosters work.
03:09And getting Reid back is a good thing.
03:12And to your point, they would not have made this move specifically for Reid if they didn't have a role,

03:18essentially carved out for him already for him to drop into the system and say, OK, we can run with
03:22this and we'll be ready to go for week one.
03:25Yeah, I think it's interesting.

03:30This could be we look back on this time.

03:33These aren't always win-win situations.
03:36But, you know, week two of the preseason and you make a trade like this, listen, he's going to get
03:42paid, Booty.
03:43They were not, they could not afford to pay him and keep A.J. Brown on there, too.
03:47They have their big receiver.
03:49The kid has been money, but let's just see if, you know, C.J. Stratt can actually get him the
03:55ball enough times to make it worthwhile here.
03:58But I do think the kid's a baller.
03:59He's a big-time player.
04:01I think he'll be fine there in Houston.
