Sheikh Othman Al-Khamis explains ruling on Mawlid: There is no special day to celebrate Prophet's birthday. Prophet completed religion and said I left nothing that brings you closer to Allah except I ordered you, and he never ordered Mawlid. We are not more loving than Sahaba, Tabi'in, Abu Hanifa, Malik, Shafi'i, Ahmad, Bukhari, Muslim. By consensus of Seerah scholars Prophet died 12th Rabi al-Awwal, birth on 12th disputed, so we celebrate his death. Leaving it is principle. Salafi Dawah.
