00:01Hello and welcome to short highlights of day 5 stage 4 of the 41st edition of the Lidl Deutschland Tour.
00:08The tour of Germany and back in the sunshine, back in Baden-Württemberg for the final stage.
00:14Finishing in the city of Heilbronn. Not just that, but starting in the city of Heilbronn as well.
00:19It had been a second stage win in a row for Red Bull.
00:22Bore a hand scroller yesterday with Giulio Pellizzari taking the stage win and Isak del Toro taking back over the
00:29race lead, having won the prologue, of course, on Wednesday.
00:33This is what they faced three 21km laps around Heilbronn once they'd taken in a long 64km ride westward.
00:41We had a cracking break away of six riders, all German except for the Dutchman, Ko Molina.
00:46Ah, crucially, in there was Miguel Heidemann in the King of the Mountains jersey as well, looking to put that
00:51one to bed.
00:53They had a good stint out front, our six riders in the breakaway, as they rolled through stunningly beautiful wine
01:00country in Baden-Württemberg.
01:02But the chase was coming and we knew it would, and it would all be about the Jägerhaus.
01:07This climb in amongst the vineyards, climbing up and away from Heilbronn to really create some separation in the general
01:15classification group.
01:16It was also what did for the breakaway, of course, leaving in the end four and then three at the
01:21front.
01:21It was UAE Team Emirates using Moritz Maus, the young German rider, for his final stint on the front, looking
01:29like they were ready to launch Isak del Toro.
01:32He didn't need to do this, though, of course. He's in the race leader's jersey. He could just ride this
01:37one home.
01:37I have to tell you, though, a little teaser, that's not how he rides.
01:41That's not how UAE Team Emirates rides, and they knew it, too.
01:45The three remaining riders, Ian Kings, Ben Joachim and Miguel Heidemann, came to the line together.
01:51But the catch was imminent, not least because they knew they had the Jägerhaus coming in again.
01:56It was a brilliant ride by the young German Kings.
01:57France, Frank Vandenbroek gave it a go, the Dutchman, for Picnic Post NL, but really his attack was what teased
02:05out the best of the rest.
02:07Louis Barre having yet another go.
02:10They caught Vandenbroek, but sitting on Louis Barre in the full blue, Isak del Toro, the race leader.
02:17It was Matthias Watzek coming up behind them as well.
02:20Well, this was going to be a shuffling of the general classification from sort of fifth place down, but one
02:25and two locked together.
02:28Louis Barre, the Frenchman, in the yellow of his Melissa bike, never giving up on trying to crack the Mexican,
02:34Isak del Toro, but it looked almost impossible.
02:37Barre continued.
02:39Del Toro sat in and watched.
02:41Could they make it count as they came to the finish as well?
02:43This was the bell being rung, final time across the line.
02:48It was Ben Felix, Joachim leading them through there too.
02:51Final few pulls for UAE team Emirates, XRG, and the launching of Isak del Toro looked ominous.
03:00This Melissa bike didn't want to let them have it all their own way though.
03:02Wilco Kelman trying to do the same for a third time maybe for Louis Barre, who did not give up.
03:08The Frenchman just kept going and going to see if they could shake out Isak del Toro.
03:14This was the final time up the Jägerhaus, the third and final time.
03:17Barre going again, but all the time.

03:25Barre went again.
03:26Watzek was really the only one that could go with him.
03:29But then the inevitable launch happened over the top of a slightly faltering Louis Barre, who was putting up a
03:35fantastic battle.
03:36Mateus Watzek started looking back and Isak del Toro only looked forward.
03:42The Mexican was doing something that maybe only Tadi Pagacar, his great teammate, would think of doing when in the
03:48leader's jersey.
03:49Finish off by riding away from absolutely everyone.
03:53He'd gone over the top of the Jägerhaus.
03:55He went towards the bonus classification as well.
03:58Took the three bonus seconds there.
03:59Barre taking two and Watzek one.
04:02Watzek was set to move up if it stayed like this.
04:05But could they catch Isak del Toro out front?
04:10He rode down into Heilbronn with a very, very slender lead.
04:13The expectation was this would come down to a sprint and he'd be caught.
04:17But all the while, he continued holding on.
04:22Late attack, though, coming from one of the riders from Stork MRW bow.
04:27Wow, that is an impressive late ride.
04:30Could well be, Cadeña, it could well be that we have the first two Mexicans to ride this race ever
04:37at the front of the race.
04:38And yes, we do.
04:39Isak del Toro and Edgar David Cadeña, two Mexicans right at the front.
04:47I actually think Isak del Toro might do this.
04:51Van Gastel now stopping.
04:52It is, is that Mark Hirschi of Tudor Pro Cycling?
04:56Now comes the launch for Paul Magny.
04:58Is there enough room for them to get through?
05:00Magny's being let out.
05:02Isak del Toro is still there.
05:03I think he might do this.
05:05What a ride by the race leader.
05:07He's got 300 meters to go.
05:09Magny launching.
05:10Isak del Toro out of the saddle.
05:13If anyone can do it, he can do it.
05:15Oh my goodness me, at the very last he gets passed.
05:18And Paul Magny up against Magiannotti.
05:22Oh wow.
05:25At the very, very last, Paul Magny gets retribution from being beaten by Isak del Toro in the prologue.
05:35The team worked really hard again today.
05:38There were six at the start and all of us worked really hard.
05:42And also my parents were there to watch the race.
05:45So I'm really proud to win in front of them.
05:47And it's also the birthday of my own, of my cousin.
05:50So it's a nice win for us by the day.
05:53And just like that, perfect numerical symmetry.
05:56Paul Magny taking his 32nd career victory.
05:59Isak del Toro also taking his 32nd career victory with the overall win.
06:04And both aged 22.
06:09No, I mean, the plan was not to go.
06:11It was more or less like security.
06:12But yeah, then I just sitting up behind and I say, ah, why not?
06:16So I just went full gas.
06:18For sure the highway, you go faster in the bunch.
06:21But yeah, it was a good attempt, I think.
06:23And it was a close one.
06:25The final podium, Mark Hirschi, Louis Barre and Isak del Toro winning on debut the Mexican.
06:31And I'm pleased to say attacking late on today, Edward Cadeña, the other Mexican riding,
06:36also in the top 10 moving up on the final stage.
06:39So Isak del Toro winning three jerseys and a fantastic Miguel Hademan
06:43making it all good on the final day by winning the King of the Mountains one year on from losing
06:47it.
