The 2007 sequel, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, expanded the adventure and left fans with one massive unanswered question: What exactly was written on Page 47?
For years, a third film seemed unlikely. The franchise spent a long time in development limbo, and Cage himself had previously expressed doubts about whether another movie would happen. Disney later explored the universe through the National Treasure: Edge of History streaming series, but the show was canceled after one season.
