00:00Morgan Guillory, I'm Detective Karadak. This is Detective Osdill.
00:03We need you to come down to the station.
00:05At first, I didn't understand why the police were looking for me.
00:07Until I saw the surveillance footage last night as a janitor,
00:10I was cleaning the police station while listening to music.
00:13I got too absorbed in it. I accidentally knocked over the case files.
00:16When I was sorting them out, I just glanced at one,
00:19and I spotted an error in the investigation.
00:21So I made some corrections on the case board.
00:23The chief wasn't having it. She told me to explain myself.
00:26So I had no choice but to walk them through the case again.
00:29First, a man was found dead in his home.
00:31His wife had disappeared.
00:33When I saw the photo with the perfectly aligned sofa cushions
00:35and shelf items sorted by material,
00:37I knew the victim's wife had severe OCD.
00:40But here's where it got strange.
00:41All of these curtains are fastened with a tieback,
00:44except for one for some reason.
00:45That's odd, isn't it?
00:47You're telling me this woman who meticulously arranges her couch pillows
00:51doesn't care about her curtains?
00:52So the tieback must have been used for something else.
00:55See, look, you've got hair stuck to the chair leg.
00:57Somebody put tape around it, ripped it off.
01:00The glue stayed and trapped the little bits.
01:02The samples are at the lab.
01:03We found no tape at the scene.
01:04That means someone was tied up with the curtain cord
01:06and taped to the chair around their ankles.
01:09The victim had no marks on his hands.
01:11Clearly, someone else at the scene had been tied up by the killer.
01:14So the missing wife was also a victim,
01:16meaning besides the dead man and his missing wife.
01:18There was a third person, the killer.
01:20Just then, another officer walked in.
01:22He said surveillance confirmed a third person at the scene.
01:24The third person!
01:25I thought the police would reward me for helping them.
01:27Instead, they arrested me for tampering with the criminal case.
01:30Fortunately, after investigating, they found I had no involvement.
01:33They were about to have me sign a confidentiality agreement and leave.
01:37When I spotted another problem.
01:38Video has the wrong date on the timestamp.
01:40This doesn't concern you anymore.
01:42Great.
01:44Wait, what are you talking about?
01:46That's not from yesterday.
01:47The wind in the video was blowing from the south.
01:49In the Los Angeles Basin, that only happens in summer.
01:53But it's late autumn now.
01:54The wind should be coming from the north.
01:56So this video was clearly from monks ago.
01:58Officer Kara didn't understand how I figured out the wind direction.
02:01And I didn't understand how he became a cop.
02:04There's obviously a church in the video.
02:06Churches always face east.
02:08Partly because priests follow the tradition of the Jerusalem temple.
02:11And partly so the sun rises behind them,
02:14making them appear more divine.
02:16All churches face east?
02:17And can't the wind change direction?
02:19Catholic churches built here in the 1800s do.
02:22So yes.
02:23And the wind was definitely blowing from the north yesterday.
02:27She's right.
02:28On both counts.
02:30Someone doctored the video.
02:32See ya.
